Can You Take Tramadol With Ibuprofen

Two bottom teeth extracted towards the back ## Hi Tee, From what I could gather, there aren't any drug interactions listed between Ibuprofen and Tramadol. So as far as mixing the two is concerned, both medications are generally regarded as safe to use together. But if you're ever looking for an alternative to ibuprofen, there's also a similar brand I know of called Ultracet that contains both Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Sometimes you can only take so much of a certain medication, where as having a backup option might come in handy if you can get your doctor to prescribe it. I hope this helps! Was there anything else specifically that you had a question about?

Can meloxicam 15mg once a day be taken with tramadol 50mg? ## Hi noelle.....yes, tramadol and Meloxicam can be taken together. Meloxicam is a NSAID and tramadol is an analgesic pain med. You are safe.....I took both of those meds at one time but Meloxicam does not help me at all. OTC Ibuprofen works the best as a NSAID for me. ## I am almost finished with all my tramadol a and need to get off of them can I take meloxicam where I won't go into withdrawals

She just got her tooth pulled and ut hurts really bad ## Hello, Arlene! How is your daughter doing? She can take, if it's been prescribed for her, but shouldn't be given to her otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opioid, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If it wasn't prescribed for her, you should consult her dentist or doctor regarding what she can take. Ibuprofen or Tylenol may help. Holding ice against that area can also ease the soreness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am having severe tooth pain on left upper molar. inside of mouth is swollen, gum swollen, left side of face swollen, tooth feels slightly loose. I have constant throbbing nerve pain. tonight is a weekend night. I need something to help with pain until I can get to the dentist tomorrow. Pain is unbearable without meds. is it okay to take cyclobenzaprine, tramadol, trazodone, ibuprofen, and tramadol together? that is how painful tooth pain is. ## I am very sorry about the dental problem that you're having. However, you shouldn't take any medication that hasn't been prescribed for you and neither the Trazodone, nor the Cyclobenzaprine will do anything to help with the pain or infection. Trazodone is antidepressant that also helps with some cases of severe insomnia and Cyclobe...

This is for major pain in my upper back when ibuprofen and cyclobenzaprine aren't working. I would like to add tramadol and want to know if it's safe to do so? ## Had it been prescribed for you? The FDA classifies it as a mild opiate that carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications?

I tore my ACL & MCL And bruised my tibia pretty good. I'm in a lot of pain and swelling. Can these two medicines be taken together every 4 hours. P.s I was also prescribed Vicadin which i won't take ## The link below provides the medication guide for this product: duexis.com/DUEXIS%20Prescribing%20Information.pdf Hope this helps. ## Duexis contains Ibuprofen with Famotidine and I am not finding an interactions listed between using it with the Tramadol, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can tramafol be taken 2 months after discard date

Hi! I am visiting my family in Texas from Atlanta. I have pinched a nerve in my shoulder since I've been here. The only thing my grandmother has to give me is Tramadol. I am hesitant to take it because I'm afraid it will screw me up and I won't be able to take my evening dose of suboxone 4mg. Does anyone have any advice on this? ## I would advise against the Tramadol because (a) it is contraindicated while taking suboxone, and (b) it would most likely affect any lab work which your pm specialist would have you submit and you would risk being discontinued treatment. Instead, you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist if you can take an OTC pain medication such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen, just don't take any other opioid type of medication. I hope this helps...

I went to the dentist for an extraction and he extracted a tooth at 3.30pm. And now the pain is so bad at 11.30pm. I want to know if tramadol will relieve some of the severe pain ? ## ya..offcource it will give relief .No problem you may take this. But in such condition Ibuprofen is choice of drug . ## No, Dr.......ibuprofen is not the choice of drug....not after any kind of surgery. Too much of a bleeding risk. It's ok, in THIS case to take it after 3-5 days but, personally, I would take the TRAMADOL. My oral surgeon always prescribed hydro or oxycodone for the pain......NO NSAID's. ## Can I Take 50 mg or 100 mg of Tramadol for pain from a tooth extraction? 0r IBprofen? ## Tramadol can be taken, as long as it has been prescribed for you. I've got 100x 50mg Tramadol capsules in foil blister packs, with an expiry date of Dec 2007. I was prescribed them years back for extremely painful broken bones in my foot. Last year I was knocked of my motorcycle and got a number of injuries that I'm still struggling with. For a few months I was prescribed 60mg Codeine, but now I'm just on 1200mg ibuprofen and 4000mg paracetamol daily, but it's nowhere near as effective as the codeine was. Doc won't prescribe codeine again as it's addictive .....so, here I am, in constant pain and I've found my old unused box of tramadol. I'd really like some relief and respite from the constant hip and back pain I have, so do you think it would be ok to take some of the expired tramadol? 100mg at first I was thinking? I...

