Long red with no markings or numbers on it ## With no markings, it is most likely something that's available over the counter. All manufactured prescription drug products in the U.S. have to have unique imprints to enable their identification, so we can rule it out as being one of them. Learn more OTC drug details here. There is also a small chance that it may be a foreign medication. Where was it found? The general location may help to narrow it down.

Could order from magazine in early 90s ## Hi Chaya, What type of medication are you referring to? There are many black capsules that could be OTC, Rx, or even dietary supplements; so I can't really narrow down what you're looking for until we get a name or imprint. I doubt the availability is there if you're ordering medications from a magazine that's at least 20 years old. However if you did order from a magazine, odds are it probably wasn't a prescription or OTC drug. It could very well be a supplement of some sort. Have you had any experience taking them in the past?

looks like time release and the number "1" ingraved on one side ## HI, Lorraine! Where did you find it? I've tried searching several databases now, since first seeing your post, but I haven't found anything that matches this among the U.S. prescription medications. I think it's most likely that this is an over the counter product of some type and that's why I asked where you found it, since some products are regional and knowing the general location may help to narrow it down. Does anyone else recognize this capsule?

I found a pink and cream colored capsule with a rx or hourglass looking symbol and 311 over 50 imprint I need to know what this is if anyone could help. Thanks ## Hi monica, I haven't come across an exact match to your pill yet, but I did find out that Teva Pharmaceuticals puts an hourglass symbol on some of their pills (i.e. two small triangles facing one another). A good example of what I'm describing the hour glass symbol to look like is portrayed in a 50mg orange Cyclosporine capsule. If you google that maybe it'll give you an idea of who the manufacturer is... Does anyone else recognize this pill as something made by Teva?

Pill was found at work - trying to identify ## Hi Kim, The closest match I can find is Verelan PM (200 mg); which belongs to the drug classes calcium channel blocking agents, group IV and antiarrhythmics. It has been used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, and most recently, cluster headaches. This medication comes in the form of a pink capsule with white beads on the inside and the imprint Schwarz 4086. Maybe the imprints got rubbed off somehow? Pill capsule blue and yellow marked sandoz 78-23 help ??? ## Hi Jake, The closest match I'm finding to your description is a blue and yellow capsule marked with "S F-C" on the blue half and the word "Sandoz" over "78-107" on the yellow half in red letters. It's reported to be Fiorinal w/ Codeine, containing 325mg of Aspirin + 50mg of Butalbital + 40mg of Caffeine + 30mg of Codeine; marketed for treating headaches. Since this bears a similar imprint to your pill, I'd be curious to know if yours could be the same type of medication. One thought though would be to contact Sandoz directly to see if this is the case or not. Their customer service department for product inquiries can be reached at: 1 (800) 525-8747 I hope this helps!

it is a white capsule shaped pill with the line to divide it in half. It has no specs or anyother things to identify it by. ## Do you mean there is no imprint on the tablet? If so, it is going to be difficult to try and narrow down what this is. More than likely it is something available over the counter and that is a pretty broad range of items to choose from. There is also a chance that it could be a foreign medication. Where was it found?

I found a black and red capsule pill that has Dex twice on both halfs (red and black ) ## Hi Samiam, I located a black capsule that has 'Dex' twice (once on each half) that is rumored to be diet / stimulant related, and could possibly contain ephedrine, dexedrine, or hoodia. These are the three main prospects I've honed in on, although I still think a lab analysis would probably be your best bet for narrowing down the options. Also, there's a manufacturer by the name of Delmar Labs who is known for putting "DEX" on their capsules. Perhaps that company may have some leads... I hope this helps!
