I have been on cilift for a month now and have the most unusual, weirdest dreams for the past 3 weeks. Is this caused to the meds? or maybe everything that is suppressed that are now coming out in dreams? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is a SSRI antidepressant that can also be used to treat other conditions. However, since it does affect the brain chemical Seratonin, yes, it can cause the vivid dreams you are experiencing. Other side effects you may experience can include: nausea, drowsiness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions?

I am taking 60mg of nifedipine and I am having unpleasant dreams every night. Is there an alternative which does not have this side effect? ## Hello, Mick! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're experiencing. That is possible with most medications. How long have you been taking it? Most side effects tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, which generally takes about 4 to 5 weeks. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. There are other medications available, so if it's still happening and it's been longer than 5 weeks, it will most likely just be a matter of trial and error to find one that doesn't cause you such an issue. ## I've been taking nifedi...

I was recently diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica (sudden onset). Because severe pain prevented me from sleeping, I was prescribed Vicoprofin 7.5-200. This had a most unusual effect on my dreams: They invariably involved some stressful situation (house-fire car theft etc) which endured for an extended period of time. When I awoke I was relieved to discover that I had been dreaming - drink of water - visit to the john. Here is the strange part; When I went back to sleep, I was back in the trauma of the previous dream! There's more. When I again awoke with relief and went back to sleep again to find myself in the same dream but this time knowing that I was dreaming! I have experienced similar sequences like the above about four tomes in the last month. No other side-effects. Anyone...

Mind is over-active during day/night during sleep. In night there are at least 3/4 interuptions. I am 68 years old.My mind does not rest. For the last 35 years or so I am getting dreams continuosly during sleep. Ihave tried all systems of medicines but with no results. What should I do? ## Please MEDITATE whenever you get time. Recite OM or name of any god before you sleep. You may get in touch with me. I will pray for you.Thanks. ## Have you tried keeping a food diary? Many times extreme dreaming is associated with how hard your body is working, while you are trying to sleep. For several weeks, you should keep a diary of everything you eat and drink within 4 to 5 hours of going to bed, including any medications you take. This could help you and your doctor discover a pattern of what mi...

can campral cause sweet dreams effect ## Hi Jane, Based on my research, Campral (acamprosate calcium) does actually list "abnormal dreams" and "hallucinations" as possible psychiatric side effects. Although I personally see no reason to be concerned if the dreams/visions are "sweet" and positive as you described them to be? But if you feel that this ever becomes bothersome or severe I would still encourage you to contact your doctor to let him/her know what's going on. Just out of curiosity, would you be able to describe the types of dreams you're having in any detail? I hope this helps! ## One of my dreams was of eating barbeque with Oprah Winfrey & having a really good time! Another dream was of reuniting a lost dog with its owner. The dreams are ve...

I have been having extremely vivid dreams on Contrave. Some cause me to wake up mid dream. Also noticed that I had to sleep about 20 hours on Sunday after drinking Saturday night. Anyone else seeing these side effects and should I be concerned? ## Those can be normal side effects, alcohol tends to intensify them, according to NIH reports, which is why you are usually told not to imbibe, while taking any prescription medications. It could also cause you to experience more nausea, dizziness, and diarrhea than normal. How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? ## I seem to be adjusting. Still having vivid dreams, but not so scary that they wake me up. I've been limiting alcohol intake and I have a lot more energy. I actually feel great. No weight loss yet. Starting a new more...

Has anyone had any realistic, but odd dreams upon just drifting off to sleep? I just started the 290mcg. Took it 2 days in the AM...nothing, just more bloating but it did help some with the pain. However after reading up some, and considering my work schedule, I thought I should switch to a bedtime dose. WELL...Its working now! But thats ok! I think most of us agree after suffering with being back up for years, hey, whats a lil diarrhea. Problem is, I awoke...well tried to..from a most horrific dream, right upon drifting off. Im usually not a vivid dreamer. Anyone else have this AT ALL? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Yes, others have reported having this happen, while taking Linzess and it's actually fairly common with most medications, since they often have a direct effect on brain c...

Hi all, I have been taking Rivaroxaban (UK name for Xarelto) since November 2015 and I have a number of issues, most of which have been mentioned on here already, like joint pain and fatigue but on thing I don't see anyone else mention is having seriously vivid dreams, to the point where I wake up in a sweat and breathing rapidly with a fast heart rate too. Some dreams are quite violent or a bit gory, like I was being chased by Russians (FFS)! A few nights ago I dreamt I was picking hard skin off my feet, but the whole of the sole of my foot came away leaving raw red flesh! I cannot be alone, surely??? ## This medication has been known to cause sleep disorders and almost any medication risks causing vivid dreaming, so it's not really unusual. Other side effects, as listed by the...

