My pain mgt MD gives me oxycodone IR 30mg but I cut in two and see if pain goes below 5 of 10 after 1 hr after first dose of half tab, if not I then take the other half. So far since my leg reconstruction surgery 7 weeks ago I have needed the full 30mg every time. Here is my question: Will I get a longer time of pain relief and thus a longer time period of my sense of well being when pain is gone by (1) taking the 30mg at single dose q 4 hrs or by (2)taking 15mg q 2 hrs, of course not taking the 2nd 15mg dose if pain<5? It seems to be cumulative but not in any consistent way that I can get a pattern tracked for optimal benefit? I was an RN for many years prior to CVA a few years ago, so am familiar with some of this but of course individual results vary. Thanks ## If your doctor app......

I just started taking carbamazepine 200 mg. I was curious as to when this medicine reaches its full benefit? Also, will this medicine cause depression? Thank you ## Hi Dawn, According to the manufacturer, it has been stated that several weeks are often required in order for carbamazepine to reach its full effectiveness. However they also go on to note that improvements in symptoms may occur sooner in some patients. I would just recommend keeping an open line of communication with your doctor to discuss how things are going for you during the first few weeks of being on this medication. In certain situations it may take up to several weeks before you even notice enough changes in your symptoms to decide if this medication is really right for you. I took linzess on a full stomach. How is that going to effect me. Is it going to work ## No, that may prevent it from working, it should be taken at least a half an hour, before eating. Most that take it with food have found it not to be effective. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, bloating and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?...

I have full blown sciaticca in my leg and want to know if Neurontin would help the pain as painkillers aren't helping it at all, nor do anti-inflammatories. If not Neurontin, is there a medication that treats the pain that sciattica gives? ## It really depends on what works for you. I am using suboxone but I started taking it 8 days ago and have since tested positive 4, 6 and now 8 days since my last dose of 60 mg of oxycodone (roxes). i hav problem of frequent dirrhoia,fullness ,blotting after eating,burning in easophagus and not proper evacuation in the mornoing.Recently I had dirrohia after which i had cipro-oz for 5days as prescribed by my physician.After 3-4 days again i had prob of having 3-4 stools accompnied by burning ,bloating,fullness nausia as usual. My question is--Can velgut be benificial for my problem?for how long it could be taken?And last but not least what would be the dose?...

Hi..my husband has been prescribed rampril and indapamide for high bp for some months now...although when checked bp is in a much better place now...he feels generally unwell 80% of the time due to side effects of meds....he has a headache most days comes on towards latter part of the day and frequently..almost daily complains of feeling of tightness around stomach area ..he says his skin feels extremely tight another symptom is malaise this is a daily thing. I have been on different anti-depressants for years. About four years ago I was put on Cymbalta 30mg, raised up to 90mg, then lowered back down to 30mg. The problem I am having started about three years ago and I have yet to find one doctor that knows anything about it. I have full body tremors, not just my hands. It is like my entire body jerks and jumps and I expel a whoosh of air when it happens. Sometimes they get so bad that they seem close to a seizure. I have had a bunch of evaluations. My neurologist says it is mental, psychiatrist says physical. I have simply been in tears. Has anyone else had anything like this and what did the doctors tell you about it? ## Trembling or shaking of the hands and feet are listed as possible side effects by the FDA, as well as full body tremors, ......
