My age is 48 and my blood pressure remains at 150 past one year I am on telmisartan and amlodipine combined with bisoprolol 5mg. Suggest how to lower my blood pressure ## Hello, Krishna! How are you? What types of foods do you eat? If they are heavily salted and very fatty, that will play a role in causing your blood pressure to be high. It can also be affected by someone's being overweight and being sedentary. So, if you're carrying a few extra pounds, you should work on losing them, preferable via proper diet and exercise, since those both also play a role in lowering it. And have you talked to your doctor? These just might not be the right medications for you to take, you may need to try something else. ## Since last one year my bp is 150/75. Kidly suggest the remedy

I am presently using prexim 4mg for blood pressure, and experiencing a slight throat irritation causing me to cough now and again. is this a normal side effect/ and if so why / and what is causing this to happen/ ## Hello, Greg! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of many blood pressure/cardiac medications. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, hypotension and increased urination. However, the cough doesn't usually go away as most other side effects usually do, so you should speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I JUST BEGAN THE NEW PRESCRIPTION DRUG FOR FIBROMYALGIA THIS WEEK CALLED SAVELLA IN PILL FORM. MY BLOOD PRESSURE HAS RISEN FROM AN AVERAGE OF 122/70 TO 155/85. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM? WILL IT REGULATE BACK DOWN AFTER BODY ADJUSTS. OTHERWISE SURE FEEL A WHOLE LOT BETTER THEN WHEN ON CYMBALTA FOR SAME DISEASE. COULD IT BE A WITHDRAWAL EFFECT FROM THE CYMBALTA? I WENT OFF THAT 24 HOURS BEFORE STARTING SAVELLA. HEADACHES, JITTERY, HYPER WERE NOTICED IMMEDIATELY, THAT IS GETTING BETTER EACH DAY. ## Your experience parralels mine. I transitioned from cymbalta to titration pack of savella in one day. Very rough withdrawal. Worked my way up to full dose of Savella in October. BP was rising at half dose, Dr. thought at full dose pain would be lessened and BP would fall. I have always h...

I started taking kin tablets for the past one month but am seeing no significant reduction in the level of blood pressure measurement. I.E. it was 160/105 when started taking kin tabs. It came down to 139/91 two weeks ago. Today it measured 160/105, 154/102, and 155/101. ## What dosage are you taking and how often do you take them? And when are you checking it? Is it immediately after activity? After you're eating? And how close together in time are you checking it? As reported by the NIH, all of these factors can affect your readings, at any given time. Do you also eat a healthy, low salt and low fat diet? Do you make sure to get plenty of exercise? Are you on any other medications?

is carca-25 safe to take for high blood pressure ## Hi, Charlotte! How are you? Carvedilol is no more or less safe than any other medication and it is actually known to cause less side effects than many others. Learn more Carvedilol details here. Really, it is much safer to take the medication your doctor wants you to try, than it is to just let your blood pressure continue to soar out of control, since that creates the risk of heart attack, stroke and congestive heart failure. Has your doctor prescribed it?

Two doctors have told me to take atacand 8mg, lisinopril 5mg, and metroprol succ. 25mg for my slightly high blood pressure. Do they do the same thing is this overkill? sjr ## I honestly believe that taking those 3 different medications for 1 condition is a 'prescription overkill' as I like to call it. There are many natural alternatives for Blood Pressure control that in my opinion can be just as effective as prescription medication, with little to no side effects. I personally had high blood pressure, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to look into natural ways such as: Low sodium foods to help reduce inflammation; supplementation of garlic, fish oils, as well as calciu...

My regular MD.Mic doctor has prescribed Amlodipino 5mg. However a cardiologist has told me stop taking this drug, and had prescribed a drug called Micardis. I thought chloresterol was no longer considered a problem? Cardiologist also prescribed Atvastatin? Baby aspirin too, I read that Aspirin is no longer approved by the American Medical Association. Who knows what to believe. As someone who has never taken drugs and I'm 80 yrs.old,I don't know what to believe! ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Trying to find out the safety of this medicine. ## My aunt had high bp. One evening she took two pills with out any food from morning. And she died 6 hours later. Is it possible? This was told by her relatives. Her age was 36 and her bp readings are 145/95. ## Only her doctor can answer that question. Her numbers aren't crazy high, but they do increase the risk of heart attack, or stroke, which can be fatal. Do you know what medication she was taking? Why didn't she take them with food? Did she take both pills at once, or separately? Altace contains the active ingredient Ramipril. I have been taking Zartan 50 for a few months for high blood pressure. I have also been taking half a Serrapress 20 in the morning for anxiety. I then had a spate of very high blood pressure at 170/115. My dr prescribed half an Urbanol in the morning and half at night. My blood pressure is now as low as 125/66. I stopped the Urbanol two days ago but my blood pressure is still low. Should I still be taking Zartan?

Earlier today my bp was 139/113, a few hours later I checked again and it was 155/86. I have numerous health issues. I'm hoping blood pressure isn't being added to the list? ## When did you check it? Was it after eating? And if so, what did you eat? Was it after activity? If so, what kind of activity? What time of day did you check it? There are so many things that could cause such blood pressure fluctuations, according to NIH reports, so it is very hard to say from this limited information.

I was prescribed this for anxiety and it is working very well for me. I have been through several drugs and for the first time I felt hopeful. I went to denist and found out this medication is sending my blood pressure through the roof. No issues with blood pressure prior to this. This was the only change. I'm really scared to get off it. Is there anything that I can do? ## Are you sure it's due to this medication? Elevated blood pressure is not a listed side effect among FDA or user reports.
