Is this a drug used in the treatment of depression? ## Based on the spelling and indication, I'm pretty sure you meant to say Lexapro. Lexapro is an antidepressant used for the treatment of major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder; other indications include social anxiety disorder, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Hope this helps! ## I had a dream last night about something like Lexoprin? It would relieve some of my chronic pain and weakness from viral infections, EBV, CFIDS, etc. I have been dealing with for over 50 years. But there is no Lexoprin, is there? I don't have major depression, or anxiety, though I like to be alone because of the above mentioned problems. ## There is a drug called Lexoprin which is used as a pain medication for tend...

All antidepressants are great! You can't go wrong! They make you tired all the time, everything is like a day-dream or being drunk 24/7, you have no concentration among other great side affects.Being 100% honest, I'm pretty certain it's the real life equivalent of being a zombie. I felt dead inside and have still not recovered fully two years on. If you want permanent issues to what in theory is a temporary problem take as many meds as you can. If you actually want to get better don't take tablets, go and actually talk to a professional who isn't paid to put you on tablets for the long run (they get bonuses for putting you on prescription for certain drugs) and speak to a Councillor. I found C.B.T. very helpful. Please please please ask yourself: "do I need to ta...

I have just upped my dothiapin from 50 to 75 and am having trouble with loseing my appitite and feeling sick ## Hello, Izzy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. Those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA, you may also experience seizures, stroke, abdominal cramps, diarrhea and black tongue. They are usually transient and should go away, once your body gets used to the new dosage. Is there anything else I can help with?

small round dark green 25 mg tablet ## There are many on the market in a 25mg dosage, the color doesn't actually mean anything. Can you provide any other information? Are there any other markings on the tablet? There is a list of the common ones, with more information here, so perhaps you will recognize the name of the correct one:

I was on Paxil and gained 60 lbs in 6 months. I took it as a migraine preventative and it worked wonders but I was always a normal weight and then suddenly I was FAT! After a few years, I could not stand it and switched to Cymbalta but I stayed fat. I do not know what to do. I changed my diet to no junk food at all and it does not seem to matter. I have tried to get off of it but when I taper off, I have terrible heart palpitations. Help! ## Hello, Mica! How are you? Most antidepressants do cause weight gain in most people that take them. You might want to try asking your doctor about trying Prozac/Fluoxetine. It is also an SSRI, just like the Paxil, but it isn't known to cause weight gain, as a matter of fact, in some people it may cause weight loss. Other side effects may include ...

I have been on Welbutrin 150mg for a few years and may need to add another antidepressant now. 300 mg is too much for me and doesn't work. I was given Lexepro 10mg but do not want to continue with this drug. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I could take that wouldn't have the horrific side and withdrawal effects of Lexepro? My issue is depression. Appreciate any feedback. ## Hello, Cassie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. What type of doctor are you consulting? I think a specialist would be best, because many of the other antidepressant react badly with the Wellbutrin, they tend to increase its toxicity, which could be dangerous. You might be able to aid a low dose of a medication like Abilify, which is approved to augment that act...

I take 75 mgs of anti-depressant tablets and want to know if it's safe to take Champix along with it? ## Which antidepressant do you take? I'm sorry, but there are different classes of them, so I need more details, in order to provide you with an accurate answer. Can you please post back with more details? The NIH warns that Chantix carries the risk of causing suicidal thoughts, other side effects may including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. ## RE: Taking champix with antidepressants I do take 75 mg venlafaxine XR, but am concerned if this is okay to do? ## Hi I take Mirtazapine 30 mg for my depression Would I be able to take champix To help me stop smoking I used champix many years ago before depression And they was great and made quitting smokin...

Just found out the antidepressant Pristiq has Gluten in it. Can you tell me if there is one that has not ## I'm sorry, but the relevant ingredient information we have is only accurate for medications that are available in the U.S. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? If you have a gluten allergy, you can also try making your pharmacy/chemist aware of that, so they can check medication ingredients for you. ## My wife has celiac disease (intolerance of gluten products). She may be suffering from depression, too. I'd like to know if there are any anti-depressants that are gluten-free, that is, safe for celiac patients to use.

