This is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure and other heart conditions. My 87 yr old mother has just been prescribed Prexum for conjestive heart failure ## My 87 yr old mother has been prescribed Prexum for conjestive heart failure, she is also on an anti depresant, 'Nuzak' for acute pain in ther back. Is there an interaction between the two medications ## Prexum Plus contains Perindopril and Indapamide, both of which are commonly prescribed to treat CHF, though it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness and dehydration. Nuzak contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Is her doctor aware that she is taking the antidepressant with the other medication? Combining the Fluoxetine with the Indapamide can increase the risk of hyponatremia, which is very low serum sodium.

What is the drug that can be used in case I am unable to find prexum plus ## Prexum contains the active ingredient Perindopril, it is an ACE inhibitor that is used to treat high blood pressure. While there are certainly a good number of other prescription alternatives to Prexum, there are even more natural alternatives that in my opinion can be just as or more effective than prescription medication if taken seriously. I personally had high blood pressure, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to look into natural ways such as: Low/no sodium foods to help reduce inflammation and water retention; supplementation of garlic, as well as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Eating plenty o...

what is the difference between the two, prexum plus 5mg versus prexum 5mg. My pharmacy insists they the same, then why the difference with the plus? ## can i take prexum plus 5mg if Dr prescribed prexum plus 4mg pharmacist gave me 5mg ## Hello Debbie, From what I can find on these drugs the only difference between the two is that Prexum Plus also contains the active ingredient Indapamide - 1.25Mg. I hope this information helps. ## Can I take Prexum Plus together with Prexum 4mg?
