I got my tonsils infected and they are pretty big right now. Will this medication clear the infection? ## Hi, Gustavo! Sorry about the tonsil problems, I suffered from tonsillitis for many years, so I know how miserable it can be. As to Ampitrexyl, it listed as being a natural antibiotic product, not an actual medication, so there is no proof that it will help with an infection. The best thing to do would be to see a doctor for an examination and then they can prescribe a proper antibiotic, if needed. Are there any other questions I can help with?

I started taking ampitrexyl less than 24 hours ago for an abscessed tooth. I started my first dose with two 500 milligram capsules then I took 1 capsule every 4 hours ending with a total of 2000 milligrams for the day. I woke up this morning with no tooth pain and plan to continue for the next three days taking 3 500 milligram pills so 1500 milligrams. I will take one capsule every 8 hours for 3 days. If you do have an infection, it would be best to see your doctor for a proper antibiotic and not rely on this one. Infections left untreated can become systemic and life threatening. Is this a prescription drug. I was told it was a form of penecillian. They are in capsule form 500 mg and are blue and white with no markings on them.