I have recently stopped taking 375 mg Effexor after being on it for the past 10 years. Now I am trying to cease my 45mg Mirtazapine, which I have also been on for 7 years. I have started by halving the tablet 3 days ago and want to know how quickly I can reduce the dosage?

My pdoc prescribed 5 mg of ability twice a day, but when I mentioned an antidepressant he said that would not be a good idea....now he feels I have bipolar disorder but aren't individuals with bipolar normally on an antidepressant along with mood stabilizers or antipsychotics? I'm just confused......any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks ## In my honest opinion, a good doctor won't prescribe anyone more medications than they have to. Reason being (from my perspective) is that prescription drugs in general are only made to cover up (treat) the symptoms and emotions associated with the condition. But they do not help the patient fix the underlying cause of the condition. I'm stating this based on personal experience with severe depression for over 2 years, and cover...

have these round green pills no writing on them or number on the pill ## I'm sorry, but if there are no markings on it, it is going to be difficult to determine exactly what it is, there are quite a few possibilities. We can rule it out as being a U.S. prescription medication, because they are all required to have markings to enable their identification, but it could be a foreign medication or something that is available over the counter. Was it found/obtained in the U.S. or elsewhere?

The fact that you guys are even thinking about mixing alcohol with antidepressants tells me you are not serious about controlling your depression. Alcohol is a depressant! Taking anti depressants and drinking is like giving a hemophiliac an aspirin to thin their blood. Makes no sense at all. If you guys really want to get better then get serious and pay attention to the warnings on your prescription bottles and pharmaceutical instruction sheets. How do you expect any drug to work for you if you don't take it as prescribed? Continuous mixing of alcohol and antidepressants has one result...death. Take responsibility for your health. Do what the doctor says and if the drug still doesn't work out for you let the doctor know so he can make an informed decision about your care. Look a...

Is there any anti-depressants available that actually can make you loose weight and not gain? ## There's no pill that can make you lose weight. Weight loss comes from calories in and calories out. If you are not eating properly and exercising on a regular basis then it is not the pills fault for having a negative effect on your weight. Surely the drug may have an effect on your metabolism, but this is to a small degree if you cover all the other basis of your health; including but not limited to: Adequate hydration throughout the day Plenty of fruits and vegetables Low fat consumption Exercising at least 3 days a week Adequate rest and sleep schedule Loving others around you and enjoying life Essentially, if you are missing any one of these factors, you will be more prone to experie...

i am on prodap, tryptomer and restyl for the past 12 yrs. i hav got rashes on my legs and feet for the past 4 yrs. no medicine is of any help for the rashes. can it be due to antidepressants?wat shd i do? ## Since you have been on them 7 yrs longer then you have actually been experiencing the rashes, it is unlikely that you are allergic to the meds. But something is going on in your system. I would recommend telling your doc about your symptoms and also recommend having some allergy test done. It could very well be environmental or changes to your body, (like pregnancies as an example) or possibly you have developed a food allergies. Best of luck to you finding the cause of your rash. They are no fun! On a side note. Make sure you are using organic products, like lotion and body wash. Th...

antidepressant containing opium or opiates. Opiates used for depression. ## That is not a common use for opiates, in modern times, due to their addictive nature and the risk of abuse, which the FDA warns about. They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. What other medications have you tried? Have you tried any SSRIs, or SSNRIs? Some examples would be Prozac, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, or Cymbalta?

Why not covered in Medicare and disability. It's the only antidepressant that really worked for me but after going on Medicare almost impossible to get. ## Yes. It works great but it is so high even with my fed bobs ins that I can't even take it. It sucks ## From an outsider, it's difficult to determine specifically "why" certain insurance companies don't provide coverage for certain medications. However I can only speculate that in some way shape or form they probably don't receive enough benefit or profit from doing so, otherwise it would be listed on the drug formulary. As unfortunate as this sounds, greed is the nature of many insurance companies. I've seen a number of documentaries surrounding medical insurance agencies and how they make their decisi...
