Can I Take Hydrocodone With Naproxen

Took a vicodin 10 mg 4 hrs ago. I have a terrible migraine is it safe to take a naproxen now? ## Hello, Kim! How are you? It should be, as long as your doctor approves. I didn't find any interactions or problems listed, though it's always best to double check such information to be sure. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Naproxen is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband has 2 hernia, and severe hip pain. Could be pain from 2 groin hernias make him so painful. Has hydrocodone 5 325. Can he take naperxon 500 with it. ## yes he can tell him he can eat a snack with it to prevent stomach upset ## Hi Sammy, I just wanted to add from my own experience that I too have taken this combination of meds in the not so distant past, after a nose surgery. I don't recall having any issues at that time, other than typical (minor) side effects such as nausea and dizziness that is commonly associated with many medications. However I understand that everyone reacts/responds differently and that trial and error is something we all must undergo at some point in order to find out what works best. Hopefully the addition of naproxen will help. If not, maybe his d...

I'm in so much pain right now and I took a naproxen about 6 hours ago(which unfortunately hasn't helped) and I also have a script for norco. Is it ok to take the norco now? ## Hi Princess02, Sorry to hear about your pain. From what I could gather, there aren't any drug interactions listed between Naproxen and Norco (hydrocodone + acetaminophen). And with that said I don't have any real reason to believe that it isn't ok to use them together. However this is not to say that their own individual side effects are any less of a risk. So if you do happen to experience bothersome symptoms (knock on wood) I would still encourage you to contact your doctor just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps! ## Hydrocodone and Naproxen are often prescribed together. ## It's tru...

Hello I recently broke my ankle and the doctors prescribed me hydrocodone to take away the pain because the naproxen wasnt working. The hydrocodone only lasts 6 hours am i able to take naproxen or ibprofen after the 6 hours to help with the pain so i dont have to take another vicodin? ## Princessjeffy06, as long as you don't have any problems taking Naproxen, you can take it when you take the Hydrocodone or when the Hydrocodone wears off. Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and helps reduce inflammation. Hydrocodone is an opiate and helps relieve pain. It is common for drs to prescribe them together.

I have had a fever ranging from 100.5 to 102.0 for just over 24 hours. Fever went away and felt great all day today. But came back this evening. My body aches so bad and cannot get comfortable or fall asleep! I took a hydrocodone 5/325 an hour ago and my temp is still up. Is it OK to take a 500mg naproxen? I NEED SLEEP! ## They can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. Some people do take both, or alternate them to get better control of pain, or fevers. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications?

I've seen Naproxen and have been told Vicodin has this imprint as well. Are Naproxen and Vicodin the same? ## Naproxen and Vicodin are two very different pain medications. To my understanding, the similarities found in the imprint are just a sign that they had been manufactured or redistributed by the same company (Amneal Pharmaceuticals). The IP 190 500 tablet contains Naproxen 500mg (NDC 65162-0190); a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Ref: DailyMed The IP 109 tablet contains Vicodin (Acetaminophen 325mg + Hydrocodone 5mg); which is a combination of two types of pain medicine - Hydrocodone being an opiate narcotic pain reliever. (NDC 53746-109): Ref: DailyMed Hope this helps! ## You are probably confused because the markings are similar. Generic Norco 5/325mg (Hydrocodone/a...

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia and was wondering if it is ok to take the Naproxen sodium and Hydrocodone 10-325 together. ## Hi Eve, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Naproxen sodium and Hydrocodone. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. As such, I would personally think that it would be fine to take these two together whether you have those conditions or not. On the contrary though, if you are taking these together and you notice any side effects that are unpleasant or intolerable (in conjunction with the rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia), I would recommend that you stop taking them and contact your doctor ab...

Hey guys, the IP 109 / 500 is naproxen. But if you have an oblong pill with IP 109 and a line on the back I think it's Vicodin 5mg. Personally I think they look way too much alike. Always check. ## Hello, Kristin! How are you? Thank you for your helpful post! I'd just like to add some clarification to avoid confusion that may be caused by the typo… The 500mg Naproxen tablet has the marking IP 190 on one side and 500 on the other. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. The generic for Vicodin has the IP 109 on one side. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and...

