How Strong Is Oxycodone Acetaminophen 5 325

I was prescribed oxycodone acetaminophen 5-325 for pain; another doctor told me to take 1000 mg of acetaminophen for the same pain. Which is stronger? ## @Demetri, Oxycodone in and of itself is significantly stronger than Acetaminophen, so I'm not sure if there's any reliable or honest way to accurately compare the two, outside of trying each one for yourself at different times in the day and noticing the big difference in pain relief. I'm not a Dr. but I also wouldn't encourage anyone to take such a large dose of Acetaminophen on a regular basis. They narrowed down the max dose in meds to 325mg for a good reason (to do with decreasing one's risk for liver damage/failure). So my thoughts are, even if 1000mgs of Acetaminophen helped your pain momentarily, it would see...

oxycodone 10mg.-650 and 10mg.-325 which one is the stronger pill ?? ## Well, they both have 10mgs of the narcotic Oxycodone, but one of them has more Acetaminophen, 650mgs, so it would be the stronger tablet in respect to that ingredient. These are the active ingredients in Percocet. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other comments or questions?

Percocet 10/325 Curious of which brand is stronger the ones that have M523 on them or the ones that have U17? ## Hello, Cici! How are you? They are both listed as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so it really depends on which one works better for you. Have you tried either one, yet? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

If I add 500 mg of acetaminophen to my 10/325 Percocet will it enhance the effects of the Percocet? ## Hello, Tracy! How are you? The medication you listed already contains Acetaminophen, that is what is designated by the 325, the 10 designates the amount of Oxycodone in it. So no, it is not a good idea to add more. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

which is stronger hydrocodone 7.5/500mg oxycodone-acetaminophen 5-325 ## About the same as oxycodone is about 1.5 times stronger than hydrocodone. ## Regarding the analgesic effect, using a dose conversion, they are actually equivalent. Thus, it would really be a matter of finding out which one is more effective for you, since not every medication works for everyone that tries it. Since these are both narcotics, there is a chance that they could be habit forming and you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Which has been recommended for you? You can learn more Lortab details here. You can learn more Percocet details here. ## I've been taking hydrocod for chronic pain after a botched surgery, I'm very concerned about my liver ....wh...

im sorry i had wrong dose its 10-325 oxycodone-acetaminophen and morphine sulfate ir 30 mg ## Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so if you were taking the 30mgs of Morphine and wanted to switch to Oxycodone, you'd only need 15mgs of the Oxycodone. You can learn more Morphine details here and you can learn more Percocet details here. And, in this case, since you're asking about a generic for Percocet, the Acetaminophen needs to be taken under consideration, because that actually potentiates the action of the Oxycodone, making it stronger, so you may be looking at a different of an additional 2mgs efficacy strength, give or take. Is there anything else I can help with? ## People respond differently to different doses of pain medications. So the relative equa...

im sorry i had wrong dose its 10-325 oxycodone-acetaminophen and morphine sulfate ir 30 mg ## It has been speculated that Oxycodone is approximately 1.5–2 times as potent as Morphine when administered orally. I think their efficacy also largely depends on your body chemistry and how well you tolerate each medication (in relation to the severity of your pain). Because this factor is so different for each individual, there's really no ethical way to compare these two medications on a milligram to milligram basis. If you're looking to compare one or the other, I would suggest asking your doctor for a smaller script that you can use as a trial run, just to see how your body responds to each medication. You can learn more about these drugs on the page for Acetamino...

I have been taking oxycodone every six hours for almost two years for pinched nerves in my neck, arthritis, my lower back, tendinitis, rotator cuff in both arms and meralgia paresthetica in both thighs, but i find it's not really helping like i thought it would. The doctor says i probably need something stronger and maybe even see a pain management doctor but he cant prescribe anything stronger. ## There are higher doses of Oxycodone available without the Acetaminophen, but yes, you would most likely need to see a pain management specialist to see if they can prescribe it for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications?

Is there a difference between Oxycodone 5MG and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-325MG for pain relief? ## Hello, Janet! How are you? Oxycodone is stronger, but the since the Hydrocodone is coupled with Acetaminophen, which can augment that action of the Hydrocodone, it may work better for some people. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have had chronic lower back pain for over 10yrs. I was assaulted in 2014. Suffering from chronic neck & shoulder pain, taking tablets imprinted with '230' but they don't last. Someone told me the 'a333' tablets are better. Are they better? ## Both of these tablets are listed as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so they are the same. The FDA warns that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It might be that you need a higher dosage to alleviate your pain. Have you informed your doctor of the problem?

