Can U Feel Methadone After Taking Subutex

Hello my name is kev. I have been consuming about 3 to 6 mg of Subutex daily for about 7 months. I'm very eager to eliminate the Subutex and start on these Methadone. Is it safe to consume Methadone 20 mgs the day after taking about 3 mgs of Subutex? I heard Suboxone was the dangerous one, not Subutex and I also heard the taking Methadone after Subutex is safe apposed to Methadone to Subutex. Any answers would be highly appreciated. Can you take methadone 16 hours after taking a little less then half of a 8mg Subutex? ## Yes, but you may not feel the methadone. And it's the other way around, taking methadone then subutex can cause problems. ## I have been on suboxone for about three weeks and ran out, but went 4 days without then took 5 mg of methadone because that was all I had left. Ive been on 160mg of methadone for 2 years but i cant Feel it at all, if i switch to subutex will i feel Them? ## @drew, According to The National Alliance of Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment (naabt.org), it is recommended that patients slowly reduce their Methadone dosage down to 30mgs for a period of at least a week, BEFORE attempting to discontinue it completely - AND THEN waiting at least 36 hours before starting Buprenorphine. They also go on to emphasize that patients "MUST" be in a mild to moderate state of withdrawal before taking their first dose of Buprenorphine. I took 30 mg of Methadone in the morning and an 8 mg Subutex in the afternoon. I don't feel sick. Am I supposed to? ## My DR started me on 10mg of methadone. couple of days later, my mouth was parcially numb and my taste was all messed up. I didnt even consider it to be the methadone. I thought it was something I ate. but then after a few more days, I figured it had to be the methadone. Has anyone else had methadone cause their inside moth to be numb or totally mess with their taste buds? Hi, I started suboxone yesterday after being on methadone for 3 and half years. I went from 85ml to 30ml. I waited 36hrs before taking my first dose of 8mg yesterday, it made me feel ok but not great. I took 16mg this morning @ 8:30. An hour later I was sick and 5 hours later sick again, I feel like s***! I want to go back to methodone asap!! When would be safe to take some methadone? Honest answers plz. Hi my name is Chloe. I have been on a script now for just over a year. was on methadone. But now am on subutex. Im abit worried as you are meant to let subutex dissolve under your tongue. But I have never been able to do that as I gag and throw up. I crunch them with the front of my teeth and swallow very quickly with water. My husband was on 32 mg of methadone and has waited 96 hours to start his Subutex. During these 96 hours he has taken a total of ten 30 mg Oxycodone's. He took 4 mg of subutex this morning and was withdrawing about an hour after this dose. he took about three more milligrams of Subutex and he is sweating & saying he doesn't feel right. He has waited for about 14 hours in between the last dose of oxycodone and Subutex. I have been taking 32 mg suboxone/subutex for over a year. I switched to Methadone four days ago. I had my fourth dose of methadone today...50 mg. I feel like I’m in at least partial withdrawal, even though it’s only been 12 hours. There’s not much methadone built up in my system, so would it be safe to take subs now? I feel lousy, but I’m terrified of precipitated withdrawals. I’m guessing that wouldn’t happen, because the methadone hasn’t had a chance to build up in my system. Any advice would be so appreciated! I took 3/4 of subutex yesterday at 3 pm and the rest at 1/4 at 5 am im still in alot of pain how long before I can take a methadone ## That would depend on how much methadone. Subutext doesn't have Naloxin in it do withdrawls wouldn't be in your future. However subutext is more efficient if taken at the same time everyday, here's why. When you take it the sub builds up in your plasma and has a much longer life than methadone or other opiates. As it stays it builds up the plasma levels out, creating like a barrier for pain. Does that make sense to you? When the levels drop you start to feel more pain and eventually withdrawls if not continue and also if your building a tolerance which I have had issues with and never had with other opiates. I've been taking 30mg of Methadone for a few months. I've had 3 severe back surgeries and started taking the Methadone until I could get into pain management. I had a medial nerve block yesterday and I also only took 10mgs of Methadone yesterday, too. The pain Dr. wrote me the Butrans 5mcg/hr patch. I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I was on a high dose of methadone - 135ml & in total have been on that & now Suboxone & Subutext for a total of 10 years. I've spent the last few years reducing & am now on 2mg of Suboxone & 1.2mg of Subutext. I've actually had to stop reductions as I've been really sick for the last 7 months. I feel nauseous & weak all the time, occasionally throw up & burp up sick all the time. I am currently 8 months preg. Throughout preg. Dropped from 8mg subutex to 1-2 mg daily and spoke to hospital doc and OB hosp. Doc said I can stop if I feel comfortable since im on such low dose. I would like to get off the methadone. Im sick of the clinic rules, the police watching people go in and out and the expense. I know chasing drugs is expensive but I want to switch to subs.
