I have ten suboxones. I have been taking oxycontin for pain but want to try at home to w/d. I can't discuss this with my doctor as it will affect my insurance. This is a fact..in my case... Can someone on here tell me how to take my subs? I would appreciate any answers and no lectures. How many do I need to withdraw..Thanks so much. ## You have to be off the oxycontin long enough to start feeling the withdrawals, THEN, and only then, you take the suboxone. I was on a high dose of hydrocodone, and just 2mg calmed me down. Make what you have last. Start with 2mg, if that doesn't help, take another 2mg. Just a little - it goes a long way. ## Suboxone contains a powerful opiate Buprenoprhine, with the agonist Naloxone. So, it can also put opiate users into withdrawals if it is not u...

Hello, I recently got a job bus driving for my local school district. The same district my kids are in. I've been on suboxone for awhile now and I've searched the Internet for hours and I'm just making myself a nervous wreck. I need to know if they will approve my cdl being on subs. My dr has already said he will sign whatever I need him to as he knows I'm very responsible with my medication. I'm scared to death I will fail the physical and my kids school will then know. It's a very small town. Everybody knows everybody. I'm so excited for this opportunity. But I don't want it to affect my kids. I'm on Ohio. Thank you in advance

I am try ing to get off suboxoneand xanax. I am taking about 1/8 of a 2mg suboxane 2 x a day and down to 1 .5mg xanax a day. I am getting blurred vision, confusion, anxiety, trouble sleeping. Tremors, When I take a little more suboxone, it goes away. I was down to 1/2a .5mg xanax and 1/4 to less of a suboxone a day, but the withdrawls from the suboxone ocurred w/in 2-3 days. diarrhea, sweats, anxiety, How do I gat off this with the least affects? ## Geographic location is Florida, I have been on Suboxone and Xanax for over a year and a half. Just want to know best way to stop taking it without the scary side-effects with the vision and tremors. ## The Buprenorphine in the Suboxone is a very potent narcotic, so it does require a very, very slow taper to stop taking it and avoid the bad w...

Are there adverse affects from takin suboxone and hydrocodone...im worried about my unborn nephew!! ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I understand your concern and am happy to address this for you. First, if a woman is pregnant, she should be taking Subutex, rather than Suboxone, because the Naloxone in Suboxone may have adverse effects on the baby. Additionally, if she is taking Lortab with it, there is no reason whatsoever to be doing so. The Naloxone also blocks the effects of other opiates, so they won't have any effect or help with pain. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is her OB Gyn aware that she's taking both?

I would like to know how many others are harmed from long term suboxone use. ## I began this bc of the Devastating results from suboxone use prescribed for over 3 years...nearly dying coming off it alone but tapering and after over a year the incredible affects still bothering me mentally and physically including my kidneys, bp, memory, no real motivation....the more I know the more I can try to do something for all of us!!! ## Hello, Liz! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the bad experience you've had. Suboxone, however, is an opiate, so withdrawals will be very tough and some effects may linger for a long time. There are risks associated with all medications, you really just have to learn everything you can about them, so you can make an informed decision on whether or n...

I am havin stomach cramps, runny nose, cold sweats/chills but no diarrhea yet. My refill date is in three days for my methadone and I'm also worried about how the affect will be and long I need to wait before I can take my methadone again...? I only want to take the subs to get by this 3-4 day withdrawal. Honest and accurate opinions, please! I've been on Mdone for 10 years at 120mg a day. ## @Trapped, I've been browsing through some of the related threads here and I'm seeing the vast majority of patients who've gone from Methadone to Suboxone predominately state that you should wait at least 48 hours after your last dose of Methadone before having Suboxone. (i.e. waiting until you're in a state of withdrawal; otherwise the Suboxone won't work). Concerning yo...

Want to know how many 8mg suboxone strips it takes to reach the 'ceiling effect' which docs say is equivalent to 30mg of methadone? ## Sub dr. told me 32mg or 4 of the 8/2 strips. In my opinion thats way too much sub for anyone to be on anyways. ## I never felt suboxone, whether I took 1 or 4, subutex ceiling affect for me was 4 or 32 mg... ## Hey christian777, Your not suppose to feel suboxone. It doesn't make you high. You might feel something very slightly at first but that goes away quickly and you just feel normal. Ceiling effect just means that after so many mgs the drug just can,t do anymore for you. Thats why when someone needs more than lets say 30mgs of methadone to "feel right " suboxone may not be the best choice for them. Methadone has no ceiling effect ...

