My 4 year old daughter has ringworm on her head, and i wanted to know if its safe to use on her scalp? At her age, it is always best to consult her pediatrician, rather than trying to self-treat. Many medications can be more potent in children, to the point where they could actually be dangerous. Her doctor can provide a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate thing to treat it safely. Has she had ringworm, before? There is a steroid in Gelmicin, as well as an antibiotic and antifungal, so it could cause her some serious side effects, such as those listed by the FDA like weight gain, acne and skin rash.
