I was just given a different brand of clonazepam (Klonopin) and it is like taking a placebo compared with other brands, such as Teva. Anyone else notice this? I take the 2mg tab ## Hi Brian, Sorry to hear about the medication feeling like a placebo. I for one think it has a lot to do with the different set of inactive ingredients found in each manufacturer's brand/generic. Reason I say this is because nothing else is usually changed on the Rx label when you switch between different versions. Apparently each 2mg tablet by Mylan Pharmaceuticals uses the following binders/fillers: anhydrous lactose + colloidal silicon dioxide + magnesium stearate + microcrystalline cellulose + pregelatinized corn starch + sodium lauryl sulfate Teva's 2mg Clonazepam reportedly contains: corn starch ...

I have bad eating binge eating disorder my dr is changing me from lexapro to the med pristiq i also have depression anytime someone in real life has offered me a life line i just ignore them i guess and run away. Please someone I dont know should i change? I did not think this drug was meant for anxiety problems like an ssr? HElp me i am so scared. ## Hi Jamie, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Based on my research, Pristiq (Desvenlafaxine) is in the drug class: Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It is used to treat major depressive disorder in adults. It works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain and could improve your mood, feelings of well-being, and energy level. I imagine that your doctor pre...

Can I take two 0.5 mg lorazepam pills to make a single 1 mg dose if they are different brands? ## Hi Amanda! U can, if it's the same medication. ## One thing to note is that even though they are the same medication, the binders/fillers are usually different among various manufacturer's brands and generics. I just think it's important to be aware of this since there are studies proving that inactive ingredients can often hinder a pill's absorption and bioavailability. Also, with lorazepam being a generic medication, the FDA allows manufacturer's to have a 20% variability in the amount of "active" ingredients; meaning that one pill could potentially be more or less effective than the other one... even if they list the same dosage. Other than that, it sounds lik...

I tried Latuda starting a month and half ago. Had a very stressful trip home many variables featuring extreme changes and suffering around me. I thrive on stability. Got extremely distressed and angry and had problems sleeping. I think the medicine actually helped. Have always been very suicidal and was going to get home and shoot myself but did not. Since then had a couple of angry dwelling days but have had seven great productive days in a row now and very hopeful for this medicine. History. I have been on Max Geodon and some wellbutrin for 3 years now and sleeping 12 hours a day. Usually pretty hopeless even though from outside i have great family life. Went on lamictal for awhile and too much anger. Lamictal curbed binge eating as well. I would suggest this medicine for anyone who i...

I have been on Chronic Pain meds since a botched bowel resection in 1998. In between bowel surgeries, I've had one knee replaced & am now 5'1" with the new left knee & am 4' 10" on the right.. Then a few weeks ago my whole right arm went out. I also tend to fall over. even sith chrutches full time. Do you really think you can help me? ## Hi Sarah, I am so sorry to hear about your situation, that sounds really rough. If I can offer any advice, it would be to try essential oils for your pain. There are lots of people who have used essential oils for pain as well as many other ailments and have benefited from them. Essent...

PEOPLE GOTA CALL AND COMPLAIN WHEN THEY SEE NO ONE IS BUYING THIER JUNK THAT WHO KNOWS MAY GIVE YOU CANCER 10 YEARS DOWN THE ROAD NO ONE KNOWS THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF THIS NEW FORMULA ## I absolutely agree with you. These pills suck! They are nothing like the old ones ## Hi LadyM, Sorry to hear about your experience with those Oxycodone pills. From what I understand, because each pill is manufactured by a different company, not only is there going to be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), but also if the medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient as well. For some people, these subtle differences are the equivalent of taking a completely different medication that may be absorbed and metabolized differently within your body (usually resulting in an increased or decreased potency). I hope this helps clear things up for anyone else trying to understand what might be going on with their medic...

I have bin diagnosed with rsd 1 stage 2. My doc wants me on gabapentin for pain nerve... but I'm allergic to gabba i don't know if i should take the medication due to a possible allergic reaction my pain levels are high from my feet to my legs and hips if anyone knows anything about gabapentin or rsd please help me ## Hello, Bee! How are you? It is not the same thing, Gabapentin is just the name of it. The FDA classifies it as an anticonvulsant that is also approved to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. However, please double check with your doctor, but I doubt you have anything to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with?

I currently take very high dosages of oxycodone 30mg ir and dilaudid 8mg. I think after the process of elimination that my body isn't tolerating the morphine (dilaudid) and I've been on oxy for years. I was on 80mg oc before the op and couldn't tolerate new op because of binder I wasn't getting the needed meds. I need to go off of the dilaudid going to dr tomorrow, I want to be educated and know if I switch over to only oxycodone is it reasonable to ask for the equivalent of oxy to the dilaudid in addition to the amount of oxy I am currently taking? Thank you and FYI I take 90mg oxy 4x day and 16mg dilaudid 4x day and I stagger so that pain is controlled round the clock. Thank you ps what I woul like is oxy equal to dilaudid dosage. ## Dialudid contains Hydromorphone, it...

