i am taking espin 2.5 before to go to bed. is it right way of using? ## Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that is most commonly used to help control high blood pressure. There is really no certain time of day that you have to take it, unless your doctor has specified otherwise. Morning or night is fine. The medication can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. Because of that, some people prefer to take it at night, before they go to bed, that way the drowsiness and dizziness doesn't affect them during the day. Are there any questions or comments? ## lam taking bisoprolol tabs the doges is 1.25 mg also l have been given bp tablets to they our amlodipine they r 5mg r they ok to take half in the morning & the orther half at night ## I accide...

Can I take clopiwin 75/75 with 25mg of tenopress,in morning and 25mg at night???not sure if I can take clopiwin with tenopress,I had a stent put in 5 months ago!!!please I need urgent reply from dr ## These medications are often prescribed together to treat various cardiovascular conditions, but they should only be taken together, if your doctor has instructed you to take them both. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 55 and for last 1 year I have been taking Telma 40 and Amlodact 5 in the morning Atorva 5 at night. Now I am to face acute knee problem that benumbed me and prevents smooth walking, A friend of mine advises me to take Cal Mag D and stop Amlodac 5. Can I stop it and opt for some other medication? My blood right now is 146/86. ## Hello, Professor B! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. However no, you shouldn't stop taking any of your prescribed medications, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. The Cal Mag D is just a nutritional supplement and if it's okay with your doctor for you to take it, there would be no reason to stop a medication due to taking it, anyway. Have you consulted your doctor, yet?

I have been taking amlodipine for about 3 months. I started on 5 mg then 10 mg. Now back to 5 because of swelling of the ankles. I also have stiffness in the muscles and frequent urination at night which the doctor doesn't think it's the pills, although it started at the same time. Would taking them at night instead of morning help? ## Hello, Jo! How are you? Yes, those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness and dry cough. However, since it's still continuing this far into taking it, that likely means that these symptoms will not improve and you may need to switch medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had a panic attack in my sleep due to anxiety which sent my BP rocketing g and the fastest palpitations I have ever felt. I thought I was about to have a heart attack so called an ambulance, I was taken to A&E as I was getting numbness in my left arm. My ECG and bloods were normal but my BP was 184/111 it took hours before it went down. So a few days later I was at my doctors who said I now have to take Ramipril with 5mg Amlodipine, he didn't say when I should take them, plus he has changed my Simvastatin to Artorvastatin plus I take Metformin twice a day for type 2. Diabetes. I take Ramipril in the morning and Amlodipine at night and having a terrible time, numbness in my left lower arm and hand, dizzy pressure in my head, nausea, major palpitations and panic attack dreams at...

Can these be taken together in the evening? And will it be effective for 24 hrs? I'm too sleepy during the day!! ## Hi, Margo! You really should check with your doctor, before changing to taking them at night. It's really going to depend on your blood pressure levels and heart rate, as well as the symptoms. Usually, it's preferred that they be taken in the morning, to help control your blood pressure and heart rate during the times of day that you'll be most active and therefore experiencing the most fluctuations. But if you are severely drowsy from them, they may allow you to switch to taking them at night. Another alternative is splitting up the doses, so you take part of your dose in the morning and then the rest in the evening, which could lessen the side effects. Ma...

Has anyone experienced migraine headaches while taking Amlodipine? ## No headaches but watched my blood pressure increase up to 200/95 immediately after it was swallowed. In the beginning it was okay but they changed manufacturers and who knows what inactive ingredients were added. Quit taking it and now only take Brand name Dyazide 37.5mg/25 mg capsule once a day in the morning same time every day. I even tried brand name NORVASC (amlodipine besylate) and that increased my blood pressure up to stroke levels. ## I have had no problem with Amlodipine. It has finally been the answer to my blood pressure problems. I was given 2.5 mg and it didn't help much but my doctor added another 2.5 mg at night and it's been wonderful. I have the 5mg to take - just in case. We tried that first...

I take amlodipine in the morning for high bp and a water pill, at night I take Losartan and Lorazepham and I am on flexeril and 5mg of percocet 3x day for back pain. My BP is so high at night I can feel the heart beat in my fingertips and i lay awake for hours. I read where if I take potassium at night it will help to lower my BP. Is this true and if so, could it eliminate my BP meds at night. doc says it is stress related and rises when I am in pain. ## Hello, Shar! How are you? You should not take potassium, in addition to the Losartan, unless your doctor specifically says you should, because Losartan can also raise your potassium levels and building up too much of it in your body can be very dangerous. Have you actually checked your blood pressure at night, or are you just assuming i...

