Can You Cut Hydrocodone In Half 10 325

I have been taking Hydrocodon-APAP 10-325 2 PILLS EVERY 4 HOURS 3 to 4 times a day for 15 years. My problem is the last few prescriptions I've received have not done much to help with the pain. The last few prescriptions are Watson 853 tablets. I have taken as many as 4 to 4 & 1/2 pills within an hour & a half & it was like I was taking nothing!! I have heard that sometimes the medicine is replaced with a placebo or that the Government is cutting down the ingredient that actually give fast pain relief. Just be careful not to exceed 3,000mgs of Acetaminophen a day, unless your doctor instructs otherwise and no more than 1,000mgs every 8 hours. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. I was put on Hydrocodone for 3 years due to a stroke I had. My pain is coming from the brain. The PM'S started me off with 5-325. No results on the pain. Then they increased the dose 7.5-325. Some relief but not much in order to have a quality of life. Then they increased it to 10-325 90 per month. In the wee hours of the morning I would wake up with pain, so I was cutting one in half, leaving me short of pills for the month. So they increased it to 120. I got to where I was taking too many and the PM discharged me for a breach of contract. Then I found another PM. Same thing happened, but this time instead of discharging me they put me on week to week basis - 21 pills a week. I need to know what these 3 pills are? Each pill is white with a dividing line where the pill could be cut in half on one side and M367 stamped on the back side. I was in an auto accident almost 9 years ago and have had low and mid back pain ever since. I have had a few things done over the years (mri,facet joint injections, etc) and everything has came back clean or hasn't helped. At the moment I go to pain management that does not do anything for me. I have been there 3 years and have had nothing but trigger point injections. They won't up my pain meds either! I have been on hydrocodone 10/325 for 3 years. My back hurts through the pain meds all the time and the one time I told my doctor that my pain meds don't work very good, my doctor said I was an addict and cut my prescription in half. Which Is Stronger Hydrocodone Apap 5mg 500mg Or 10 325 ## Hi Kim, I can't really tell you if one will be stronger or not since medications can affect everyone differently, some people get great results from taking, but there are others that it doesn't work for; the only way to find out is to actually try it. If I were to make an assumption though, I'd say that the 10/325 combination may be more effective, since the amount of Hydrocodone is doubled and the amount is Acetaminophen is not completely cut in half in comparison to the 5/500 combination. I wasn't able to find a list of all the various dosages that are available for Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen. So it could be that my assumption is wrong, but none the less, you'd have to try them both and compare the effects ...
