Paracetamol Overview

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen or APAP, is a medication used to treat pain and fever.[1] It is typically used for mild to moderate pain.[1] The quality of the evidence regarding the use for fever relief in children is poor.[11] It is often sold in combination with other ingredients such as in many cold medications.[1] In combination with opioid pain medication, paracetamol is also used for more severe pain such as cancer pain and after surgery.[12] It is typically used either by mou...

HI, I AM TAKING 14 STILPANE TABS A DAY I WANT TO STOP WHAT SHOULD I DO? AS I AM A MOTHER AND A WIFE ## Have you consulted a doctor for assistance? Stilpane contains 370mgs of Paracetamol, 185mgs of Meproamate and 8mgs of Codeine. And if you have been taking that many of them in a day, there are actually 2 possible problems. The Codeine is a narcotic, so it can be habit forming and addicting, a sudden cessation of it, in such instances, will cause withdrawal effects, such as fever, chills, nausea and vomiting. However, the most concerning ingredient, wit your level of usage is actually the Paracetamol, long-term use of just regular amounts can cause liver and kidney damage. Amounts over 4,000mgs in a day can be toxic and, in some cases, this have resulted in death. With the amounts in th...

can wikoryl syrup be given to children (abt.4 yrs old) during cold. ## What is the dose of Wikoryl Syrup (Alembic ltd) for the child age 5 yr? e.g. 7.5 ml three times in a day ## Wikoryl contains: Paracetamol (125mg) + Phenylephrine hcl (5mg) + Chlorpheniramine maleate (1mg) per 5ml teaspoon. It is used to treat the symptoms of a cold and allergies. Did your doctor not provide you with any dosing instructions? From the amounts in each teaspoon, it sounds like that would be a dose, one 5ml teaspoon for a child of that age. It is usually given every 6 to 8 hours, as needed, but not to exceed 4 doses a day. I would also verify this with your child's doctor, but it should give you an idea of what is usually taken for these types of syrups. ## my baby is 3 year old dr give him wikoryl 5 ...

Batch number and expiry date for paracetamol manufactured 2011 ## Pls confirm the expiry date of paracetamol tablet mfg in Oct 2013 ## Hello, Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a public way to look up medication by the batch number to verify such information. From what I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong), batch numbers are generally only used by the manufacturer to keep track of production...Once it hits the shelf batch numbers don't appear to have any use, unless there's a recall or something of that nature which pinpoints specific packages. Perhaps speaking with a pharmacist can add some clarity to this? Concerning the expiration of Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen or Tylenol), investing in a fresh product is always going to be your safest be...

Targin (extended release opioid)
Post a Reply
I have been on 15mg Targin every 12 hours for nearly 4 years. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and suffer with pain daily. The Targin has worked well, but on two separate occasions, I dropped the tablet without knowing. The second time was yesterday. I was feeling pain, I was stuffed up in the head, nauseous, had a runny nose, etc. I didn't know what was wrong until I found the dropped tablet. I realized that these were signs of dependence and although I have never gotten anything but pain relief, no euphoria or buzzes or whatever they are called, I am pretty sure this counts as an addiction. I was so careful to rarely use my 5mg Endone for breakthrough pain, taking paracetamol first, etc... What would be the easiest way to get off these tablets? Would having one Targin in the morning ...
