I have been using Amlogard 5 mg. Can I switch over to Prolomet XL please? ## Suddanna, which one has your doctor prescribed? These are two different medications. Amlogard contains the active ingredient Amlodipine, it's a calcium channel blocker and Prolomet XL contains Metoprolol, which is a beta blocker. They are both used to treat the same conditions, but there are times that one may be preferred over the other for certain reasons, so you should check with your doctor, before making a switch. Learn more Amlodipine details here and there are more Metoprolol details here.

I am using Amlogard 5 mg and Tenormin 50 mg - one tab each in the mornings - for my high BP. I would like to know how these two work, i.e. what is the difference between the two, whether it is okay to use both in the mornings when daytime activity will follow or should I use one in the night. pl advise if any side effect may come if i took delma.h for long time ## I'm sorry, did you mean Telma-H? All medications carry the risk of side effects, especially when used long term. However, Telma-H contains Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothizide and is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. In the case of such medical conditions, it is much more risky to let them continue out of control, than it is to take the medications to keep them under control.