I just started Luvox following recommendation from Psychiatrist- following 2 yr Rx of Zoloft less effective re: anxiety and obsessive behavior/ persistent intrusive thoughts. As of 1st week sleep has been restless vivid dreaming. Dr. stated I may be tired throughout daytime hours, and I have been spacey. Med prescribed for bedtime. Hoping for results and shared thoughts ## Luvox contains the active ingredient Fluvoxamine, which is also an SSRI antidepressant. The side effects you've described are common for this type of medication and should start to wear off, as your body adjusts to the medication. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same types of dreams as I. First of I have to inform you all that recently I was trying to ween myself off my percocet because my bulging disk was supposedly back in place(which its not) so I began taking fewer percocet. This caused nausea so my DR. prescribed me Prochlorperazine 10mg. This is when things start to get really weird. I began feeling really restless and anxious before bed and when I finally fell asleep all hell would break loose....literally. I would dream that I was awakened suddenly in the night by an intruder. The intruder would just look at me and give me a real evil grin and then procede to brutally beat and mutilate my wife. In these dreams(yes dreams plural, same dream every night) I would not be able to move, speak or...

I have been taking Tizanidine 12mg at night and 4 mg in the morning for over 3 months and have been experiencing some alarming abnormal dreams that caused Hallicinations. It seems the Hallicinations occur when I am already tired and then take my normal medication dose at night. Until last night the Hallicinations never caused me to jump out of bed in extreme fright. I typically remember when I have the hallucinations and they always frighten me. The Hallicinations are always thinking someone is in my room and I always demand "who are you?". Last night when the same thing occurred I actually jumped physically out of bed and tried to escape my room past the hallucinated "person" and remember having difficulty getting out the door of my room. I made it out and it seemed at ...

I have very vivid and busy dreams almost like movies, every night. If I get up in the night, I will have a double-header. I don't watch much TV, but the dreams will be bits and pieces of what has happened or what I have seen recently and mixed all together. ## I started taking Dexilant (was called Kapidex). Not until then did I have such vivid dreams. So weird..like whole movies. LOL And, I, too, will have 2-3 dreams like that per night. I am thinking about getting a tablet for my nightstand and jotting a book down! ;D ## I, too, am having the CRAZIEST dreams while taking Dexilant 60 mg 1x a day in the morning. I've been taking it a while, it works great! Last 2 months, I've had dreams that defy explanation! ## I started taking Kapidex and started having very vivid dreams an...

I was a scatter-brained mom of two young children, couldn't concentrate, organize, plan, or function at all beyond bare minimal survival. Within a day of starting Vyvanse under my doctor's supervision, I became a whole new person. I was functional again! I could finally sit down and play a board game with my daughter. I was happy, energetic, organized, I could accomplish several major tasks each day rather than only one a day or none at all which had been the case before. I rekindled my love for exercising. Over the course of two years since I began taking Vyvanse, I've transformed from a braindead, overweight stay-at-home mom to a healthy, happy 3.5 GPA college student and a thin, muscular yoga instructor. But the second year has been rougher because the medication's ef...

I am a 68 year old female with arthritic aches and pains. I saw an ad on TV about Australian Dream Cream and decided I would try it. I thought it was a harmless rub, as most of the others, but I was drawn to the money back guarantee. Well, after using it just for one night before bed I experienced a severe drop in my blood pressure. I awakened lightheaded and took my BP as I do each AM when I awaken. Well when it registered as 74/50/67 I became alarmed. I looked up this drug and was enlightened as low BP is a side effect. I will not use this again and I plan on returning it for a refund. Don't dismiss any symptoms you get from the use of this drug, even though it is administered topically, especially if you are a senior citizen. ## Hi, Tam Ben! I am dreaming out. I have been on buprenorphine/naloxone for a few years. A brief interlude with the "Roxanne" brand (doctor said it was b/c of the surgery I had last year). Found myself in the east coast due to a family emergency and my script ran out. The doctor here prescribed buprenorphine and was fully aware I needed suboxone. Went to fill it at CVS and instead of the orange tablets which I quite like and works very well I was given as mentioned and the pill is white with an M and underneath that it has (I think) 924. Is this suboxone? Unlike everyone on here I liked the Orange tablets which they still give in California. The films did not work as well for me. I hope I am freaking out for nothing. The 2 seemed to be spelled the same exact for the buprenorphine has an e on t...

DOES TALWIN GIVE YOU BAD DREAMS ## According to various medical references, hallucinations and unusual thoughts are listed as side effects of Talwin Nx (Pentazocine and Naloxone); and although there is nothing listed in the way of nightmares, I would think that the bad dreams may still be related to how this drug is effecting your body. Whenever I took Vicodin in the past, it's always given me bad dreams that were very realistic to say the least. So I know first hand that many drugs could potentially cause this as a side effect. Is it bad enough to make you want to switch medications?

Terrible stuff, disturbing dreams, anger bursts, crying bouts, blood vessels in eye burst first day or so. I am 74, female. This is awful- Unpredictible anxiety, feelings of doom, insomnia.
