My local dispensers tell me 100 mg tablets are no longer available from any manufacturer, even though the 300 mg tablets are still available. Does anyone know anything about this? ## My husband just had bunion surgery this morning and the doctor informed us he also found gout when the toe was opened however, you say your local dispensers tell you that 100 mg tables are not longer available but I had to pick up a RX for him when he left the hospital and it was for Allopurinol 100mg. We got it filled at a wal-greens pharmacy ## AS of November 6, 2014, Express-Scripts does not have ANY Allopurinol 300 mg OR 100 mg. The E-S druggist told me that they haven't had any 300 mg since January 2014. The customer service at E-S told me to get it at a local pharmacy and then deleted my prescript...

I started on allopurinol 100 mg tab in oct since then have gained 25lbs. Anyone else have this happen? ## Hello, LaceyLu! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. According to the FDA, Allopurinol is used to treat excess uric acid and it has been reported to cause rapid weight gain in a small percentage of people that take it. Other side effects may possibly include sore throat, nausea, dizziness, bruising and joint stiffness. Have you spoken to your doctor? It might not be the right medication for you to take. ## I am on 200 mg a day, I didn't notice until I saw your post, but I have gained 50# in 2 years. I thought I was overeating but I actually eat weather and don't hardly ever eat junk or fast food. I will definitely be bringing this up with...

I am about to have a colonoscopy and my doctor advised me not to take any anti-inflammatory drugs. ## I had a colonoscopy done and sow the swilling in the picture taken. I was told that my problem is chronic. The doctor prescribed CANASA 1000 MG. This medication is so expansive that it cost me over $500 for 30 day supply, that is thru insurance. Per my search online, this medication dose not cure ulcerative proctitis but it may decrease the number of stools, the amount of mucus/blood in the stools, and the rectal bleeding caused by irritation/swelling of the colon/rectum. Mesalamine is an aminosalicylate anti-inflammatory drug. It is believed to work by blocking the production of certain natural chemicals that may cause pain and swelling. I noticed one of my pills was missing. I thought it was my losaartan 100 mg so i took another one, not sure if it was my allopurinol or losartan that i took originaly. What should i do or expect if it was 2 losartan? ## @Just wondering, I noticed that you posted this back on 12/10/2016. I'm just wondering (no pun intended) how things have turned out for you since this incident took place? Since Losartan is used to treat hypertension, I'd suspect that you probably would've experienced some degree of low blood pressure for the duration of its terminal half-life (2 hours); after which the half the dose is no longer working... Did you encounter any unusual side effects at that time? Be well~

Do allopurinol 100 mg,triamterene- hctz 37.5-25 mg ,and tremodol all interact ok with each other ## Hello, Dtfancy! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between these medications in the MedScape database, but it's always best to double check such information to be certain. Tramadol is listed by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Triam/HCTZ is most commonly used to lower high blood pressure and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and dehydration. Allopurinol is used to treat gout and some types of kidney stones, it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, fever and easy bruising. Is t...

Sounds like furosemide ... A diuretic ## Hi Roxx, The closest match I've been able to locate is Allopurinol (100 mg). It is a white round pill with imprint N020. It is manufactured by Northstar Rx and has a National Drug Code of 16714-0041. Allopurinol (Zyloprim, and generics) is a drug used primarily to treat hyperuricemia (excess uric acid in blood plasma) and its complications, including chronic gout. It is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor which is administered orally. Possible side effects - Because allopurinol is not a uricosuric, it can be used in patients with poor kidney function. However, allopurinol has two important disadvantages. First, its dosing is complex. Second, some patients are hypersensitive to the drug, therefore its use requires careful monitoring. Allopurinol has ...
