Hi, I came off 40mg atovastatin 2 weeks ago cold turkey. Ever since I've had this immense pressure in my head that only goes when I go to sleep, my eyes are also blurry. I had another eye test yesterday and they say my eyes are fine. Do u think this could be related withdrawel symptoms of coming off the atovastatin? The drs haven't got a clue. Thanks. ## Hello, Louise! How are you? Have you had any other symptoms, such as pain or headache, or just the feeling of pressure? You can experience some withdrawal effects from stopping cold turkey, including rebound elevated cholesterol and possible blockages, as explained by the FDA. Your doctor does need to check this out for you. Are you on any other medications?

I have been taking atovastatin for 10 years. I had drastic side effects initially when my hair, eyebrows and eyelashes fell out. Despite many Consultant visits atovastatin was not thought to be the reason for hairloss. I have now become very forgetful and wonder if this could also be connected to the medication. ## Yes, hair loss is a possible side effect, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. Being forgetful could also be due to the medication. It might be best to try a different medication, so you may want to speak to your doctor about it. Are you on any other medications?
