How Strong Is Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 5 300mg

I have been taking hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5-325 TB FOR YEARS FOR CHRONIC PAIN. When I just picked up my most recent prescription the pharmacy substituted Hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5-300 TB. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO MEDICATIONS? Are there different side effects, and how might they manage my pain differently? ## From what you've listed, the only difference is the dosage of Acetaminophen that each contains, one contains 325mgs and the the other contains 300mgs of it. How is it working for you? What are the markings on the tablets? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Codeine is actually a pretty weak opiate, so 60mgs of it is only equal to 9mgs of Hydrocodone. well i found this white pill that says m in a box on one side and 3 on the other side. i ussaly take 2 30mg of the m 30 ones that are30mg of hydrocodiene. the m 3 ones say its 30mg of codiene and 200mg of acephime [ or how ever u spell it ]. how many of the m3's would i have too take to equal a m 30 ## Okay, first lets cover exactly what these tablets contain. The one with the M 30 marking does not contain Hydrocodone, it actually contains 30mgs of Oxycodone, it is a generic for Roxicodone. The pill with the M 3 marking contains 30mgs of Codeine and 300mgs of Acetaminophen. As to the conversion, the amount of Codeine needed to be equal to each 30mg Oxycodone tablet would be 300mgs, because the Codeine is much weaker than Oxycodone. These tablets are manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and they list the one with the 2065 on it as containing 60mgs of Codeine and 300mgs of Acetaminophen, while the one with the 3605 marking contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Codeine is a rather weak opiate, so they Hydrocodone is much stronger. Along with being habit forming, their typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. So this is a generic for Tylenol 3, but it's nowhere near as strong as the Vicodin. Just to give you an example for comparison, you'd actually have to take 50mgs of Codeine to be equivalent to each 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone. is Norco 10—325 mg stronger than vicodin 7.5-300 mg? My doctor changed my prescription to the Vicodin 7.5-300mg without telling me. Is he trying to get me off the Norco or what? My guess on the stronger medication would probably be the Norco 10/325. I tend to believe the 2.5mg difference in Hydrocodone can provide more pain relief than the 25mg difference in Acetaminophen; but that's just me and I'm not a regular user of the stuff.
