Withdrawal from Oxycodone

I've been taking oxycodone 10 mg for the last five months. Today is my first day without. How long will it take to get it out of my body. ## It takes about a week for the withdrawals to go away. If you have gabapentin, double up on that, it will take away nearly all of your withdrawals away. ## @Debbie (thread starter), According to, Oxycodone's elimination half life ranges from 3-4 hours in its immediate release form. Given this information, you can do some math to get a general idea of how long it might take to be completely excreted. For example: A 10mg dose could dwindle down to a mere 0.00072mg within about 24 hours, based on a 3 hour half life (dividing the dose in half, and half of every subsequent half every 3 hours). As post #1 suggested, my findings also indica... ...

Day 3 and the devil is still just sitting on my shoulder....I can't beleive how well I am actually feeling...Am I kidding myself, or could the worst still come? Over the last 7 years, I have been on morphine, percs, dilauded, etc, etc. Three days ago my oxy mg was 140 a day...What's up? Please help? ## In my opinion, It depends on how you are feeling now. the worst could be over. However, the devil will always be there from now on. You have to remember that only you and GOD can shake him off. Along with a good support system you can get rid of any addiction, just always remind yourself that you are strongger than any drug that man can make. GOD BLESS YOU, and remind the devil that you have GOD on your side from now on. ## It is also highly possible, that since you were taking th... ...

Was on Norco 10-325 on and off for a few years due to back problems. Had l4/l5 Laminectomy and was sent home with 5mg oxicodone. It's been 16 days since surgery and I tapered down from 2.5 yesterday. Last one last night at 10 pm. Withdrawals kicked in at 2:30 pm today! Not too bad. But the abdominal pain is bad when the immodium wears off. How long will this last and will it get better or worse physically tomorrow and the next day? No RLS yet. Is it comming???? I want to be done! ## Just wondering how your withdrawal experience went? I weaned the exact same way Im down to 2.5 mg tomorrow for two days then Im done. Just curious what Im in for?! ## I found the rebound pain to be the worst problem, when I stopped pain management, but I didn't taper. I just stopped. But I had extrem... ...

Ive been taking 20 mg oxycodone daily for the past 6 months just to take the edge off, didnt think it would be that big of a deal because Im not very familiar with the drug. Before that i was a heavy H addict for 13 years, but have been clean for the past year after going through a 2 year program at a commune. The last 2 days Ive been taking half a pill (5 mg) early in the day before work, than another 5 mg after work to somehow get throught the day. I got 3 days to myself now. I know its not comparable to the numerous weeks, months and years of withdrawals Ive gone through but its always messed up kicking this. What are the best household remedies i can use and can i get off this garbage in these 3 days? ## Hello, Quickz! If you're down that low, the withdrawals at this point shoul... ...

Have been using opiets for over 35 years. Started with auto accident. Doctor prescribed over a long period then passed away. Was addicted and had to purchase illegally locally. Now still having problem with addiction and paying most of my SSI and Retirement for what I can get. Went to a mandatory class in Elizabeth City, NC several times weekly just to be able to get prescription for Suboxone. It worked but got tired of sitting 3 hours in class with young people and now back on the hard stuff. Why can one purchase cigarettes and liquor that kills but I can't get the necessary drugs to make me feel normal. Is there any help in sight? ## One of the many flaws of this country is how our federal government controls and regulates whatever it is they "consider" to be safe and disr... ...

How long to wait after suboxone to take oxycodone.
5 Replies RSS
I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. However, I just don't want to waste the 15mg of oxycodone that I do have. Also, do i have any risk of randomly having withdrawals from the oxycodone after taking it this one time? ## Also, I forgot to mention that it has been almost 2 days since the last dose of suboxone(which was about 3mg). ## I'd like to know the answer to this as well as most cases have people who have been on sub for years. ## Finally the question I need answerd... and no an... ...

I've tapered down from 20 mg oxycodone ( for 3 months for back pain) to 5mg for the last eight days. I want to get this process over with, of course. I could drop to 2.5 for week or just stop oxycodone now and prepare for the symptoms. My dr has given me adavan and clonidine. Advice please. ## So, you sent from 4 x 5mg per day to 1 x 5mg per day? Is your pain under control? 3 months isn't that long of time. If I were you, I'd change to 2.5 mg 2x per day then cut it to 2.5 once a day then that is it. ## When you think u tapperd down enough dont do none for 2 whole days then after 48 hours take a little bit, but dont get all loaded. Just take the edge off a little so you will sleep and wake up almost normal. I'm about to do it, hopefully i can quit. It's a mother f***e... ...

