Heraclene Vitamin

My 6 year old was advised by the doctor to take the heraclene 1 mg capsule twice a day. Is this good for my son? Are there any side effects that he needs to be aware of taking it twice a day? ## What are the dosage of heraclene capsule for ages 5yrs old ## my child is 3 1/2 yo should i give her heraclene 1 g twice a day? thanks ## If the child's doctor has said they should take it, then they should certainly do so, it is a supplement that it used to increase appetite, it is an active form of vitamin B12. The NIH does warn that it sometimes cause nausea, due to its potency. it for my son ## Heraclene contains the active ingredient Dibencozide. It is used to increase appetite. This medication is from the Philippines. I am not, however, finding any information on possible side effects. Has your son had problems with his appetite? ## I believe Heraclene stimulates the absorption of vitamin B12 needed to gain appetite and therefore weight. i am taking it. there is no side effect.

This is a form of Vitamin B12 and yes, even though it is a vitamin, taking too much of it can have serious consequences. These could manifest as: diarrhea, hives, skin rash, trouble breathing and heart palpitations. In many cases, they will disappear as the medication is processed out of the body and there are no serious, long-term effects. However, if you see any signs of these lasting for a prolonged period of time or any unusual behavior, then they need medical attention. Are there any questions or comments?

Children generally go through phases, where they have less appetite, for awhile and then their appetites will suddenly increase, for a period of time, just before a growth spurt. This is completely normal and you really shouldn't worry about it, unless he is severely underweight for his age and size.
