How Long Does 1 8 Mg Subutex Last

Hello I have been on opiates for about 2 years now and I was given a half of a quarter of a subutex and this is my first time taking it. I was wanting to know when it wears off? I think it threw me into full detox because I took 20 mg of hydrocodone 7 hours before I took the sub. I am aware I have a problem I just want to know when the sub will wear off. Took it at 1:30 pm, it's now 9:30pm. ## It usually takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will be effective for you, again. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. I have been on 3 to 4 norcos per day for about 1.5-2 years. 10/325 mg. I don't take them at work EVER. So at night to relax and on weekends/holidays. I recently ran out and my doc suggested I take subutex if I start feeling crappy until I get more. I wasn't feeling too bad but wanted to try it anyway. He told me to put a whole pill under my tongue. But being cautious, I only put 1/2 pill under my tongue (so 4 mg?). Holy cow. I was SO high, then I have been sleepy for hours. Took a nap and woke up still high. Made dinner and am hoping eating makes it go away. It's not, really. I took the pill at 2pm today. I just switched from Suboxone 8mg(bup) 2(mg)Nal, to Subutex 8mg no Naloxone and they are the Activis brand. The SUBOXONE with naloxone WOULD LAST me 24hours. I've been on the Subutex now 2 days and I put the 8mg TABLET UNDER my tongue at 10am & by 6pm I start getting goosebumps I'm cold I feel jittery and just ugh I can't focus and I get off work 7 7:30 and I have had to take another 6-8 mg when I get home to make it comfortably through the night. I have been on 16 mg of subutex for ten years, last Tuesday I had surgery and decided that I was going to try to come off the subutex, use the pain mess I was prescribed for the surgery and then be done with it all. I was prescribed perk 5 mg every four hours, and at the time of the surgery I had been off the subutex for 24 hours (I know that's not long enough) To my surprise taking the perk as prescribed held me over at least in the beginning. By Monday night I was in terrible withdraws (despite still taking the pain medication as I have been). By about 4am I took half of a 8mg sub (which was around 10 hours after the last perc I've taken) The 4 mg not only took me out of WD but it down right got me high. I was quite upset with my lapse but was determined to not let it be my down

I ran out of subutex and took Methadone for a week. Approximately 80 mg a day, and the last few days 40 mgs. I have Subutex but I'm afraid to take it bc of the precipitated withdrawal. Im on morphine 20ml daily and fentonyl patches 100mg every 3 days I ran out of my pain relief last week n used subutex today. So last weds. My drs nurse called and asked me to come in and do a pill count I called back and let them know that I am not in town, well the nurse said she is canceling all my appointments and I am being discharged from the program! I was very upset about this so I kept calling and calling with no results well then Friday my dr herself called and told me that on Monday I can come in for my appointment as scheduled but if my levels are off I will be kicked out of program immediately. I've been taking about 3mg subtext for three months and was going to switch to methadone. Took 20mg today. I've decided it just isn't for me. I want to go back to the subutex. How long do I need to wait to safety take the subutex. ## If you took the methadone while the subutex was still in you system, the subutex would have eliminated the methadone. I ran out of subutex last night - can I take suboxone today? ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. I have been on methadone treatment for about 2 years. I originally started going to a clinic and took the liquid. I was at about 200 mg per dose. I couldn't keep going to the clinic, and keep a steady job. I ended up finding a pain management doctor that prescribed me the pill form. We worked out a plan to taper down because methadone is just not good if you want to have energy, an increased libido, sweat, and all the lovely other symptoms. I ended up tapering down to about 60 mg per day then my doctor decided that he wanted me to switch from methadone to subutex. So, we made a plan to get down another 30 mg. My doctor just put me on subutex along with percocet. I've been on percocet for yrs for severe and chronic migraines. He told me to take the subutex and if it doesn't work to take a percocet. Hi. I recently stopped taking 180 mgs. of OxyContin twice a day. I had been on that dose for eleven years. I'm now taking 8mgs of Subutex 3x a day. I'm getting some pain relief but I'm still at a 7 for my average pain scale. When I was on the OxyContin I was at an average 10 pain for the last 21/2 years. That is why I went off it. My husband was on 32 mg of methadone and has waited 96 hours to start his Subutex. During these 96 hours he has taken a total of ten 30 mg Oxycodone's. He took 4 mg of subutex this morning and was withdrawing about an hour after this dose. he took about three more milligrams of Subutex and he is sweating & saying he doesn't feel right. I've been taking a high dose of Methadone for the last 5 years around 100 mg. My last dose was Sunday of Methadone, and I went to the hospital last night and they gave me 8 mg of Morphine.
