Cymgen Withdrawal

I live in South Africa and started using Cymgen about 3 years ago. I was on 30mg once a day. After deciding that the medication didn't help me, I decided to quit cold turkey. The only withdrawal symptoms I experienced was the dizziness and vertigo. But it was really bad. I started taking it again after a week. I decided to research this and found that antioxidants is supposed to reduce the withdrawal. So I started taking PROCYDIN* (don't know if this is available worldwide) with the Cymgen for about 2 weeks. Then when my Cymgen was finished I continued to take the Procydin only. I must say that I am not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms at this stage. I also don't get depressed (never had suicidal thoughts - even before) Procydin contains: Grape seed extract Proanthocyani...

How long did the withdrawal symptyoms last. ## Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SNRI antidepressant. How long the withdrawal symptoms last will really vary from person to person and a lot depends on how much they were taking and how long they were taking it. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to several months before things balance back out and you feel completely normal again. Learn more Cymgen details here. The worst withdrawal and rebound effects can usually be avoided by tapering it slowly, rather than abruptly discontinuing it. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Took cymgen 60mg for over a year, and went to another doc cause I had manic episodes randomly. I went cold turkey from smoking after 6 years, alcohol and from cymgen. My head is really sore and first few days the pain in the head and vertigo was really bad. Its been a week now and those symptoms have nearly gone. But now I suffer from insomnia and bad dreams. Struggle to fall asleep, then when I do I get woken up by a nightmare. So its not fun. But you just gotta brave it out, the human body is stronger than withdrawal from drugs.

I've been on Cymgen 60mg for a year now and really don't feel that I need it anymore. I started taking a capsule every second day. Since yesterday I have been extremely dizzy. I don't want to prolong the symptoms and have decided that I will go cold turkey. Can anyone give me some peace of mind that the symptoms will clear up sooner if I go cold turkey and not taper of slowly? ## Hello, Antoinette! How are you? No, they will usually not clear up sooner, if you go cold turkey, they usually affect you more severely and take longer to clear up, sometimes as long as 4 to 6 weeks. Typical withdrawal symptoms, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, diarrhea, rebound pain, rebound anxiety and rebound depression. A slow taper is really the best ...

Hi All, thanks for this useful chat. I live in South Africa and have been on cymgen 60mg for about 8 months for anxiety and depression. It has helped a bit, but of late I feel it is working less and less. I work as a researcher at a university, and my job requires a good amount of creative thought and writing. Over the last 8 months, I feel that my creativity and ability to work effectively has been severely hampered. I tried to come off the cymgen 2 weeks ago, without knowing of the negative side effects. My withdrawal was severe, including vertigo, light headedness, flu like symptoms, diarrhoea, very poor levels of concentration and tiredness. I then did some reading, and am back on the drugs and feeling much better after just one day. I will now try a very gradual tapering, of about ...

Hi I was on Cymgen 60mg for one month only. Lost 7 kg's. I am skinny so my body does not have that additional fat to loose. I am falling around like a drunk and are so dizzy. Withdrawal symptoms are so severe that all my lymph nodes are extremely inflamed. In fact, I experienced all the extreme side effects. Did not do the cold Turkey thing, yet in the period that I used it, I was hyperactive, which for a fibromyalgia patient with constant fatigue syndrome, it only led to Burn Out! I am unable to write my final board exams. How long do these withdrawal symptoms last? It seems to be getting worse? Not using anti depressants at present. ## How long has it been since you stopped taking it? How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? It is odd for it to cause such symptoms, aft...

I've been on 60mg of Cymgen for almost three years. It is been used to treat fibromyalgia. I came off it cold turkey 5 weeks ago with my doctor's consent. It was causing dangerously high levels of blood pressure. Two weeks in my blood pressure is back to the normal range. However it has been 5 weeks of hell wth the withdrawal symptoms and I don't see an end I sight. Every time I see a glimmer of hope I come crashing down again. I went to work for a total of three days in January, and for only a few hours at that! I'm at my wits end. I've tried herbal products o help ease the symptoms as well as Motillium and Mittal for the extreme nausea, nothing works. Is there an end in sight?? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Have you consulted your doctor, again? Generally, such sym...

I stopped taking cymgen 60, as I was picking up too much weight and felt tired/lazy during the day,I was extremely forgetful and my concentration was bad most of the time, it made me feel more depressed. The only withdrawal symptoms I do have is feeling tired, nauseaus, insomnia and light headed. It is almost a week since I stopped it, will the symptoms get worse or stay the same? Howlong will it last? ## Hello, Mees! How are you feeling? I really can't say, it depends on your body and how it reacts to stopping the medication. The symptoms may improve, or they may worsen a little yet, before they start to taper off and your body readjusts. Have you consulted your doctor about it?

