How Strong Is 5 Ml Morphine

I am currently on 54 ml. of Ordine 10, 150 mg Fentanyl patch, and 80 mg Targin, equivalent to about 1,200 mg of morphine a day. My pain specialist wants me to change to methadone or suboxone. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. ## Hello, Allan! How are you? Most people have said that Suboxone didn't do much for their pain, so if you need pain relief, you might be better off with the Methadone. I've never taken either one myself, I am just stating what I've learned from other posters on this site. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My best friend is in stage 4 liver cancer. The doctor has her on 125 ml of morphine. She has a patch containing morphine and pills with morphine. She doesn't say much about her pain. Does anyone know if this dose of morphine is strong?I know she is never without pain. ## Well, you didn't state the dosages of everything she is using, however, as long as she is being medically monitored on a regular basis, by her doctor, then there should not be a problem. I was on 100mls of methodone and then 50 mls of fentayl patch, and now taking 6mls of timereales diauldid which is not working ## Did your doctor direct you to make this switch? Because 6mgs of Dilaudid is not going to be equivalent to the 100mcgs of Fentanyl. It's the most powerful one available and is over 80 times stronger than Morphine. Learn more Dilaudid details here. round tablet, white, imprinted with gg 225 ## This would not be a round tablet because it is intraenous diloted is given through the IV or picline. It is stronger than morphine but if needed it can be very helpful. Like morhpine, it can give you a head rush. I am taken .6 mg or 3-4 ml ## Tablets are never given intravenuously, far too dangerous, only specially prepared liquids are.

hello i have chronic back pain ive been on a bunch of pills and nothing seems to be working as of now im taking 4 percocets a day and this new thing called kadian 100 mg sustained release just asking what it compares to cuz i was just on hydro morph cotin 24 ml twice a day with 4 percocets just asking if this 100 mg kadian is just like a hydro cotin if it is like a hydro cotin what mg would my kadian 100 mg compare ## This is an old post, but kadian 100 is morphine - sustained release for 12 hrs- and is a very high dose. Hydromorphone is a stronger drug. You must have tolerance to high opioid doses to take Kadian 100 (or overdose is likely). I took it for years, but have gradually tapered down to 30 mg twice daily. It took about 2 yrs to taper that much.
