anyone else taking generic tylenol 4 made by teva? my pharmacy just switched brands and taking ONE feels like i'm taking FOUR. but that's only every third pill... they dont feel consistent but regardless they feel WAYYYY over the regular strength of codeine. it feels like i'm taking codiene and vicodin at the same timme and i hate it. ## Is there any chance that the times when it seems to hit stronger are also times where you might have eaten less, or not eaten anything yet? I've been taking 2 Norco 10s for years. I've just decided to try and switch to Tylenol 3s. For less Dr visits and refill purposes. I got my script filled today for my pain I'm having from a miscarriage. He said he wrote me script for Tylenol with codeine but they're not helping much, and here it says it's just Tylenol.. I ask because there are Acetaminophen pills with A325 stamped on them, but they also have the letters GPI above. (see NDC 0904-1982 for example). Those pills do contain the active ingredient found in regular Tylenol, but without Codeine. Does the photo below match what you have?

I understand ty's #3, #4 work best with tylenol or acetaminophen. Can it be compounded at a pharmacy? And perhaps without as much acetaminophen or tylenol, for health's sake and saving people from dying bc they need a higher dose of codeine? I have a infected wisdom tooth so my doctor prescribed me these on top ofpeniciilin. All the tylonel is doing is maken me feel sick all the time. Ive tryd eating on them but no matter what i feel like im going to be sick but i cant deal with the pain. What do i do ## Nicki, it's probably the Codeine in the Tylenol #4. I dealt with the same thing once and the doctor had to switch me to Vicodin, as it contains a different narcotic ingredient. I have been reading some information, and I am wondering if Tylenol 3 is the same as Hydrocodone? ## Based on my research, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: Acetaminophen + Codeine. But "NOT" Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is alot like codeine, except that codeine is said to be a natural derivative of opium plants whilst hydrocodone is synthetic. Is Hydrocodone the same or contain the same ingredients/drugs as Tylenol 3 with codiene? ## From what I could gather, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: acetaminophen + codeine. Inactive ingredients complete the composition of this medication. So to better answer your question, hydrocodone is not the same, nor is it even contained in this medication. You might be thinking of norco or lortab, which contain a similar combination of acetaminophen + hydrocodone. Both medications are used for pain relief, but I'd consider hydrocodone to be much more potent than codeine from my own experience. I take 8 - 30mg Codeine daily, put some days need a bit more. I have some Hydrocodone 5/ace 500. can I add one or two of these, or take additional Codeine ## You can take 60 mg of Codeine every 4 hrs. But, if they contain 500 mg of tylenol instead of 325 mg, you can only take 2 every 6 hrs due to the high amount of tylenol. Hydrocodone is stronger that Codeine, so you may want to take the hydrocodone only instead.

Doctor prescribed Tylenol #4 for shingles pain. Can Tylenol #4 be split in half? There is too much codeine in a whole one. It makes me light headed and nauseous. ## To the person asking about splitting Tylenol # 4 in half as it is making you feel nausea. My advice would be to make sure you're not talking it on an empty stomach, as with most pain medications they should be taken with food, however, always read and follow any prescriptions directions and understand their side effects. I would immediately stop taking the medication and consult your Doctor to insure your not taking any conflicting medications; or try a synthetic pain reliever such as Hydrocodone, as many people are allergic to Codeine.
