1st off let me thank you for taking the time to answer my ?... I am on Geodon an atypical antipsychotic for Bipolar Disorder. I have Gastro Paresis and my stomach doesn't empty the correct way and it causes severe nausea and vomiting. I was on Phenergan for the nausea (I tried Zofran it didn't work) but my Health Insurance stopped paying for Phenergan. So My Doctor put me on Compazine 10mg (its a typical antipsychotic). I took it years ago, and it made me restless and I felt like I had to keep moving my legs. My Doctor knows this but its pretty much my only option. I am already on Cogentin .5mg 2x day b/c the Geodon I'm on make me have tremors. I was wondering if I go up on my Cogentin dose to 2mg 2x a day if that would work. I use to be on that dose before, but my Doctor lo...

I'm currently taking 500mg hydrocodone/apap every six hours for pain plus 250mg divalproex sodium twice daily. Is it alright to also take 10mg compazine for nausea or are there any side effects I should be aware of? ## What has your doctor advised? Generally, it is listed that the Compazine should be avoided with both of the other two medications. When combined with the Divalproex, it increases the risk of depression of the central nervous system. And with the Hydrocodone, it can increase the chances of that, plus it can cause severe constipation issues due to paralyzed bowel.