I have been on Cymbalta, then changed to the generic Cymgen (30mg) for 8 years. I decided after this amount of time to stop and asked my psychiatrist on ways to do this. FISRT of all, my psychiatrist said that because i was on such a low dose that there will be NO side effects of stopping the drug. My response was to inform her that on days i have missed taking my meds i have severe head zaps and couldn't manage just stopping (Cold Turkey) if that was the case. She then put me on a course to taper off: X2 weeks 30mg Cymgen & 20mg LilyFluoxetime (prozac)- After two weeks i stopped the Cymgen and carried on taking the lily for another two weeks as requested by my doctor. I had my last Lily on the 18th of July 2016. It is now the 10th of August 2016. The withdrawals are so severe t...

I was taking Cymgen 60mg for about 7 months, and I recently changed to Brintellix. To ween myself off of Cymgen, I took a half dosage for 8 days, then took both my new prescription of Brintellix and my half dose of Cymgen for another 4 days before completely stopping with Cymgen, as recommended by my psychiatrist. I have had horrible withdrawal symptoms, and I'd like some indication of how long they should last for? They include vertigo, dizziness, headaches, nausea etc.. ## Hello, Gabby! How are you? Have your symptoms gotten any better? You may actually be experiencing a double whammy, withdrawal effects from stopping the one, as well as new side effects from starting the Brintellix, the FDA lists everything you mentioned as being among it's typical side effects. You may also ...

iv been taking cymgen 60 for about 4 months tryed to get off the tablet but experienced bad withdrawals,so im on cymgen 30 now for 2 months but i want to get off this tablet but need to know if there is something non addictive to help get off this tab and help with the withrawals ## What has your doctor advised? Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and since it does work on brain chemicals, it can cause withdrawal and rebound effects, if stopped suddenly. Your doctor, however, should be able to help you taper off of it and may be able to suggest something, or prescribe something that will minimize the withdrawal and rebound effects. For instance, some people have good luck with Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl, because it is...

I was taking 30mg of Cymgen per day over a period of approx one year. Three months ago I had a small meltdown and my doctor doubled the dose. After speaking to him a week ago I asked whether I could resume 30mg dose. He agreed. However, since then I am plagued by very vivid nightmares (kidnapping, collapsing houses etc) and weird images. Is this in line with withdrawal? ## Yes. I'm having terrible nightmares too. But i think we have to stick it out.

I'd like to get off Cymgen 60mg and change my lifestyle and diet intead of depending on drugs. I also want to use supplements. I have been on Cymgen 60mg for 8 months now. Will I be able to be weened off safely by a professional? How does the weening off process work? ## Hello, Aiden! How are you? Yes, they could definitely help you wean off this medication, usually they have you gradually start lowering your dose every week, or two. The FDA warns that if the process is undertaken too fast, you may experience some withdrawal effects that could include nausea, chills, rebound depression, muscle aches and anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for the feedback. Are you on Cymgen? How is your condition?

If it was while you were still taking it, then they can't be withdrawal symptoms. Learn more Cymgen details here. I accidentally lost my Cymgen 60mg while on holiday and it was two days before I was able to get it again. The first day without it I experienced what I can only describe as a "zing" in my head. It's like I can see an electric pulse and feel the vibrations down my body. It's a sharp and quick sensation. Usually occurring when I stand up, or when I move around too much. The second day it got increasingly worse and I started a migraine. Is this normal? ## Yes, any time you've been taking a medication for awhile and suddenly miss a few doses, or stop taking it abruptly, it's normal to experience some mild withdrawal and rebound effects. Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and they can be especially problematic, since the...

Have been on cymgen for nearly 7 years now. It has worked but now the side effects are getting to be too much. Muscle stiffness, constant headache and I can't go a single day without them, it's the worst feeling ever. I have been a drug addict for 15 years and not even opioid withdrawals are as bad as cymgen withdrawals. I have tried to cut down to 30 mg but couldn't bare the withdrawals. Now I am on 60 mg and its seems to not work as good as it use to. Somedays I really can't get up. I am always so stiff in my neck. I also get heart palpitations, bad blood circulation and I feel withdrawn from everything around me. I don't feel any emotion. This is now enough. I want to stop taking this med. This is not a life I promise you that. ## Hello, Andre! How are you? When d...

My Dr has cut my Cymgen from 60mg to 30mg i am feeling out of sorts is that normal. She said its not good to take antidepressants for so long. But i felt fine taking them is it bad? ## Hello, Delwynne! How are you? There are risks with taking any medication on a long-term basis, but many people do require them for the rest of their lives, be it an antidepressant, a heart medication, a blood thinner, or a blood pressure medication. The risks may possibly include stomach ulceration, liver damage, liver failure or kidney damage/failure, as reported by the FDA. And yes, with such an abrupt lowering of your dosage, it is normal to feel out of sorts, it can cause withdrawal effects. Have you considered getting a second opinion from a different doctor? ## Hi there I am feeling a lot better. Do...