I started my program today. 4mg per day is the magic number. I had to take one 2mg then wait an hour to see the Dr again. Then given another 2mg. When I left I felt like I was high. About an hour later I started to throw up. Does it help to take this with food? I know it's a side affect, does it go away? ## I am not sure how much taking it with food would help, since it is making you sick. You may want to consult with the doctor or a pharmacist before trying that. They may also have some other ideas on how to help the nausea. And yes, it will taper off as your body adjusts to the medication. You may also experience: dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. I am new to taking.suboxone . I have 8mg strip, I'm not wanting to take the whole thing without knowing how it affects me and was wondering if it still works the same if I cut it in half. I also am bad about the taste of meds if I was to take a drink and ball the strip up and drop it in the pop in my mouth and swallow it if it will work the same also ? ## Yes, you can cut them, they aren't time released. The FDA lists this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And yes, though you should take it, as instructed by your doctor. But swallowing it just causes it take a little longer to start entering your blood stream. Is there anything else I can help with? #...

need to kno if i can take 4mg suboxone ang 50mg phenergan? ## My findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions that apply to the active ingredients in each of those medications. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using promethazine (phenergan) together with buprenorphine (suboxone) may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. I took suboxone 10 hours ago is it safe to take a Xanax now ## Hello, Scott! How are you? Xanax is a benzodiazepine, so Suboxone does not affect how it works. The FDA warns that Xanax carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and irritability. The side effects may be intensified, so please be careful of that and only combine them, if your doctor has said it is safe for you to do so and is monitoring you regularly. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would like to know how the medicine effects you over a period of time. Sometimes I wake up at night because I have being jerking, a whole body spasm. This occurs almost every night, sometimes it is only my legs or arms. This didn't start until I started the Suboxone a couple weeks ago. I just want a pictogram or detailed description on what is can do to the brain in the long run. ## I can't send you anything, because you didn't include any contact information in your post. It isn't just your brain that Opiates affect, they also affect the rest of your body and yes, with long term use, some damage can be permanent.

Does the Suboxone pill with 5721 on it taste like oranges to anyone else? ## No. I just googled the exact question, then put them in my mouth and are completely DIFFERENT tasting. The round white pill 5721 is almost like an Altoid, although I just brushed my teeth before I took the dose, so that may affect my tasting. Your answer is no. ## The inactive ingredients in this tablet were listed as: acesulfame potassium, citric acid anhydrous, corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, mannitol, povidone k30, trisodium citrate dihydrate. So. it's possible that the citric acid can cause a slight citrus like taste. The FDA also warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and const...

I take a 1/2 to 1- 8MG strip daily. I have now been prescribed klonopin 1mg at bedtime and will possibly be going up to 2MG in a month or two. I know there are a lot of mixed feelings on benzos and subs but I've been on subs for a pretty good while now and have been diagnosed with lots of health issues recently including epilepsy. I just cannot sleep and the lack of sleep really affects my seizures so the klonopin really is our last resort. We've tried 4 other meds including neurontin (I'm not sure how u spell that lol). I never really even in my active addiction days was a fan of benzos. So will this be ok to take? My Dr obviously thinks so... but I'd like other opinions I suppose. I'm a worrier and I have severe anxiety and panic attacks as well and he thinks this ...

After taking 98 mg of methadone for the past 9 yrs, is it possible 2 switch 2 suboxone? My body was significantly abused when i was out there, lots of back injuries, no pain w/ methadone. Does suboxone do this also? I work a very physical job. ## I would definitely see a dr.... that's a high dose, it stays in your muscles and can affect your heart (it's a muscle); I thought well I can do this 3.5 yrs for pain control. I was on everything under the sun. I lost 2 yrs, no memories from all the combos, 6 spine surgeries, 4 in 7 mo.... gave up all meds and started inj's. inside joints which didn't help. Then after 15 yrs hear of nerve burns similar to the blocks but they actually go in with needles n burn your nerves; wonderful great mostly pain free. Got rid of all drugs exc...

I am on 3 suboxones a day the highest dose. 1 mg of klonopin 3 times a day and 100 mg of lamictal twice a day. Is this safe? And what are the side affects. I find I am lathargic, high, extremely tired and get the nods and slurred speech. I feel high as a kite and fall asleep very easy but don't want to end up im a coma. Is this normal? I also have trouble keeping my eyes open and focusing it's almost like I am high as a kite but not a good high. Please help. ## Hello, Marcus! How are you dong? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. I just moved here from Tn. I'm having a very hard time finding a doc. here. I've been without my meds now 6 days and I'm feeling the withdrawal affects. Please help ## There is a website that has a search engine so you can check for doctors that treat with it in your area. Suboxone.com click here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can you post back and let me know if you have any luck? :-)