I was taking hydrocodon 10-325 and now my dr switched me to Percocet 10-325 and when I take it it puts me to sleep for hours and keeps me drowsy all day is this what it is suppose to do when my other hydrocodone didn't do this to me I was able to stay active and alert and do my daily duties. ## Hello, Ricky! How are you? The Oxycodone in the Percocet is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone, so what you're taking now is more potent, which is likely why it's making you drowsy. How long have you been taking it? It should improve after about 4 weeks or so, once your body adjusts to the medication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I get constipated from...

I've taken gabapentin, norco, and then oxycodone. I was taken off the oxycodone recently because I was talking the max six pills a day and my pain was still unbearable. I have five bulging disc and a pinched nerve in my back. I have spinal stenosis. This has caused pain throughout my left side down to my feet. I'm also a diabetic with nerve damage. I'm scared to do multiple rounds of injections in my back. Is there anything I can take to help me at least get some rest. I had to quit my job because I can't sit or stand and the pain is too much ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? There are many other medications to choose from, including Oxycodone in higher doses, without the Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause si...

Hi my name is Rosy and I'm suffering from breast cancer and fibromalgia and spinal stenosis and herniated disks my pain management prescribed me peecocet10mg325 And my primary doctor prescribed me oxicoden 10mg. Cr I feel the this oxicodene10mg.crare not relieve the pain as much is the percoxe 10mg.325 Thank you so much for your help . ## Hello, Rosy! How are you feeling? The reason you may feel that the Percocet relieves your pain more is due to the Acetaminophen that it contains. It helps the Oxycodone to work better for some people that take it. Thus, though they both contain Oxycodone, the Acetaminophen may give it just enough of a boost to help you more. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side ef...

I was given a prescription for each, but don't want to take both...just one of the weaker kind since I'm not in as much pain as usual, which one do I take Soma 350 mg or Oxycodone 10/325 mg? ## These are not both pain medications, so they can't really be compared as to which is stronger, since they are different substances that do different things. Soma is a muscle relaxant that contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol. Learn more Soma details here. And the Oxycodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic analgesic. Learn more Percocet details here. That's likely why you were given both prescriptions, because they both help in different ways. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Well it depends on what you want to take. Those are to different meds. Oxycodone is a p...

ive bee taking 15 mg of oxycodone every 4hrs for chronic pain do to a brain injury that occured about 4 months ago. ive never had ANY cetimeiphen in it ever. please explain why some people do have this and some don't. thanks. p.s oxycodone is definatley stronger than hydrocone. i am about to go to to 15mg of the hydrocodone it works better for me. definitly and last longer. why? ## Hello, Travis! How are you? Some of them contain Acetaminophen, because it augments the narcotic opiate and helps it work better, so it has a stronger effect and works better to relieve pain. However, the narcotic is still effective without it and it isn't necessary to prescribe one that contains Acetaminophen for everyone. It can be very rough on the liver, especially if someone is taking high amount...

My dr. Changed my 20 mg Oxycodone for Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10/325 Which is stronger because the 10/325 isn't working. ## The 20 mg. is 2 times stronger than the 10mg. The 325 part is just Tylenol . The 20 mg is oxycodone which the very strong part that kills your pain . Your Dr. Seems to have cut your pain strength in half. ## @Tessa, I agree with Smith, in that your doctor nearly cut your dose/pain relieving effects in half (even after taking into consideration the 325mgs of Acetaminophen - which is very subtle in my opinion). Subtracting that extra 10mgs of Oxycodone was the biggest alteration and is probably the reason why you're not feeling like the Percocet is working. If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like your doctor is trying to wean you off by prescribing weaker med...

I had surgery on my foot/ankle about 5 days ago. My dr prescribed percocets 5-325 for the first few days and now oxycodone hcl 5. I have only been prescribed percocets after my 3 c-sections so I don't really know a lot about pain killers. I asked my dr what the difference was and she rambled a lot of big words which I didn't understand. I have tried researching but all of the info is so technical. I pretty much want to know.. in layman's terms, or from someone who is or had taken at some point what the actual difference is besides the percocets also have tylenol in them. Is one stronger(even though they are both 5 mg of oxycodone), last longer, different side effects besides liver with use of tylenol? I am asking because I feel like the percocets helped more with the pain an...

This is to answer the question is there a higher dose form of norco the answer is yes it's called Zohydro it was made here in San Diego and has been approved by the Fda and Sea but it might be hard to find and the insurance company might not cover it, it's and extended version kinda like oxycontin for oxycodone and it comes in different doses. Fact not fiction. ## Just to clarify, Zohydro only contains Hydrocodone, in a time released formulation. It does not contain Acetaminophen, like Norco does. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any questions or concerns? ## verwon you are just right as for the side effects but it comes in dosage as l...
