The first time I received a prescription for dexilant, it was a very tiny all blue capsule. When I renewed the prescription it was a blue and grey capsule that is slightly larger but both were 30 mg. Why are they different? ## Because they way a medication looks actually means nothing, it is entirely up to the manufacturer. Since it is also illegal to copy the trademarked product from another company, they each have to make them look different. Imprints also have to be different from on company to the other, to identify the drug, dose and manufacturer, in case of emergency. The new ones that you received have just been made by a different company.