I'm wondering if I'll have any kind of withdrawals going from 120 mg of Oxycodone a day down to 60 mg a day or will things be fine since I'll still have it in my system? ## Yes, you will likely experience some minor withdrawal effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, rebound pain and chills. That's a pretty big drop, it's usually best to do a slow, gradual taper. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very much. Do you know about how long that will last? ## I went down from 120 mg Oxycodone to 60 mg & I'm going on my first 24 hrs with only a single 20 mg pill left can someone please tell me what I can do about withdrawals for 2 days & detox isn't an option for me...Thank you ## You can take Imodium.... ...

Please help! (Long read but I am a single mom & don’t want to withdraw around my kids) I’m 26, have chronic pain, and been on Oxycodone for two years. A month ago, my pain was under control and almost gone. My pain management doctor & I decided to wean me off of the medication slowly. I cut down from Roxi 15s 5x per day to Oxy 10HCL 4x per day. I had a flare up when taking my two kids to the zoo, took more than prescribed & was allowed to refill a few days early. They gave me a month’s supply. This was two weeks ago. My pain was still flared & I continued to take the same dose as if I was still on ... ...

i have been on fentanyl 25mcg for about a yr. i am decreasing to 12.5 mcg for a week and then no more patches after. how long will it take to considering the info. will it take for the withdrawal to start and stop. i understand everyone is different. i will be taking valium 5mg for a couple days to ease the effects. any info would be great. ## Yes, everyone is different, so it really makes it hard to say, because it is going to vary. I stopped heavy doses of Oxycodone and Morphine cold turkey, after being on them for about 6 or 7 years for pain management and my withdrawal symptoms lasted for about a month. Hopefully the Valium will help. Has your doctor given you any other advice? ## Thanks for ur info. Several yrs ago I stopped fiorcet w codeine (on it for 4 yrs) and it took about tha... ...

Since those 2 days I was taking Percocets does that count as tapering to help the withdrawal a little. Oxycodone Vs Fentanyl Withdrawals
39 Replies RSS
I have just switched from oxycodone to fentanyl patches. I will be withdrawing from them following sugery. any suggestions as to which is easier to withdraw from? Thanks!!! ## Well, the Fentanyl is actually much stronger than the Oxycodone, a 0.025mg dosage of it is equal to 5mgs of Oxycodone, so it is going to be the harder one to withdraw from, if it is stopped abruptly. However, the other fact of relevance is how long you will be using it. If it is only for a short period of time, them the withdrawals may not be too rough, though they may still be annoying. Has your doctor provided you with any advice? ## i have been on fentanyl for a long time. prior to this was on a bunch of oxycodone. to give you an idea i was taking anywhere to 3 or 4 of the 80s per day and 5 or 6 of the Roxi 30s... ...

Day 2 (36 hours) into withdrawal. I dont feel to bad at all. A little tired, sweat at night bit slept well. Am I out of the woods yet? Yesterday evening was terrible, my body felt like I had to move my arms and legs. But I slept through the night. Getting ready to get ip now and prepare for my day ## That is a very low dose, so your withdrawal effects are likely to be mild, unless you've been taking it a lot of it each day, or been on it for a very long period of time. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic that carries the risk of being habit forming and its withdrawal effects may include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, diarrhea and rebound pain. How are you feeling, now? Any change? ...

Is is possible to have withdrawals from hydrocodone, even though I am now taking oxycodone? Bad sleep, short of breath, anxiety, extremely tired. I thought I was sick, but I recall feeling like this when I was going off another addictive medication. I take klonopin to help me sleep, but want to take a hyrocodone right now to see if my anxiety will ease up...Any suggestions? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? No, Oxycodone is slightly stronger than Hydrocodone, so you shouldn't be experiencing withdrawals. Those same side effects could be due to starting the new medication, though. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have taken one quarter of a methdaone wafer for the last 2 days. I know it takes 3-7 days to withdrawal. does this mean I am almost clean? ## Hi Samantha, From my perspective it sounds like your strong intention to be off oxycodone will help make it an easier mental transition towards going with out them... but not having gone through this myself, I wouldn't know what amount of possible physical withdrawal symptoms to anticipate.
