Hello, Three years ago I suffered from Bell's Palsy on the left side of my face. Actually at that time I also suffered from an emotional setback. I recovered from the Bell's Palsy but since then I have felt pain on the left side of my face. After that the pain has spread to my whole body. hi ive just been put on pregabalina for nerve damage to my right leg i was put on gablapenting is it just the same ## NO! Pregabalin and Gabapentin are two different drugs.! Pregabalin is a generic for Lyrica and Gabapentin is the generic for Neurontin, though they are both used to treat nerve pain.

My wife got paralysis stroke on the left side of her face in May 2011 due to high BP. It was cured after hospital treatment. After one year she got post paralysis symptoms like her left eye was burning and felt painful, water discharge from nose, backside of her head felt like it was burning, right hand burning. Is it ok to take 750mgs of GABA & 7.5mgs of Meloxicam together at nite after a meal? I was diagnosed with neuropathy in my feet as well as osteoarthritis. ## I'm sorry, but I have to ask, if you mean the supplement GABA, or the medication Gabapentin? Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat some mood disorders, and certain types of nerve pain. It's side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood swings. Can you please post back and clarify? Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.

i am 47 and have been on this drug twice a day for around 3yrs and since taking i have had muscles spasms, twitching,constipation,feeling high,but the drugs works well so am not sure whether to continue and put up with these side effects which can be quite annoying or check with doctor about changing the drug ? what do you think ## Is the only one in this drug class that you've tried? I have been taking 300 to 900 mg's of Gabapentin for at least 15 yrs. for restless legs..doesn't seem to be enough now but am hesitant in taking more. Would it help if I took Cal Mag supplements as well at night? I also take a good magnesium supplement at night too. Also because of a recent trauma I'm on one mg of Clonazepam as well which doesn't much help. It puts me out for a couple of hours and then I'm awake. Between the restless legs and the lack of sleep my nights are a bloody nightmare and I'm totally fatigued the next day. Any help out there. I am 71 years young. I have diabetes 2, schizoaffective disorder, osteoarthritis and cervical spinal stenosis as major illnesses. For all this I take 1000 mg of metformin twice daily, risperidone 1 mg, bubropion hcl XL 300 mg, lorazepam 0.5mg 3 to 4 times daily, 750 mg of nabumetone once to twice daily, 100 mg of tramadol 3 times daily, and 900 mg of gabapentin 3 times daily. I have pinched nerves in my neck and have had many procedures including a rhyzotomy for the pinched nerves and neck problems. I still get around fine, drive a car, and have job. I am having pain in my neck and right arm radiating up to my middle finger. Doctor has advised me Neugaba 75 mg. I tapered up to 1800 mg on a sample pack and my Dr. didn't listen & called in Gabapentin. I tried that off & on for a few years post chemo. (Peripheral Neuropathy). I then went cold turkey to about 2-3 '300' mg pills for a couple of days, felt that swirly headed silly almost tipsy feeling & decided to just stop the drug. It has never helped my PN. And an online msg. board has many posts about Gralise being a big joke. Maybe it is??? I'm having some pain relief from Cymbalta, but probably only 75% back pain relief. I am 73 and have been diagnosed with disc prolapse stenosis L1-L5. I had severe sciatica some 30 yrs ago and was treated with Ayrvedic Thailams and it was controlled. Five yrs ago the problem resurfaced in severity and after Ayurvedic treatmemt failed an Epidural inj was give. Combined with regular exercise I have been doing fine since 5 yrs. Have lower back pain and was given 800mg Gabapentin to be taken 1/2 tablet 3 times a day. Only took 1/2 pill at bedtime, off and on for only a few months. My doctor moved and was given a different doctor who said my 200mg Zoloft a day wasn't working anymore so I should take a 800mg Gaba pill at night, he tapered me off the Zoloft by reducing 50mg every two weeks. I have been off Zoloft for a week and started wellbutin 75mg one in the morning and one at night. I have bilateral sciatica. It is caused by Stenosis of the spine, and I am in a lot of pain. I need an operation to remove it, and I have been to many hospitals in the area, but no-one wants to do it. This is because I have Ischaemic heart disease, and my heart stopped when my local hospital tried to operate. I have been on morphgesic 20mg twice a day. I think it is useless when I am have just taken it, but when it wears off I am in intense pain. I do suffer from Slip disc since 1991.As age is increasing so the restrictions in movement .Now my waist often gets locked with excruciating pain even in small stooping frontal or side so that even sitting on commode often causes semi lock in waist .Pain mainly on left side in waist ----rt side leg a bit insensitive .I am 69 Male ,suffer from Diabetes type 2,Stent in cardiac artery,strong dementia .I also take Urimax D,Aspirin 150,Clopidogrel 75,Rosuvastatin 20,SitaGliptin 50x2 ## It would actually be a good idea to look at the side effects of your current medications, because it could be one of them making the situation, such as the Rosuvastatin, according to the U.S. FDA. I am taking 4mgs of Dilaudid, 2mg Xanax, 200mg Gabapentin, 75mg Doxepin and Tylenol daily. Is it safe? ## Generally most pain management doctors will not prescribe Xanax along with Dilaudid or any pain killer. They say it makes your heart slow down and they fear you may go to sleep and not wake up. I'm hoping that you are going to one doctor for all of your meds or have told the doctor(s) that are prescribing the Dilaudid and Xanax that you are taking both meds. Please be careful and don't take any extra of either med. ## Have they all been prescribed for you? Generally, the NIH warns that taking them together may cause more severe side effects than usual. Such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and respiratory depression.
