Name of tablet for anxiety starting with z ## I'm sorry, I'm not sure what the brand names may be for medications where you are located. However, you can find more information and details on most antidepressants at the following link: Is there anything else I can help with? ## Zoloft?

What's an effective combination as SSRIs are contra-indicated? Bupropion just isn't efficacious. Anyone have any experience with other drugs and what are they? ## Hello, Sdarcy! How are you? I've been searching, but so far, everything I've found and checked is contraindicated with the Tikosyn. Did your doctor suggest anything else you can try? I even researched some of the antipsychotics. Tikosyn is listed by the FDA as being used to treat irregular heartbeat and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and cough. Does anyone else know of anything? ## Paxil is safe to use with Tikosyn. I am on low does for anxiety that caused PACs. On longer have premature beats.

I've been on Zoloft now for over a year for depression, decided to quit smoking 11/2010, started on Chantix, right after thanksgiving went to the ER with SEVERE, and i mean Severe Head pain that required cat scans, docs dismissed it as a side effect of chantix, gave me pain meds, sent me on my way, by this time i decided 1 chantix a day was sufficient, my general practioner agreed, the next month, i becam irritable, angry, moody, my family didn't know what was happening.... xmas eve day, i slashed my arm, for no reason...., i was supposedly in control of my depression...., had a nice few days in the hospital which refused my requests for my Chantix, i came home, content, happy, realizing the doc's had weaned me off Chantix, So this is a very SERIOUS WARNING, IF YOU are Takin...

Just found out the antidepressant Pristiq has Gluten in it. Can you tell me if there is one that has not ## I'm sorry, but the relevant ingredient information we have is only accurate for medications that are available in the U.S. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? If you have a gluten allergy, you can also try making your pharmacy/chemist aware of that, so they can check medication ingredients for you. ## My wife has celiac disease (intolerance of gluten products). She may be suffering from depression, too. I'd like to know if there are any anti-depressants that are gluten-free, that is, safe for celiac patients to use.

The fact that you guys are even thinking about mixing alcohol with antidepressants tells me you are not serious about controlling your depression. Alcohol is a depressant! Taking anti depressants and drinking is like giving a hemophiliac an aspirin to thin their blood. Makes no sense at all. If you guys really want to get better then get serious and pay attention to the warnings on your prescription bottles and pharmaceutical instruction sheets. How do you expect any drug to work for you if you don't take it as prescribed? Continuous mixing of alcohol and antidepressants has one result...death. Take responsibility for your health. Do what the doctor says and if the drug still doesn't work out for you let the doctor know so he can make an informed decision about your care. Look a...

Is there any anti-depressants available that actually can make you loose weight and not gain? ## There's no pill that can make you lose weight. Weight loss comes from calories in and calories out. If you are not eating properly and exercising on a regular basis then it is not the pills fault for having a negative effect on your weight. Surely the drug may have an effect on your metabolism, but this is to a small degree if you cover all the other basis of your health; including but not limited to: Adequate hydration throughout the day Plenty of fruits and vegetables Low fat consumption Exercising at least 3 days a week Adequate rest and sleep schedule Loving others around you and enjoying life Essentially, if you are missing any one of these factors, you will be more prone to experie...

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself on these forums. My name is Dan and I'm a social worker and I do mental health research. One of the issues that I see come up time and time again, but that is rarely openly discussed in my field, are the positive and negative effects antidepressants can have on sexual health. It's an area I'm researching more now, but am hopeful to converse about the topic here in an effort to learn more myself and to hopefully share some of my research/knowledge/projects too. ## You are welcome on this site, but anti depressants are not good. They've caused more problems than just sexual health. Just like all meds that the government thinks they have to regulate these should be. Instead they think the answer is to let them control what ...

I was just prescribed Rameron 30mg to take at bedtime to help with me sleep. I am also taking Adderall 30mg, Ativan 0.5mg and Celexa 20mg on a daily basis. I know Rameron has a side effect of weight gain. Has anyone heard of or experienced any worse side effects with the meds combined? Also I know it takes a while for the body to get used to a drug. If I start experiencing worse symptoms how long should I take the drug before consulting with my Dr? ## Hi, Emily! How are you doing? The most dangerous thing that can occur with this combination would be Serotonin syndrome, which can be very dangerous. Thus, if you start experiencing symptoms such as increased heart rate, shivering, sweating, tremors or twitching, then you need to seek medical attention immediately. Learn more Remeron detai...

Would anyone care to share their thoughts on this article discussing "Why The Science Behind Anti-Depressants May Be Completely Backwards": huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/28/how-anti-depressants-work_n_6707272.html ## It is possible. One thing that you will frequently notice, if you study medications is that many of them are known to have a certain effect or treat a certain condition, but we can't explain how or why they do so. There are some we can explain, of course, but for many, we really only have theories on how or why they work. It is, of course, also possible that serotonin isn't a happy chemical for everyone. Eventually, we may discover that its role varies depending on certain genetic factors, or perhaps in relation to the balance of other chemicals in the body. Th...

I am 27 years old. I want to commit suicide now because I have been in depression for a long period. Can any medication help? ## I was diagnosed with depression. I have this mood that sometimes I get so angry and feeling like committing suicide.. Is that normal? ## Suicide's not the answer & almost all Anti-Depressants are linked to serious side effects, No.#1 Suicide. I can tell you what saved my life. I was on 4-5 meds. that caused; Hopelessness, Audio & Visual Hallucinations & more. I was seriously injured in an Negligent Work Accident over 16 yrs. ago, 24/7 Severe Chronic Pain, on highest pain meds since.. I've been "Abandoned" by various Dr.'s, recent 3 months now, without meds it could have been the end. Thankfully, I can turn to Jesus anytime I fee...

