Fentanyl Patch
Hi I am on 25MCG Patches do you ever get used to the weird feelins in your head or is that the trade off for no pai? ## You mean they actually take you pain away? Do they make you sick to your stomach? If your only problem is a bit of a funny feeling in your hear, then I would say, deal with it. But be careful if you go out driving. If you are pulled over, and act kind of drunk, you will get a DUI. ## All the funny feelings will go away with time. Make sure your Dr. Will continue to treat you and not decide one day you don't need it no more when nothings changed. You'll get sick for a good four days from the withdrawal. No sleep, restless leg syndrome etc. great pain reliever just don't abuse it and it'll work great and in a short time you won't even know you have it... ...

how long does it take for my 50mcg patch to work
I put on my 50mcg patch 15hrs ago. Should I not feel the full effect of relief by now? ## Dear Richard, yes, u should feel it by now. I use 2 b on the patch, but they never really worked well 4 me. Maybe your like I was or u need an increase.GOOD LUCK! ## Hello, Richard! How are you? A Fentanyl patch? If so, Cats68 is right and you should be feeling some effect by now. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. But, they also don't work well for everyone. Have you informed your doctor, yet? ...

Fentanyl Patch 100mg
hi i have been on these patches for 4 months now but i still have pain ## Have you consulted your doctor? Do you have any medications for breakthrough pain? Usually, for proper pain management, something long acting like the Fentanyl is used and then some that works immediately, or a regular release medication, is also given for those times the pain is too much for the long acting medication to completely control. ## I am on 25mcgs of fentynal patches every 72 hours, plus 10/325 pecocet 1 every 4-6 hours for BT pain. The Percocet doesn't do much, and is very similar to my previous prescription of Norco and the patch isn't strong enough and runs out after 48 hours. I am going to ask for 48 hours, and 50mcgs on the patch, and switching to oxycontin for B.T. pain.Hows that sound to ... ...

Fentanyl jelly patch
what is the difference between liquid and jelly types ## I'am on 75 mcg of fentanyl patch jelly form. I found when i used the other fentanyl patches with the glue all over them i would break out from the glue. So what is the difference between the patches and do they work as well. I was told to use a steroid nasal spray under the patch before applying it, but everyone i've asked has never heard of using the spray before applying patch. So i've decided to just stay with the jelly form. Has anyone else had this problem and do the patches work the same jelly patches versus the ones with glue all over them. I'm still not getting much relief anyway, i've had chronic pain for some time and i'm only 52 but due to all my health problems i really don't have a life any... ...

fentanyl
it is a patch that is called transdermal system and it says 25 mcg/hr and also says each transdermal system contains: 2.55 mg fentanyl Iam a first time user on this meaication what would it do to me????? ## Well, this can have some adverse effects. I am not sure if you have previously used narcotics, I know this should not be used by anyone who has not already built up a narcotic tolerance as it is a very, very strong med. 80 times stronger than Morphine as a matter of fact. My doctor tried taking from Darvocet to the patch 25s and I was so sick, for days, that I couldn't even hold down water, even when she gave me the strongest antinausea that she could. Some people love these, they can work wonders for pain, but they don't agree with some people, so you will basically have to ... ...

Fentanyl-Not Working?
Hello. I am on the Fentanyl 50mcg patch taken the standard way. Change every 72 hours. I have been on the patch for almost a week. I am on the patch for excruciating thigh and lower leg pain due to spinal problems.Tomorrow will be my third new patch. My questions are: I have yet to notice anything that seems like pain relief. Nothing. Should I have noticed any kind of relief by now, or does it take longer than I've allowed it so far. ## Hello, Greg! How are you? Yes, you should've noticed some pain relief within an hour or so of putting on the first one. However, it is possible that it just might not work for you. Have you contacted your doctor about it? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzines... ...

How Long Does Oxycodone Work
I am being changed from 50mch every 48 hrs and 40 mg of hydrocodone a day to oxycodone and the doc only gave me 15 mg three times a day ir release and i am hurting bad. i have a feeling this is not even close to what i am use to. what should i do or say to my doc. i am working with the va military docs which are very strict. ## So you were on a Fentanyl patch that you changed every 48 hours and the Hydrocodone and they've now cut you down to 15mgs of Oxycodone 3 times a day? There's really no way this is going to work, you're going from a time release patch of the most potent narcotic available, down to just 45mgs a day of Oxycodone and that's not even taking the additional Hydrocodone into account. Did they say why they made the switch? Learn more Oxycodone details here... ...

Fentanyl patch defective ?
My husband is on a 12 mcg ratio-fentanyl patch every 3 days for pain management..I've noticed there is writing on the patch when I put it on him, & when I take it off, the writing is gone..I assume that's the way it's supposed to work.. The patches in the last box still had ALL the writing on them when I removed them, & he hasn't been feeling well for over a week or so..I opened a new box & it's doing the same thing- - writing still there..I plan to contact the company, but it's a holliday here, drugstore, doctor, all unavailable..Any ideas ?? Is the writing a clue that the patch is, or isn't working ?? ## I have never heard of a patch that used such a thing to show that it was working. It may help if I could check it out more closely, what countr... ...

norspan to fentanyl patch
hi ive been on a norspan patch (15mg) for some months. methadone tablets before that for some yrs post lower back fusion, S1-L5 in 2003. the norspan patch has not covered the pain control so my specialist ordered an MRI and now I have a protruding disc at L4. this was to be expected I was told due to the extra workload on my lower back. I have been given the fentanyl patch and told that it will be increasing next visit but I was not told to just stop the norspan or ween off slowly? Due to constant itching on the norspan Im coming off at 5mg/week anyway but not sure if now I should just take patch off and be done with it? I do not want to if possible go thru to many withdrawal symptoms? Thanks for any answers ## I am in a similar situation. Have been taking norspan 20mg for over 12 month... ...

