I've been on dilaudid 4mgs for 9 years for damaged pancreas and now I have hip problems that are very painful, and the pain medication is not controlling the pain.. It's maddening....hopeless. ## Hello, Joy! How are you? I am sorry that you're in so much pain. It goes as high as 32mgs, so there are higher doses you can try. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What other medications have you tried? ## Since the year 2000 I was prescribed 180 60mg at a time of morphine extended release and morphine 15mg extended release three times a day each +184 5mg oxycodone instant release tablets per day. how many 8mg dilaudid is there in a pint or 170ml? ## There's no way to answer this, without knowing the dosage of the liquid you're asking about. It should say how many mgs per ml, since the dosage can vary. Learn more Hydromorphone details here. Can you please post back with more details? If so, I'll gladly help! Thanks!

i need a pharmacy that will fill my Rx for dilaudid #8 ## why is diluadid on backorder and when will it be available in columbus, ohio? ## I'm sorry, the only thing I can guess as to why it is on backorder has to do with some recent changes made by the FDA. Some companies have been marketing unnapproved versions of these medications and they have made them remove them from the market until they undergo product quality and safety tests. This has affected many drugs on the market in the past few months. There have been several posts about this one our site, as well as many others, even nurses in hospitals have mentioned getting notifications from their pharmacies regarding a shortage. That said, I am sorry, I have no information for you on when it will be available again in ANY area. ...

Can't seem to find a pic to identify. Too many generic pills out there. Do you have a suggestion of how I can get the correct type of medication generic name? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. The imprints would be the only way to positively identify that tablets. Is there any chance that you could get someone else to look at them for you and post back with the markings? Do you still have the original bottles? My dr lied to me and said she was giving me 2mg and .5 of oral dilaudid. When I explained .5 didn't do s*** for me last night, she said she would up the doses so cold get some sleep. I was up till after 4 am crying for the last 3 weeks. ## Hello, Heather! How are you? There is no .5mg of oral Dialudid available in the U.S. The dosing starts at 2mgs. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What do you feel your doctor lied about? I apologize, but I'm not understanding what you're asking. ## I usually take 8 mg dilaudid every 2-3 hours. By mistake I took two 8mg at the same time. I have been on one form or another of narcotics for many years due to a...

My doctor no longer prescribes narcotics. I have 4 bulged discs, a degenerative disc and sciatica. I have been on Dilaudid 8 mg 3 times a day for months. I went to a pain specialist who will only prescribe 4 mg and only one per day. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't afraid to write the scripts needed for chronic pain? I live in the Orlando area but am willing to drive to get the medication I need. I'm desperate! ## Marilyn, I'm sure this has little to do with you but the DEA in conjunction with state regulatory agencies have been notified that further prescribing of this potent narcotic opiate/opioid will result in their displeasure. Dilaudid, also referred to as hospital heroin for the intense euphoric pleasure it produces when administered intravenously, causes many to a...

I have been on Dilaudid for over 2 years now and I can't seem to get off of it. I'm under a doctor's care, but anyone who is on it knows it's very addicting! I think like everybody else, it's no good if you take it orally. It's only effective other ways. I always run out of Dilaudid before my prescription is ready to refill and recently I filled a script for oxycontin 40 mg to see if they could replace my 4 mg Dilaudid. However, I took 1/2 of a 40 mg. and felt nothing. An hour later I took my 4 mg Dilaudid and it seems to have worked. But they are very short lived, that's why for chronic pain they like to give these stupid time release pain pills. How many mg.'s does equal the same amount of Dilaudid? I also would like to know if anyone has ever tapered o...

I had a knee surgery yesterday. I have been using subutex to help me taper narcotics. I stopped the subutex 2 weeks before surgery. My doctor prescribed both percocet and oxycontin. I am getting no pain relief. The iv Dilaudid worked in the hospital. Has anyone taken Dilaudid by pill at home? ## I have suffered with chronic neck and back pain for years due to disk and nerve problems. My Dr. switched me from oxycontin to diulaudid (4-8 mg) and it worked for the first 9 mos. or so, then I got no relief. Many people get sick on it or very itchy. I am now on a higher dosage of Percoset. ## Are you familiar with subutex? ## No, I'm not. ## It is a new drug that has some pain killing ability. It is a controlled substance. When you take it other narcotics don't work. So it is good for ...

Can u give ur dog dilaudid for pain he has teeth pain badly gonna be having all his teeth pulled very soon but he's in a lot of pain now and he ran out of his and I don't have the money to get a refill. And if he can how many MG's an old I give him......??????? ## I wouldn't recommend administering strong medication like Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) without first consulting your pet's veterinarian. However, from what I understand, the dosage is generally determined by the weight of your dog. According to wikipedia, the recommended dose of Hydromorphone for dogs is listed at 0.05 - 0.1 mg/per kg of body weight, to be administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously every 24 hours. Were you planning on giving your dog actual pills or going the IV route? ## In relation to giv...

