Does anyone know how to tell if a Dilaudid is fake, specifically the 8mg ones that is triangular shaped with rounder corners, white, and 8 on one side and the to of the letter p on the other side, but the p are both going different directions. So one normal letter p and the other is upside letter p. The letter p's are separated by a straight line between them. I am trying to figure out how I can tell if I have a fake one or not. I do notice they are very shiny, but not sure if they normally look like that. ## Hello, Harley! How are you? Is this an extended release tablet or an immediate release tablet ## This tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories and they list it as containing 8mgs of Dilaudid in a regular release formulation, which means it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start working, after taking it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Tell everyone who is using anything that they cannot prove came from a pharmacy. A dear friend of mine got very sick and almost died when he received an 8mg dilaudid looking tablet. It was fake. If you compare it to the real thing there are very subtle differences. The white tablet w/ LCI 1355 has slightly different letters and number 1 than the real one.The letters should look just like they do here. Not Roman style or more fancy lettering. Be careful people. Try to stop taking pain killers if you can.To many scammers are out there. It is your life people. ## Well said Bibi! In my opinion, if the medication isn't from a licensed pharmacy then the only way to safely verify it's contents is through a lab analysis. And even then, this may not pick up on the presence of certain ina...

I, too, have been having a serious problem finding a pharmacy that will (or can) fill my perscription for 120 dilaudid (hydromorphone) 8mg tablets. I am in the end stages of cervical cancer that has spread too far for treatment. The doctors all say "we will keep you comfortable." My perscription was written 18 days ago and after calling a few pharmacies and realizing that would not get me any answers, I had to have someone physically take me to 24 pharmacies only to be told they don't have them at all or that the ones they get go to their regular customers and that the suppliers are only sending them a very limited quantity each month and they can't even order enough to fill my perscription at all. I have been able to fill a one week supply of the 4 mg twice but now that...

Why won't the Rx. Do what the Dr. Says. He fills we need that medication , what gives the Rx. To power to so no, we are not filling that prescription ## What reason did the pharmacist give for not filling it? It could be that they don't carry the medication, they are worried about how much was prescribed, the doctor may be flagged in their system, the patient it was written for might be flagged in their system…. it's hard to say, but it is up to the discretion of the pharmacist. The patient's option, of course, is to go try a different pharmacy. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

what is the limit a dr can prescribe 8 mg hydromorphone to a patient ## Hello, Tim! How are you? Unless a patient has a condition that is possibly terminal, such as stage 4 cancer, then the DEA recommends they restrict it to the equivalent of no more than 120mgs of Morphine a day, which would 30mgs of Hydromorphone. If a doctor were going by that, they'd most likely stick with prescribing 3 a day, of the regular release, to be taken every 8 hours, so a supply of 90 tablets for a month. However, some states, such as New York, have further limited that recommendation to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine a day, which would be 25mgs of Hydromorphone, in this case, that would still be 3 tablets daily. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has t...

Why does Rhodes make different generic 8mg Dilaudid. I have had it round and now I have it with two P's on one side and an eight on the other side. And it's in a peculiar shape. I know they were bought out by Purdue. But why do you need different generic pills for the same exact strength??? ## Hello, Amber! How are you? Sometimes the company listed on your pharmacy bottle aren't the actual manufacturers, they are just licensed distributors. Thus, it is always best to go by the imprints, rather than the pharmacy label.
