Can Neurontin Cause A False Positive On Drug Test

I came up positive today for methamphetamine on a urine test. I've never touched that drug a day in my life. Does too much of it in your system cause that? I also take tegrotol, remeron, and catapress. They sent it out but I'm going crazy because I don't know what's going on....someone please help! ## I recently had a urinalysis sent to a lab. I just began taking Gabapentin maybe 2 to 3 weeks before this. I came up positive for cocaine and I never ever have done cocaine! My opinion is yes it does throw false positives. I spoke to someone who was in jail and people were coming up positive for benzos and cocaine while taking the Gabapentin. I failed a drug test for a job and I showed positive for methadone and morphine, but I take neurontin, tramadol, atorvastatin, losartan, and 70/30 insulin novolin 1000 milligram. Hi, Im 37yr. old caucasian male. Im in methadone maintenance, and i have begun slowly taperin off it. I take 90mg methadone, 30mg oxazepam morning only, and now I tried recreational dosage gabapentin (neurontin). I learned, that for fun, its worth of nothing except poisoning own body. Can neurontin give a false positive for cocaine in a urine drug test? ## Neurontin contains the active ingredient Gabapentin, it is an anticonvulsant, which has also been shown to help certain types of nerve pain. I am on mmt and I take neurontin and xanax, i just failed a ua for having more klonipin than xanax in my system. I have not been on klonopin in several years. Is there anything that could have caused this to happen? I'm in alot of trouble for this and am very upset. ## Xanax is indicated to test positive for Benzodiazepines. And since Xanax and Klonopin belong to the same drug class (benzodiazepines) and are similar medications, it would make sense that Xanax is the cause for the false positive result. I take soma, lortab, trazadone, buspar, Vistaril, Zoloft, melatonin, valerian root, naproxen, and occasionally Benadryl. I showed up benzos in my drug test and my doctor uses a good test, so I am puzzled. Would any of these make me show for having benzos on my test. ## Yes trazadone is the culprit ..happened to me a few times .. Gabapentin (neurontin) does not show up as anything in a drug test. If it had the chance to show up as anything, a benzo maybe but definitely not coke or crack. Hi, I currently take the following meds; percocet 10/325 (3x day) neurontin 300mg (3x day) mobic 7.5mg (2x day) prevacid 40mg (1x day) klonopin 1mg (as needed, usually 3 per week as much as 1 per day) lisinopril 40mg (1x day) atenolol 50mg (2x day) I also take several vitamin supplements (multivitamin, milk thistle, vitamin B12, vitamin e). My doc drug tested me and said the test showed I had ingested suboxone which I had NOT. I do not take lyrica. I received a letter from my doctor saying that I must be getting lyrica from someone else, violating our agreement. I do take neurontin. But I do not take lyrica. Help!! Although, on the cheaper, less reliable tests, it seems anything is possible. False positives are known to occur on them anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time.