I have been receiving generic dilaudid 2 mg which were round white pills with M on one side and 2 on the other. I just filled my dilaudid which came from Med-Fast and the pill is a salmon-orange color with a P and a 2 on them, but nowhere does it say generic for dilaudid. After taking the first pill, I was very very itchy. Could this be a different generic drug? Oh, by the way there was a RED STICKER that said - DO NOT USE BEYOND 9/30/2016. I called the pharmacy and they said it is okay to take. I'm concerned. I have many allergies and with this dilaudid I was getting I did not have any side effects. ## Hello, Rose! How are you? The pharmacy doesn't actually have to list on the label that it is a generic for any particular name brand, though they should make sure that you are aw...

I have a wonderful painful disease called pls. My pain management doctor has me on 100 mg of Fentynal, 4 mg as need of dilaudid,10 mg of baclofen. My crazy doctor has me on temazepam, klonopin 2 mg. My neurologist wants me to get off as many as possible. So, wonderful me stopped taking some of my medicine. I stopped the temazepam with no problems, I did not have a refill on my klonopin so went a week off of that. Just a little nausea. I separated my baclofen out from 3 a day to 2 a day. No problem. Then I took 1/2 of a dilaudid and went into a spiral like no other. I was sick when I took 1/2, sick when I didn't. Had chest pains, eyes twitched, air hurt the hair on my arms, throwing up, wrenching and praying for it to be over. Friday night I Called my dr... He told me to go to the ER...

Dilaudid is a semi synthetic keytone or Hydromorphone HCL, so it is i feel its twice the potency of morphine, short acting though. I take 70mg Methadone HCL and Dilaudid for breakthrough pain. I did also get Percocet 10/325 but after this new law he would not give me a one. I never ever felt like a dope addict but yet feel they are scrutinizing me at some pharmacies. I am sick to death and because some people are just plain ignorant they ruined many lives of good upstanding folks of all ages. If he continues to cut me down i will go to another. I need help with that but i have no idea where to go in the Denver metro area. ## I don't understand how you are able to feel any narcotic with 70 mgs. of methadone in your system. how many mg of dilauded is equal 15mg or 30mg to oxycodone o have to lower my dose by 30, 30mg oxy's or 60 , 15mg"s but need to know my options TKs! ## Hello, Alice! How are you? You'd need 5.62mgs of Dilaudid to equal each 15mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking, so around 11.25mgs to be equal to the 30mg dosage. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## D''s are much stronger I'm or I've. Icy is stronger oral than d's bit over d's are the best pain mess. ( 4 mg I'v is like 30-50 mg of oxy oral).

I am on 30mg Roxycotin (oxycodone) 180 tablets per month. I have insurance, however, cannot find a pharmacy that has supplies of prescription (I hear many people are having this issue recently). My doctor might prescribe an alternative. I am very afraid of the alternative due to not understanding how medications translate. I fear it not being adequate for me to function and go to work. What is a viable alternative? Does anybody know. I am told dilaudid (I cannot spell the med.) But the doctor is saying 8mg. in the amount of 110 pills (as opposed to 30mg of oxycodone in the amount of 180 pills) that I am currently prescribed. It looks like a serious drop in the ammount and mg. of medication. I fear the worst. Anybody have any advice. It would be greatly appreciated. ## dear freind; the r...

LVPI has stopped prescribing eff jan 1. Are there any dr's not afraid of DEA? Morphine..dilaudid etc make me loopy. with bleeding ulcers..percs etc are out of the question..HELP ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are still worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). I'm sure there's still a good percentage out there who will drift from the pack and prescribe whate...

I was given 50 mg. of Demerol and 4 mg. of Dilaudid for a headache. I have had many meds before for migraines but I was disoriented for three days and my skin was crawling and I was so weak, is that a high dosages at once? ## That would be my guess, the Dilaudid was too strong for you to jump right to it. It is a very strong narcotic, hydromorphone, that is why it is only 4mgs, it is very potent. If you aren't already tolerant to narcotics, then jumping to that dose will cause the problems you were having, as well as some withdrawals if you took a few and then quit taking it altogether. There are other alternatives that you can try, so rather than live with the adverse effects, talk to your doctor about maybe just trying to Demerol for awhile, or Percocet, Vicodin, something like th...

I take oxicodone 10mg for a bad back & they just don't seam to work that well. I was told delotta is better & less sight effects. And it is a very potent narcotic that like any other will require a doctor's prescription. However, it is slightly stronger than the Oxycodone and you'd only require 3.75mgs of it for each 10mgs of the Oxycodone. Learn more Dilaudid details here.