Can I take naproxen 440 mg & hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 tb & 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine together? I fell down the stairs and have tremendous back spasms when I move at all. Thanks. ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential between Cyclobenzaprine and Hydrocodone, which states that taking the two together may increase your risk of certain side effects (such as: loss of balance, dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in mental awareness & slow or shallow breathing). They go on to note that if the two medications are deemed to be required, your doctor may adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to lessen these risk factors. I hope this info helps and that you get aro...

Is hydrocodone 10/325 and naproxen sodium 220 mg ok to take together? ## Hello, Kate! How are you? I'm sorry, to prevent spam posts, the site administrator/owner has set a limit on the number of characters that must be typed, in order to submit a post. And yes, they can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. I started on prednisone for extreme knee and hip pain. Can't sleep. No relief yet. Can I take hydrocodone? I took Tylenol several hours ago with no relief from that either. ## I was put on Celebrex, 200 mg, for severe hip pain and arthritis. Can't mix Advil (only Tylenol) which does nothing for me. Tried cutting a 5/300 Vicodin in half and that sure helped take the edge off. Am going to discuss further with my neuromuscularskeletal doctor. Trying to avoid an epidural shot and surgery. I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and scoliosis, along with arthritis. ## Thank You very much for sharing your challenge with me. It definitely helped me. I decided to break one of the 7.50 hydrocodones in half (i know naproxen is a no-np). I took half and within 10 minutes I felt NO pain....

I have very painful leg pain. I took naproxen but it gave me stomach cramps. The dr. also gave me ropinirole HCL 3mg, both do not work.. I am also a diabetic. Please help. Can I take methocarbamol and hydrocodone together to ease this pain? The dr. wants to try different medication. So far nothing works. I was also in the hospital for this pain, x-rays were taken. The only reason they could come up with was very bad arthritis. I think it has something to do with nerve pain. I also have a tingling feeling as well as pain in my legs. Yes I have spoken to the Drs. about this pain. I have spoken to them about that diabetic nerve medicine. But I guess they don't want to try it because I have seizures. What is a pink-ish / orange pill with G | 32 on one side, and 500 on the other inscribed on it? Could it be a Hydrocodone tablet? ## Hi Rachael - the tablet you described is Naproxen 500 mg, NOT Hydrocodone. (NDC 68462-190) Naproxen is an NSAID pain reliever, whereas Hydrocodone is an opiate pain reliever - so they are in different classes of meds. Inactive ingredients: - Microcrystalline Cellulose - Croscarmellose Sodium - Povidone - Magnesium Stearate I hope this helps! ## Is there such a thing for a pink pill and three lines on it? Could it be vicodin 500 or 7.5mg? Please help me. ## Hello, Terry! How are you? IP 190 with a divided line on the back of the pill is hydrocodone 5mg with 500mg acetaminophen. Definitely similar to the naproxen IP 190 with 500 on the other side. ## The tablet with the IP 190 500 marking is 500mgs of Naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The other tablet has the marking of IP 109 and it is a generic for Vicodin that contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The two different imprints have been confused here on other threads.

I have a white oblong pill with IP 190 on 1 side and nothing on the other side.As I looked for suggestions It was posted several times as being IP 190/500 Naproxen.I was told this is a 7.5 hydrocodone tablet not Naproxen. It does not have 500 on it at all ## Was it found in the U.S. or elsewhere? As you know from your searches, the ones available in the U.S. also have the 500 on the tablet. I have checked our various resources and they don't list anything with just the IP 190 marking on it. However, foreign medications wouldn't be listed in our databases and since the IP is the logo for IntraPharm, I'll keep looking and post back if I find anything. ## IT IS BOTH NAPROXIN AND HYDRO ## I have a pill that has ip 190 on one side and nothing on the other side. could you tell me w...

Hydros say IP 109 and Naproxen says IP 190 ## Hi amanda, Thanks for clearing up any confusion between the two pills! From what I could gather, another differentiating factor is that Naproxen's tablet also has "500" imprinted on the other side of IP 190; whereas with Hydrocodone/Apap, IP 109 is the only imprint. Is it ok for me to take one hydrocodone/Tylenol 325 and 2 OTC naproxen. ## Yes, as long as you can take Naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. ## Hello, Alicia! How are you? You should check with your doctor, before mixing them, actually. It is generally okay to do so, but can be contraindicated in some instances. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. i have a pill that is pink and shaped oblonged and on one side it has the number 93 and the other side 149.can you tell me what kind of pill it is? ## This tablet does not contain Hydrocodone, nor any narcotic of any type.
