Can someone please tell me where and how to get this cream in the US? I can't get to Mexico. ## Your local swap meet or any Mexican stores (not like north gate or anything like that ) ## @Shari, From what I've read, two of Gelmicin's ingredients (Betamethasone + Gentamicin) appear to be available by prescription-only here in the US. Clotrimazole is also reportedly available OTC or via prescription depending on the dosage. Having said that, I think your best bet may be to make an appointment with a doctor and have he/she write you a script. You could then take that Rx to a (compounding) pharmacy to see if they'll be able to formulate something similar to Gelmicin per your doctor's request. I know this sounds like a hassle but it's still probably more feasible than...

Will Gelmicin help to eliminate toenail fungus? I bought it in Mexico and want to try it on my toe nails to kill the fungus. Any ideas? ## It's worth a try, I used it a couple of times but wasn't consisting on it, I used to use fungi pen and and would make my nails "look clear" I used it for 5 months every day but in the end it didn't work. So $10 a tube for gelmicin its worth giving it a shot, just maybe use up one tube apply twice a day since it rubs off if you wear socks and see if there's any results, I'll be doing that. ## Have you guys ever looked into trying Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca) as a natural remedy for nail fungus? Can gelmicin be used to control rosacea? ## What has your doctor advised? Gelmicin is listed as containing the active ingredient Lotrisone, which is a combination of Clotrimazole and Betamethasone, both of which should only be used under a doctor's supervision, due to their risks of side effects.

My husband used Gelmicin cream that we picked up from Mexico on a diabetic ulser he had on his toe for over a year that was cracking and taking a long time to heal but not infected. He used the Gelmicin cream on it and after 3 days it is healing fantastic, almost gone actually. I am looking for this cream in Alberta and so far no luck!!! I guess it will be a great reason to return to Mexico!! Just thought I would share with anyone who suffers from diabetes issues. ## I did a quick search and found Gelmicin is a cream made up of 3 different ingredients. Clotrimazole 1%, an antifungal; Betamethasone Dipropionate 0.05%, a topical steroid to reduce inflammation; and Gentamicin Sulfate 0.1%, an anitbiotic for bacterial infection. I have been using gelmicin for a couple years now for my acne. It helps get rid of pimples more quickly. However, I do not recommend using it. I started getting addicted to it and used it for all my pimples. It caused excessive hair growth on my face. I recommend using only in moderation. It also causes redness to skin.

Can it be used on dogs hot spots? ## Will it hurt a dog if ingested ## Hi Denise, Personally I think it would be a good idea to contact a veterinarian before treating any animal with any medication - Regardless of whether it's a cream or pill for ingestion. The way their system reacts/responds to many types of drugs can be vastly different from what we perceive as normal, so it's better to be overly safe than take even a slight risk with our pets. Something else worth noting is that if the cream isn't used properly, one of its active ingredients (Betamethasone - a steroid) may make some skin conditions worse off. I wish only the best for you and your pet! ## Our vet usually prescribes Otomax for any hot spots/infections, which has the same ingredients as Gelmicin. So it SHOU...

Can gelmicin cream be used to heal a wart crater scab ## Hello, Wana! How are you? Nothing is really going to heal it any faster, a scab will just have to finish up its natural process and fall away on its own. Or did you mean that it's scar tissue from a healed wart removal? If so, that will likely always remain.

Gentamicin, an antibiotic for treating and/or preventing bacterial infections. Are you able to translate the instructions on the packaging? My 4 year old daughter has ringworm on her head, and i wanted to know if its safe to use on her scalp? I have the medicine gelmicin just got it from mexico, i just want ti know if its safe. ## Hello, Mell! How is your daughter doing? At her age, it is always best to consult her pediatrician, rather than trying to self-treat. Many medications can be more potent in children, to the point where they could actually be dangerous. Her doctor can provide a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate thing to treat it safely. Has she had ringworm, before? There is a steroid in Gelmicin, as well as an antibiotic and antifungal, so it could cause her some serious side effects, such as those listed by the FDA like weight gain, acne and skin rash.

I have cellulitis in the folded overlap on my stomach. It was diagnosed. Can I use gelmicin on it when it starts itching or gets red? ## Hello, Reed! How are you? Before I had left to Mexico I was using Gelmicin for a month because I started to get a lot of Whitehead’s and textured skin mainly on my forehead and it helped my skin clear up fast! But when I left to Mexico while being over there my skin slowly went back to how it was and ever since I came back I’ve gotten more bumps on my face, so I switched up my routine and stopped Gelmicin. But i don’t know if I should try using it again? What should I do? ## Hi Yamilet, Gelmicin is indicated to be a topical antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antifungal combination product. From what I've researched, Gelmicin isn't generally regarded as being used for acne, but depending on whether there's an infection present would likely be the deciding factor in so far as determini...

I've been breaking out lately and have had many big nasty red pimples, so I was wondering if I used this would it clear it up??? ## Hello, Girly! How are you? You shouldn't use a prescription product, if it wasn't prescribed for you and, since this one is not formulated to treat acne, it could actually contain something that might make it worse. Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications? Hello I have a question regarding Gelmicin I have a sinus infection with white spots inside my nose Can I use gelmicin? Please advise me via email Thanks so much ## Hello, Carlos! How are you? There is a chance that the white spots could be a yeast infection, so the Gelmicin may help, but there is also a chance that it could make some conditions worse. Thus, it would be best to consult your doctor, so they can give you a definitive diagnosis of what it is and how to properly treat it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Gelmicin as possibly including skin redness, irritation, dryness, and acne. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have redness, flaking, irritation around my cheeks, eyebrows, and by my ears. ## Will this work on red spots on my cheeks?
