I have a strange response to Oramorph - I take 10ml for persistent hip pain two or three times a week. It takes about 2 hrs to kick in and lasts about 10-12 hrs. It is not slow-release. Sometimes I wonder if I'm imagining this or maybe it just relaxes me so the pain feels less. I am a thyroidectomy hyperthyroidism 45 year old female with hypokalemia on 30 meq's a day but I also take 80 mgs of Lasix. 9 out of ten times my potassium is low but I have been eating so much food with potassium that mine was at 10 last time and I was in the emergency room and I cannot find a doctor, not at a hospital in my area that doesn't have a 3 month wait. I am sufferng from diahorrea with mucus in stool for last 2 months. Doctor prescribed Fludac 10 along with other medicines ( Metrogyl compound etc.) Does the medicine help? ## Fludac contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant. And I am really not sure if this one makes any sense, because it can cause diarrhea as a side effect, along with drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. VA Cutting back amounts is there anything to use with it or in place of for degenerative arthritis in neck, upper &lower spine, hips & wrists? ## It's been a while since I've ever had to take hydrocodone, but I think the answer to your first question may also depend on each individuals tolerance to the medication as well as their personal level of pain. Based on the 'usual adult dosing schedule' of 1 tab every 4-6 hours, the effects will probably begin to diminish at or around that time frame. As far as adjunctive therapy goes, I would recommend looking into various natural anti-inflammatory herbs, such as: Turmeric, Ginger, Cinnamon, Garlic, & Cayenne, to name a few. I hope this helps!

I was a alcoholic & drug addict from 1980 to 1991. medication was started in 1985 . I was put on tegretol 600 & risnia 10 . Later it was changed to respond 10 &oxetol 600 . other tablets betacab 20 & parking. Before it was morning & night dosages going as high as oxetol 900 . Now i take all tablets at night. I started taking methadone about 10yrs ago for pain. Started with 80mg a day and by the 2nd yr I was down to 40-50 mg a day. Over this past year I weaned myself off to nothing VERY slowly. I just got in the mail after I had two shipments of Valium that was Roache & they were blue. My wife is a suffering from migraine for the past few months and as per doctor's advise,she is using ciplar 10 mg twice and tryptomer 10mg daily since december 2010. she is a house wife and on a few occasions she had forgotten to put the medicine. My 87 year old mom is staying with me at Christmas. I have LASIK and potassium that are supposed to be given 20mg and 10 mg respectively. Can I half the dose? ## Hello, Anita! How are you? Yes, as long as tablet, such as the Lasix isn't time released or marked that you shouldn't cut, break or chew it, it is okay to do so, but you should always make sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. The potassium, however, is one of those that is usually marked not to be broken, cut, crushed or etc. It can cause severe irritation of the stomach if that is done, so it needs to be taken whole. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started using metformin last year due to PCOS, I became insulin resistant. Hot flashes, nausea, headaches, diarrhea(if I eat the wrong things) and sleepiness at times have been the side effects that I've experienced. I take 500 mg daily and I would hate to stop taking them because they have assisted in helping me manage my weight. I was wearing anywhere between a size 6 and 8 before I became insulin resistant but when I began to gain weight I went up to a size 14 and exercise/healthy eating was helping very little.