I have been on Lexapro for a year and a half now 10 mg...I was wondering if anybody has had the side affect of weight gain I have gained 40 lb. since I have been on it..the strange thing is I don't do any binge eating or over eat due to my acid reflux...next doctors appointment I am going to ask to be put down to 5mg...it's so hard to go on the treadmill when you don't have any energy or will power..my anxiety is under control its my depression that gets me down and I just feel like sleeping all day..?? ## Some people have reported weight gain as a side effect and the FDA does not it among the possible ones, though it is not very common. Others are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. What other medications have you tried?

I broke out in a severe itchy rash. Is this common? ## Itching is unfortunately a common side effect of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone (Vicodin). I think it may be due to some sort of allergic reaction you might have to either codeine or one of the binders/fillers in their tablets. Learn More: Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone Have you taken any other codeine medications in the past with this happening?

I have two scripts of hydrocodone. One is stamped m365 and the other is n356. The n356 makes me sleepy & the m365 makes me hyper. Both bottles say they are the same thing, but how can I react so differently to them? ## Both M365 and N356 5, contain a combination of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone at a dosage of 5/325mg. However, there are still some unique differences... The N356 5 pill lists Hydrocodone bitartrate while M365 simply lists Hydrocodone (by itself). Bitartrate is an acid tartrate, that from what I could gather seems to play some sort of role in the absorption process. Each pill also contains a different set of binders and fillers. So it may be that some of these supposedly inert chemicals are affecting the way your body would typically respond to the medication as a whole....

Hi All, I just started 150mg Wellbutrin XR and 25mg zoloft 1 month ago for Binge Eating Disorder. I loved it! Trying to find the right combo though. 2 weeks ago I couldn't sleep at night. So I started Trazadone at night. It's a tad better but it lessens the Wellbutrin affect with my BED. I'm wondering how many take the instant release? Thinking maybe 75mg in the am and then half that the afternoon to help me sleep better. Any ideas? ## That might help, it really depends on what works for you, since all of us are different and may react differently to any given medication. It is something you could speak to your doctor about trying to see if they approve. The typical side effects of Wellbutrin are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia a...

It's possible that you could have a Nicorette pill that was manufacturer by a different company or this one just includes less of the binders and fillers in the formula. What are your thoughts? I have .25mg. But they taste like baby aspirin. ## Hello, According to several comments I'm seeing regarding its taste, alprazolam is frequently described as being very "bitter". However I think a lot of the taste attributes you find in a pill may vary depending upon the types of binders/fillers used throughout different manufacturers as well. Having said that, if you're trying to identify a pill based on taste alone, it seems to me like it would also be a good idea to have it analyzed by a lab just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps! ## I have been taking the round 1mg xanax and now the 1 mg football shape xanax... The round ones tasted very bitter and the football ones seem to have no taste... They came from the pharmacy..

I paid a lot for this garbage. The phramacy said they were going to send me rivotril -- same thing as klonopin, and sold in europe and elsewhere. Onapil, they say 2mg per pill, but they are really weak. I'm really mad but nothing i can do about it. India has almost no control or regulations on "pharmaceutical" companies. This one company had this Lona-2. It was coated. you cut one in half or chew it and the fillers or binders taste like sand. I wonder if this chalk in the Onapil is going to cause problems with me. My gut doesn't feel right. The strongest -- i use to take half a pill and it would do the job -- clonotril, you really got your money's worth. I am so angry. But you complain with a phone call or an email and its like "who the hell are you?" to me. ...

I just had to switch generic brands for my citalopram. I take 10mg; but this pill looks bigger than my old pill. Whereas the old one said .5 (or something to that effect), this one only has a "c" on one side. Is this really only 10mg? ## Based on my research, the pill you are describing is in fact Citalopram hydrobromide 10 mg. For verification, the size is: 6.00 mm Manufacturer: Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories National Drug Code (NDC): 57664-0507 From what I understand, it's not just the Citalopram taking up "real estate" in your pill. It's also filled with inactive ingredients (binders and fillers), "such as": corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and other things of that nature. What is the difference between roxicodone and oxycodone ? ## From what I understand, Roxicodone and Oxycodone are both the exact same medication. The only difference you might find would probably be in the list of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that different manufacturers use in their tablets. I think the real confusion sets in when people start discussing Percocet (which is sometimes partially labeled as Oxycodone). However, it also contains Acetaminophen; the differentiating factor between those two meds. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Oxycodone Details I hope this info helps to answer your question! ## Will oxycodone and roxicet be metabolized the same in the body?....thats all i NEED to know

How much does a 30 mg Oxycodone weigh? total weight? ## 13.5 ## How many mgs are in a 30 mg blue k9 oxycodone cause I know it is not a whole 30 mg ## jayman do you think they put fillers in there or something? i thought it is the law that the does has to match what's labeled? I definitely know there have to be inactive ingredients to help the binding of the pill or something but always assumed that the milligrams listed for the pill are supposed to be accurate? ## Generic medications are allowed to have a slight fluctuation in the amount of the active ingredient, from that in the name brand. The FDA considers the allowable amount to be therapeutically insignificant and it is plus or minus 20%, which in the case of many prescription medications doesn't even amount to a difference...
