Amoxicillin Dosage For 1 Year Old
My daughter was given amoxicillin 250mg/5ml by her doctor for little ear and throat infection. On the second day after taking this medicine, my daughter started losing her voice. Now her voice barely comes out when she tries to talk or when she cries. Also she started getting cough specially while sleeping. I want to know is this another side effect of tis medicine and I stop giving her this medicine? If not, what is the correct dose i Should give her? She is 13 months old and 19 lbs. ## Actually, if she had a throat infection, then those symptoms are most likely from that and not from the antibiotic. The side effects from the antibiotic can include things like diarrhea, nausea and non-allergic skin rash. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. And the dose is based on her weight, so that... ...

Amoxicillin Dosage for 1 year old ear infection
son is 13 months old and 22 lbs he is to take 400 mg /5ml susp 100ml of amox. 1 teaspoon 2xs a day for ear infection is this the correct dosage? ## Hi Jennifer, From what I can find, the usual dose for a child greater than 3 months old (with a mild/moderate ear infection) is (25 mg/kg) per day in divided doses every 12 hours- or (20 mg/kg) per day in divided doses every 8 hours. Is 1 teaspoon twice a day of 400 mg Amoxicillin suspension what your doctor prescribed? If so, I don't see why it wouldn't be correct. Amoxicillin dosage for 6 yr old 46 lbs My son is 6 yrs old and has a bad ear infection in one ear. Doctor gave him 500 mg of amoxicillan 2 times /day, 2 teaspoon(10mg) .His weighs 46 lbs i just think it seems like a lot for hir age please let me know if it's ok. Thank you! ## Hi Inna, According to an article I found on the site for Livestrong, kids between the ages of 2 months and 6 years old are usually given 80 to 90 mgs of amoxicillin per kilogram of body weight per day. This is supposed to be divided up into two or three doses and is generally prescribed for about 10 days. Every child may react differently though...so unfortunately I can't say for sure whether this dosing schedule is right for your son. That question seems like it'll be better suited for his doctor, if y... ...

Amoxicillin Dosage
I have 500mg Amoxicillin capsules for an ear infection and they are pink and blue. Last time I had an ear infection the capsules were red and yellow. I'm wondering if these were a different dosage, its been a few years but I believe they were slightly smaller. I'm hoping the ones I have now are a higher dose because it took a 4 week course to clear it up last time, and now I have a 2 month old daughter and have to stick cotton balls in my ears when she cries or I black out for a second from the pain. Last time my ear drum ruptured, I'm really hoping I've caught this early enough to prevent that happening because that kind of pain was atleast 100x worse than labor. ## Based on the colors which you are describing for the capsules it sounds like you have the Amoxil brand of... ...

amoxicillin dosage for 5 years old that weighs 69 pounds
My little boy was given amoxilin for ear infection and this is his dosage......600/5ml.....he should take 10 mls twice a day for 10 days.....does that sound about right? ## Hello, Marcy! How are you? At that age, it is dosed according to weight, which for an ear infection is 30mgs per kg per day, so that would be 2,100mgs a day. Usually, it's recommended not to exceed 1,000mgs a dose, but if this is 600mgs per teaspoon, that is likely the closest they can get, without under dosing him, since they have to be sure the infection is eradicated. Please double check with the doctor though, to make sure that the dosage is correct. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Predisone panic/rage
Just a little background I'm a 17 year old thats 131 pounds and a pretty nice down to earth guy. Two days ago I went to the doctor for ear pain, it turns out my ear was swollen and preventing drainage, I was prescribed prednisone (2 20mg tablets each morning, 5 days), along with amoxicillin (2 500mg tablets)and antibacterial ear drops. I took my first dosage this morning about 10 o'clock, my mom called me to ask me how I was doing at around 1 I noticed I was extremely sassy and agitated talking to her but aft that was over things went back to normal. I new that prednisone was a steroid and as a dumb 17 year old I got kinda happy that I might gain muscle, so I looked it up, turns out it is the opposite and it makes you gain weight, honestly I didn't really care about that I w... ...