I am using Amlogard 5 mg and Tenormin 50 mg - one tab each in the mornings - for my high BP. I would like to know how these two work, i.e. what is the difference between the two, whether it is okay to use both in the mornings when daytime activity will follow or should I use one in the night. Is there a link between these tablets and frequent urination at night. ## Tenormin contains the active ingredient Atenolol, it is a selective receptor agonist, used to treat hypertension. Side effects can include: nausea, headache, hair loss and dizziness. You can read more on it here: Amlogard contains the active ingredient Amlodipine, and it is a long-acting Calcium channel blocker. I accidentally took 5mg amlodipine with 20mg lisinopril. Normally I take amlodipine in the morning and lisinopril at night. ## Unless your doctor or pharmacist sees a reason to be concerned, there should not be an issue. Many of us take multiple medications to help control high blood pressure and heart conditions, multiple times a day. They do not necessarily have to be split up. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. How are you feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects?

I am 46 .I have hyppertnsion for the past one year .I am using half amlopres 5 Mg at the morning my bp already was 14/10 now ~13/9 but i am suffering from PVC which makes fast heart beat in day and night for me my question is that is it drug side effect or not pl explain . ## Have you consulted your doctor? Amlopres contains the active ingredient Amlodipine and it can cause those types of symptoms, but they can also be caused by elevated blood pressure, or other cardiac related issues. Thus, you need to talk to your doctor to get to the root of the problem.

I am taking Listril-SM tab one in the morning and Tenoric-50 one at night. I have now been advised to take Telma-AM-H-80 one per day. I had previously tried Telma-40 and subsequently Telma-H as per Doctor's advise but it failed to maintain my blood pressure. Should the new medicine will be of any use ? ## There are differences in these medications. The original Telma only contains the active ingredient Telmisartan, the Telma-H contained that, with the addition of Hydrochlorothiazide. The Telma-AM-H combines both of those ingredients, with Amlodipine, so yes, it could give you better blood pressure control, but the only way to know is to follow your doctors instructions and try it. Are there any other comments or questions? ## i m,42, taking Telma H 80 mg for the last one month to co...

I woke up 3 nights ago with both arms covered by what appeared to be mosquito bites. I was mystified, nut thought it might be poison ivy. The next morning, I called my BCBS hotline, who identified this an allergic reaction. I called my doctor, who took me off of lisinopril and wnats me to try taking nothing for a week, then start 2.5 mg amlodipine if necessary. I have minor rash (itchy) on my legs every morning. How long will this continue? I stopped taking fish oil, a recent addition, in case this was the culprit. I also got a severe rash from hyzaar blood pressure medecine. I have also been taking very low doses of xanax for a year now. ## Unfortunately, allergic reactions are always possible, and if you've had a reaction already to a medication, in the past, there is a good chance...

I am 70 year old woman. I have mild hypertension since 1996. All along i am taking Amlodipine 5 mg and my bp readings all these 20 years hovers round 120/80 and 130/80.Two years back when i had swelling in the feet my phyisician prescribed Azelsartan 40 mg in the morning and Metxl 25 mg at night. With Metx,l diastolic is much reduced from 80 to 75 or so.But systolic did not reduced considerably. It is still around 150/80 and some times 160/80. Now i would like to take Metxl 25 mg in the morning also and discontinue Azelsartan 40 mg. My physician says in elderly patients controlling systolic pressure to 130 needs multiple drugs which can cause some side effects. Indian studies say systolic pressure 150 is ok if it is between 140 and 150, especially in those who are above 70. In some pati...

My PCP prescribed Hydralazine to treat my BP after taking amlodipine, metoprolol, and carvidelol - not working for me. I was hoping that this hydralazine will work for me, 10mg bid 2 only. Now in 15 days taking this med, I always have shortness of breath, feeling that my lungs are super congested. Barely breathe and all in the morning, my anxiety became so aggressive, feeling of constantly sad. But I was also being told that it is just a matter of time that my body will adjust or adapt this meds. But it's so hard waking up in the morning breathless, so when I stopped taking these meds, all bad symptoms are gone. Please help, I'm worried what if my BP will spike.
