Cetirizine Overview

Cetirizine /strzin/ (trade names Zirtec, Zyrtec, Reactine, Triz) is a second-generation antihistamine used in the treatment of hay fever, allergies, angioedema, and urticaria.[1] It is a major metabolite of hydroxyzine, and a racemic selective H1 receptor antagonist. Syrup Relent

Do we get relent syrup seperately for babies or its the same 60ml bottle? Is it safe to give relent+ syrup for 5 months old baby? ## Relent syrup contains cetirizine 2.5 mg + ambroxol 30 mg; per 5mL From what I could gather, the prescribing information for this drug notes the following: Children: 6 month's - 2 years old: 2.5 mg once daily (up to 2.5 mg bid in children =12 months). There are no dosing indications for children under 6 months of age, but since your child is only 1 month away from that, I would suggest talking to your doctor about this just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps! ## If your Paediatric doctor recommend it Relent+ syrup can be given to 6 month old child as dosages suggested by doctor. ## My son is suffering from running and watery nose and 11 months old...

Okacet (Cetirizine) tablet for a cold
2 Replies RSS
Can i take a Cetrizine hydrocholride 10 mg tablet twice daily for a cold? I am a 60 year old lady. ## This is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergies, it will not help with a cold and the symptoms caused by a cold. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 100% incorrect. Certirizine is incredibly effective for headcolds. It clears sinuses way FASTER than a decongestant.

I have a one-year old daughter and she has allergies. She also has rashes on her face, hands, and legs, and is frequently attacked by asthma. Her pediatrician prescribed alnix drops 2.5ml for two weeks and then 1ml once a day until she reaches 2 yrs old. I am having doubts the fact that alnix drops have its side effects on babies. Is it really safe to take alnix drops for more than two weeks? I hope you could answer my doubts. Thanks! ## Cetirizine is an antihistamine, that is commonly used to treat allergies. In the U.S. it is most commonly found under the trade name Zyrtec and is quite often used for children and, when necessary, is used on a long-term basis. Can we take cetirizine (Zyrtec 10 mg) and ambroxol (Mucosolvan 75 mg) together? I am 53 yrs old. Having phlegm and coughing on and off for two weeks. Have been taking Fluimusil in the past few days. Also tried taking Rhinothoil Promethazine syrup when it started. ## You should be able to combine these, as long as your doctor approves, but it would be best not do so, without medical approval. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications?