No results at all! Seems resistant to anti depressants. What is happening? Do i go for only benzos to treat anxiety bcos anxiety is main problem not depression. appreciate any help. Thx. ## Hello, Ochomow! How are you? Have you ever tried just an anxiolytic, like Buspirone, if it's available there? It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, somnolence and nervousness. It's something you may want to talk to your doctor about. It may be what you need if taken with an antidepressant. ## Hope things have gotten better since you posted this. I'm getting terrified after reading some Chantix horror stories and people who report never being the same after taking it. I just took my first dose of Chantix. Leading up to the decision to try it, I've been severely depressed for the past 3-4 months and recently began thinking that if I can just quit smoking I'll be healthier, able to exercise, date (not too many smoker lovers out there) and generally feel better. I now wonder if I'm better off smoking. I'm 32 (female if it matters) & already think that my seratonin levels/receptors are screwed up thanks to years of anti depressants (sertraline, generic for Zoloft). Tried going off that one several months ago and felt great at first then eventually crashed into deep depression. Started taking them (Zoloft) aga...

Would withdrawal symptoms affect me after forgetting to take the medication for 4 days? OR Would I be getting withdrawal symptoms from dropping dosages in my lexapro? I have been on it for roughly 6 months and 3 weeks ago the dr told me to drop down to 10mg which I cut my 20's in half but I am constantly forgetting. I haven't taken them for 4 days until I remembered last night. I feel mentally and emotionally fine. I don't cry more then usual and circumstances have changed for me recently and I felt as though I no longer need anti depressants. The last few weeks I've had some health issues similar to the side effects of starting lexapro but they only lasted about a week. but in the last week or so I've had a lot of other things that are beginning to concern me: -Incr...

Hi I was on Cymgen 60mg for one month only. Lost 7 kg's. I am skinny so my body does not have that additional fat to loose. I am falling around like a drunk and are so dizzy. Withdrawal symptoms are so severe that all my lymph nodes are extremely inflamed. In fact, I experienced all the extreme side effects. Did not do the cold Turkey thing, yet in the period that I used it, I was hyperactive, which for a fibromyalgia patient with constant fatigue syndrome, it only led to Burn Out! I am unable to write my final board exams. How long do these withdrawal symptoms last? It seems to be getting worse? Not using anti depressants at present. ## How long has it been since you stopped taking it? How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? It is odd for it to cause such symptoms, aft...

I take Cymbalta 60 mg daily. I take it in the am to avoind sleepless nights, but that has not stopped. I may sleep an hour or two at the most every night. The depression is better but I am having second thoughts about continuing this medication. Like i said, I do not sleep at all. I have major night sweats and have terrible headaches. As odd as it may sound, the headaches are focused on the left side of my head. It feels like pressure and it builds. It does not last long but it is continual. I do have dizzy spells as well. I love what this has done for my depression but I am so confused about everything else that is happening since I started taking this drug. I have tried other anti depressants but this one seems to help the most. What to do?? ## Which other antidepressants have you tri...

My mom is on anti depressants and sleeping pills ... I don't have all the names of them but was wondering if u could list a few of the most popular that cannot be taken with methadone ... ## Hello, Kolinna! How are you? No, I'm sorry, that would be very difficult to do. However, is she getting them all at the same pharmacy and/or from the same doctor? If so, then they have already most likely been checked against each other for any dangers. This is something that pharmacies do as a matter of course

Ihave been on cymbalta for 10 years. I tried to taper off but the side effects were like the worse flu I have ever had. I'm am depressed again and feel that it's time for a change. I don't want to increase dosage I want off. I have finally lost the weight I gained over the years on anti depressants and refuse to start gaining again. I'm bipolar so I can be without something. thanks for any help ## Unfortunately, weathering some of the withdrawal effects is likely the only way you're going to be able to stop taking it. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to help you set up a better tapering schedule that could minimize withdrawal effects a bit more. ## Hi Inda, I was on Cymbalta for 8 years, it took me 18 months to wean myself off it slowly. I'm prescribed 25mg xR Adderall, and have been for about a year, year and a half. I absolutely love the stuff, nothing has ever worked for me the way this med does! I've been on anti-anxiety and anti-depressants, I've tried Wellbutrin and Ritalin. Nothing ever worked. But I feel like Adderall kick starts me, and puts me in some kind of "bubble" where I can be productive, stay motivated and focused and the energy! The energy is my favorite part. I don't feel like I'm dragging myself around anymore, I can keep moving without wandering off in my mind or being half asleep. It's great. BUT... as everybody knows it has it's "crash", headaches, nausea, tiredness or laziness, not being able to focus and hunger. I get all of that. Not always the headac...

I am 46 and hv been diagnosed with severe lumbar spinal stenosis, protruding disc, etc. I have taken aspirin, tylenol, t3, ibuprophen, tramodol, anti - depressants, muscle relaxers, and vicodin most recent along with the Fentanyl patch 25mg. This is the first time in my life I've had a significant relief of pain. The problem is that the pain is coming back after being on these 2 meds for about 3months. My doctor is hesitant about giving any other narcotics in addition to the patch.
