Iron(II) fumarate, also known as ferrous fumarate, is the iron(II) salt of fumaric acid, occurring as a reddish-orange powder, used to supplement iron intake. It has the chemical formula C4H2FeO4. Pure ferrous fumarate has an iron content of 32.87%, therefore one tablet of 300mg iron fumarate will contain 98.6mg of iron (548% Daily Value based on 18mg RDI). Livogen Tabs
I would like to know the after-effects of Livogen captabs, manufactured by Merck labs ## Livogen is a nutritional supplement that contains Ferrous Fumarate (Iron) and Folic Acid. Thus, it hasn't really been tested for side effects, as is done with actual prescription drugs, but the iron has been known to cause constipation and dark stool in some people that take it. Iron is a supplement that you do have to be careful with, because too much of it can as dangerous as not enough.

my iron is 4.2... I want to knw at wat dozage shud livogen-z shud be taken? and when(duration) will the level of iron reach as required by human body? ## Livogen-Z contains 152mgs of Ferrous Fumarate, 750mgs of Folic Acid and 61.8mgs of Zinc, it is normally prescribed to be taken once daily. However, what has your doctor instructed? It may vary depending on the severity of the deficiency. There also no hard and fast rule as to when your levels will return to normal, it really depends on what has caused the deficiency. Learn more Anemia details here.
