I have taking this medicene on doctor's advice since last two years.But recently it was revealed that i have stones in my Gall bladder and Kidneys.Can Atorva is the cause. I have been prescribed Glycomet GP 2 forte(morning and evening) vobose 0.3(before food in morning) path 15(night) and atrova asp 75 (night). Is there are any side effects of using the medicines. I have also been prescribed penegra. Can this combination of medicine is okay, I am a diabetic for the last 7 years.

My doctor prescribed Atorva 40 mg tablets first for 1 month when my cholesterol was 388 MG/DL. When cholestorol, hdl & ldl levels became normal, he prescribed for 3 moths; again now after lipid test which is normal he has prescribed the same dose for 3 more months. Is it needed? I recently received a bottle of Atorvastatin from my pharmacy and it wreaks of the smell of alcohol. I thought it might be the medicine bottle so I put them in a different bottle and they still smell awful. I can also taste the alcohol. I take other meds and I do not taste or smell that anywhere else. I brought it back to the pharmacy and the pharmacist said he couldn't smell anything. I have since had others smell the medicine and they also smell that strong odor of alcohol. Either the pharmacist was lying to me or he had no sense of smell. Atorvastatin is just the active ingredient in Lipitor, so it's the generic for it, but is still the same medication. I cannot swallow pills. The instructions for taking Atorvastatin says do not crush or chew. Should I continue to take it this way? ## @flatball, From what I could gather, Atorvastatin only comes in tablet form, whereas you may just have to find a way to adhere to those instructions unless your doctor suggests otherwise. Another thought is to ask your doctor if dissolving the tablets in water would be an option as well? And lastly, if none of the above is suitable for your needs, then perhaps it would be best to find another alternative to Atorvastatin that comes in different dosage forms and without restrictions as to how it can be administered. Colestrol ## ## I have severy problems to sleep. Can Aspavor play a role in it? 56 YO Male, taking this after a stint. I also take Atenolol, 100mg daily, Losartan 100mg 2x daily and Clopidogrel 75mg daily. Since the stint and the new meds, I am constantly dizzy. I do not believe the stint has anything to do with it, since it saved my life. I have read blogs where people feel uncomfortable with this "metal thing" in their body.
