it is a patch that is called transdermal system and it says 25 mcg/hr and also says each transdermal system contains: 2.55 mg fentanyl Iam a first time user on this meaication what would it do to me????? ## Well, this can have some adverse effects. I am not sure if you have previously used narcotics, I know this should not be used by anyone who has not already built up a narcotic tolerance as it is a very, very strong med. 80 times stronger than Morphine as a matter of fact. My doctor tried taking from Darvocet to the patch 25s and I was so sick, for days, that I couldn't even hold down water, even when she gave me the strongest antinausea that she could. Some people love these, they can work wonders for pain, but they don't agree with some people, so you will basically have to ... ...

I have been weaning myself off Methadone! I was taking 10mgs 3 times a day. I am now down to less than one tablet a day and will continue until I can say goodby Methadone and I never want to see you again. Now to my real problem. Last week my doctor gave me the Fentanyl 25 MCG/HR Patch MYL. I need something to help with the pain I still have although the Lyrica and Cymbalta have really helped. I did not when she gave the Fentanyl Patch to me that I would have to taper off and that it carried baggage of bad side affects. I have read the messages here and have decided not to use the Fentanyl. Thanks to everyone! ## Sorry, I forgot to tell you that I have Fibromyalgia and IT IS REAL!!!!!!!!! ## That is true, the Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, over 80 times stronger than Morphine and i... ...

if you take a 25 mg Fentanyl Patch and it is not that strong of a prescription for you, can you take additonal painkillers like vicodin as needed? Like taking a few vicodin every few hours during the day while on the patch. ## Please DON'T first stop the Fentanyl It's a nightmare!!!! You are on a path you don't want to travel. Find another way, PLEASE for your own sake!!! ## Fentanyl is 80times stronger than Morphine, therefore, I guarantee it is STRONG for you! Mixing it with other narcotics would be extremely dangerous, it is highly addictive and you run the risk of overdose, with possible fatal consequences. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can read more about this medication here: This is one of the MOST PO... ...

Hi I am on 25MCG Patches do you ever get used to the weird feelins in your head or is that the trade off for no pai? ## You mean they actually take you pain away? Do they make you sick to your stomach? If your only problem is a bit of a funny feeling in your hear, then I would say, deal with it. But be careful if you go out driving. If you are pulled over, and act kind of drunk, you will get a DUI. ## All the funny feelings will go away with time. Make sure your Dr. Will continue to treat you and not decide one day you don't need it no more when nothings changed. You'll get sick for a good four days from the withdrawal. No sleep, restless leg syndrome etc. great pain reliever just don't abuse it and it'll work great and in a short time you won't even know you have it... ...

I have been on the Fentanyl 25mcg patches for about a month and a have. My doctor switched me to the 50mcg patches but after two of them I was moved back down to the 25's because they were too strong. My pain is almost gone so I want to get off of the patches but I don't have enough money (no insurance) to keep buying them or to see the PM Doc again. I have 5 25 mug patches left. Is there any possible way to ween myself down to zero with minimal to no withdrawal symptoms after? I am desperate to be done with all of these pain killers! Please help! ## After such a short period of time, the withdrawal effects should be minimal, though you're likely to still experience some, since this is such a potent narcotic. And as to a way to taper, there's really no way to do that eff... ...

How much adderall can be taken while wearing a 25 mcg transdermal fentanyl patch? ## Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Adderall and Fentanyl. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. Having said that - in my opinion, it would be ok to take these two medications together. However, as far as proper dosing goes, I would simply suggest following the dosage guidelines on the Adderall packaging. If in fact you do end up experiencing undesirable side effects, it would probably be in your best interest to stop taking it and try another medication or holistic approach to your condition. I hope this helps! ...

I have been on it for about 2 months. I am stopping cold turkey. What is going to happen to me? Fentantnl 25MG patch. ## Hello, Jenn! How are you? Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, over 80 times stronger than Morphine, so you stopping abruptly will likely cause some severe withdrawal effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, nervousness and insomnia. It would be much safer and easier to do a gradual taper, which may involve other medications. Have you consulted your doctor for assistance? ...

Also can I use tramadol 100 mg for break through pain while wearing the fentanyl patch. Thank you. ## Hello, Rocket666! How are you? There is actually an issue with mixing the Fentanyl and Tramadol, it creates a risk of your experiencing seizures. So, if you need a medication for break through pain, please consult your doctor for something safe. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can I just stop taking fentanyl patch 25? ## No you risk suffering from opiate withdrawal if you have been on the medication for any length of time say for more than a few months. Opiate withdrawal is extremely painful and very unnecessary especially if you have a legitimate prescription for it. ## That is correct, while it may seem small, since the dosage is only 25mcgs, Fentanyl is actually a very potent narcotic. It is actually over 80 times stronger than Morphine. Therefore, if you have been taking it for awhile and want to stop using it, you should seek medical assistance for the best way to taper off, while minimizing the withdrawal and rebound effects. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Of of 25 is minuscule I'm on 150!,... ## Ahhh...ok,here's my situation...I ... ...

Fentanyl Patch 100mg

hi i have been on these patches for 4 months now but i still have pain ## Have you consulted your doctor? Do you have any medications for breakthrough pain? Usually, for proper pain management, something long acting like the Fentanyl is used and then some that works immediately, or a regular release medication, is also given for those times the pain is too much for the long acting medication to completely control. ## I am on 25mcgs of fentynal patches every 72 hours, plus 10/325 pecocet 1 every 4-6 hours for BT pain. The Percocet doesn't do much, and is very similar to my previous prescription of Norco and the patch isn't strong enough and runs out after 48 hours. Im on morphine 20ml daily and fentonyl patches 100mg every 3 days I ran out of my pain relief last week n used subutex today. I stopped a 180 mg daily oxy habit of 3 years 2/14. Since 2/14 until now my opiate usage would be 5 30 mg oxy's monthly typically - I've used maybe 25 mcg orally 3 times in the past 5 months and 60 mg morphine plugged a couple times. I have also used subutex a few times I no longer experience opiate w/d and a dose of 30 mg oxy leaves me extremely buzzed for a good 12 hrs. I've worn the gel Fentanyl patch for the 96 hours. I went beyond the 72 because I was still getting pain relief. Well this morning I removed it because I was getting ZERO pain relief and I am in severe pain. I can't get my new prescription until Monday and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I should probably cut the used patch in order to chew it and get some pain relief. I am NOT trying to feel high. I don't use my meds for that reason apparently, but I need atleast a little relief from this pain. I also don't want to die either. I only want to know how I can safely chew this used patch to get atleast moderate pain relief. Thanks.... ...

I am using Fentanyl 25mg patch for chronic back pain. Is it ok to use nucynta ER 50mg for breakthrough pain? ## Has your doctor prescribed them both? It is unusual to prescribe 2 time released medications, together.