Fentanyl patch falling off
my patch keeps coming off prematurely. can you recommend a solution? ## You can buy Tegaderm at Walgreen's, it's an occlusive dressing and apply it over the patch and as long as you don't have adhesive allergies it should hold through showers, etc. until the next patch is needed. Sometimes happens, may ask doctor about changing brands, some do better than others, good luck. ## I had the same problem.Went to Walgreen's and purchased Nexcare (I believe that's the brand). It is a clear sticky cover which works keeping the patch on! Went swimming, showering & used the jacuzzi. At times it was difficult getting them off. Good luck. Judy ## The other posters are correct, sometimes something else is required to help keep them on, such as another adhesive product, or wat... ...

Sandoz fentanyl patchSCTQY
Does anyone know if/when sandoz fentanyl patches will become available again? ## No, I'm sorry, I don't have any information on any current problems. Have you tried asking your pharmacy? They'd have access to the most current information on any availability problems, since they are alerted immediately by the FDA and the information we have is generally delayed, since this site does not manufacture, nor dispense any medications. This is a very potent narcotic analgesic and it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. ## I think it is gone I was on it and it worked great the only one left is Watson brand it works almost as good as the sandose and it has the gel in it the other ones do not work try them I think you will like them good luck ...

FENTANYL 12
Ive recently being prescribed fentanyl patches to try out by my GP, the idea is to replace the ammount of tablets that i take each day. I'm worried as to when to start them as I am working solid over the next 7 days then i get two days off ? also I attend a pilates class to help with my spondalitis. As there is a spa there i take a turn in the jacuzzi which seems to help. Can i take off the patch for an hour ok ?? ## Hi Jimbob, I haven't been able to find an exact answer to your question, but I did want to help by refering you to other threads on here with individuals who are also using the fentanyl patch: This thread may not be quite as active, but people there offer some interesting information on fentanyl: /Discuss/FENTANYL-PATCH-178334.htm This thread is still very active &am... ...

Methadone With Fentanyl Patch
been with same pm dr. for 4 years has recently retired and now have no dr or meds combination of fentanyl patch 75mcgs and 4 10 mg methadone tablets a day worked wonders for me 0 pain level now I have to start all over really scared of withdrawalsWL ## Withdrawal does have the potential of being very dangerous, thus I'd advise you to seek emergency medical assistance if it happens and you find yourself showing any severe withdrawal symptoms. Did your doctor not refer you to another doctor for assistance? Are there any other pain management clinics in your area? What is your general location? If you can post back with that information, someone may be able to suggest a good doctor in your area. ...

Medicaid/Fentanyl Patch 100mcg
How is it all of the sudden I am told 4 days before my due date for 15 Fentanyl patches (100 mcg 1 patch every 2 days) will not be filled because Medicaid doesn't wan't to pay for it? I heard this started in 2012 yet they have been paying for it! It's February 2013 so why the all the sudden very very short notice? This is in Indiana.I also get Flexiril.Thank you in advance. ## I am sorry that you are having such a problem, but I don't have an answer for you. This website specializes in information on medications, their uses and side effects, but nothing to do with coverage of insurance and etc. Do you have a case worker or someone that you can call to ask about it? They'd be the best person to consult in such a matter as I am sure they are much more informed of any c... ...

Trying to kick the Fentanyl patch
This is my 1st post ever, anywhere. I am trying to get off Fentanyl. 7 years ago I was Rx'ed 25 mcg patches every 72 hrs. Went to every 48 hrs within a month. Went to a 50 every 48 to a 75 every 48 to the 100 mcg every 48 hrs.. Been on 100 mcg's (48 hrs) for several years now and I'm sick and tired of taking the patch. I have DDD, two failed rotator cuff surgeries as well as an elbow surgery (pain). The shoulder and back pain is the worst. I'm 52 years old, worked a steady job with Ma Bell as a lineman 25 years and wore my body out. Three weeks ago I started cutting my Mylan brand 100 mcgh patches in half. So far so good. I did notice that I started taking more of the Dilauid I'm rx'ed for breakthrough pain. My plan is to keep cutting the patches in half till I... ...

fentanyl patch, temp sensitive etc
Hello, I am on fentanyl patch 50mcg. I think i got longer times on same medicine with pill medicine. This is longer times i have been on the medicine before needing an adjustment to a higher medicine. can you get tolerant faster on a patch verses a pill pain medicine? If a person naturually can heat up does the patch dump more medicine in the body and thus run out earlier then total three days? I also notice if you have lost muscle tone it seems the patch doesn't stick as well. IF the muscle is more away from the body could affect how medicine is delivered in body? I notice i can't water walk at all for if water gets to the patch i need another one before my time is up or more times when doesn't seem to work as well if water gets on it. I never take another patch but this is... ...