Does 50mg of tramadol potentiate 20mg hydro (2 10's) ## Hello Badkitty! How are you? No, they are not known to potentiate each other. According to the FDA, substances that may potentiate a narcotic include medications, such as Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen and Aspirin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I,m already prescribed tramadol for pain is it helpful for toothache? ## Hi Dot, Based on my research, Tramadol can be a feasible treatment option for pain associated with toothaches. Although certain over-the-counter meds such as ibuprofen are usually considered first line treatment options, it seems to be quite common for dentists to prescribe Tramadol in and of itself, or in combination with something like ibuprofen for serious tooth pain. You may also want to talk with your doctor or dentist about using an antibiotic (e.g. clove essential oil) to help fight the infection as well. I hope this helps!

Recently had surgery and have developed allergy to acetominophen. Doctor does not want me to take ibuprofen, Aleve, or ASA. What are my choices?? Tramadol does not provide any pain relief. ## There are other NSAIDs on the market that you might be able to try. You can learn more about them here: There are also many opiates available, without being coupled with any of the medications you listed, you can learn about them and the available options here: Another over the counter option might be Naproxen, but I recommend also checking with your doctor, before taking it: Did your doctor make any suggestions?

I was PAINFULLY curious as to the effectiveness tramadol has for moderate/severe toothaches. Usually 800-1000 mg(4 or 5)of ibuprofen alleviate my toothaches, but my friend gave me 6 50mg. tramadols suggesting they might help. Please, anyone with info or reply will be greatly appreciated. thanks!!! ## For anyone looking for this information, Tramadol is a centrally acting analgesic, so it really has as good of a chance of helping with a toothache as any other pain reliever. The caveat, of course, is that this is a prescription medication, so it shouldn't be taken if your doctor hasn't prescribed it. Additionally, it is derived from an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation...

Iv had three wisdom reeth extracted two days ago and the pain is getting worse.. Iv been prescribed tablets that don't dont seem to help very much at all.... Is it ok to take two melfen at once as I was told that was te strongest of what I was given. I was also given solpadol tablets too... Can they be mixed? ## Hello, Sazcoyne! How are you? No, the Melfen just contains Ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. However, the Solpadol contains Paracetamol and Codeine, the Codeine is actually a narcotic analgesic, which would likely help a bit more. And no, please don't double up on anything with your dentist's approval. Are there any other questions or concerns?

My opinion is stay the hell away from this drug. I took it for less than a week for severe back pain. I experienced the following, all of which indicate a deadly allergic reaction and are supposed to be rare: -extreme swelling of the tongue to the point where my teeth were cutting into it; -trouble sleeping/night terrors; -constant itching at night that was affecting my sleep; -frequent feeling of having to urinate. The drug did barely anything for my pain and I had to up my dose within two days. That was when the side effects started. Again, not worth it. Please stay away. Pharmacists and doctors will insist that the drug is safe but it isn't. I've also personally talked to three people who have had seizures as a result of this drug. Ibuprofen will do as much for pain as Tramad...

red kali 083 ## WHAT IS IT USED FOR? ## This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it contains both Acetaminophen and Tramadol so it is a little stronger than just Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alone. It is non-narcotic, so it is really mild and only helps with minor aches and pain.

I broke my foot and I'm in severe pain. What I have is called a lisfranc fracture. I was on Tylenol threes and they didn't help and then I got hydrocodone 5 - 3 - 5 and they didn't help the last thing I tried was Oxycodone 5 325 and they still didn't really take the pain away. So I asked my doctor for something that would help the pain and he prescribed me Tramadol 50 mg. I am apprehensive to get it filled and try it because I'm not reading anything positive about it. Please help! What is the next thing I should ask for if Oxycodone 5 325 isn't helping with my pain? I don't like that it has so much Tylenol in it I would rather have something just for the pain that doesn't include Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Please advise if you can. thank you! ## While being a ...

I have a severe allergic reaction to aspirin (large hives and feinting). I have arthritis in both of my hands. My doctor gave me Tramadol which is only helping some. Is there at least one antiinflamatory I can take where it won't cross react with my allergy. My allergy to aspirin is as severe as someone allergic to penicillin. ## Hi Sharon, A few other options I would consider, are: Ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil, Diclofenac, or even a natural alternative such as Turmeric (Curcumin); which contains more than two dozen anti-inflammatory compounds. According to an article on NaturalNews.com, "Curcumin is proven to be even better for relieving arthritis pains and stiffness than expensive pharmaceuticals, without any side effects.
