Xarelto And Dairy

Just started xarelto 8 days ago for dvt. I have a dairy intolerance and have begun getting esophageal spasms and stomach cramps again. (My normal reaction to dairy). i saw that xarelto contains lactose. Can I take a lactaid with it? If so how long before or after medicine?

I don't think there should be an issue, since the lactose isn't an active ingredient, but I'd suggest double checking to be sure.

However, you might just be experiencing some side effects from the Xarelto, many people have been complaining about experiencing odd ones, such as nausea, heartburn, GERD, joint aches and muscle aches.

Has anyone else had a lactose intolerance issue from it?

I also get esophagel spasms from dairy and reflux. The Xarelto really flared the spasms and reflux for the first two weeks and then I started Lactaid. After about a couple weeks I didn't need the Lactaid. I still get a few spasms and some reflux but it us manageable. Nit the severe feels like a heart attack spasms. I do avoid any other good triggers as much as possible though.

Have you tried any antacids?

Even mild reflux and GERD should be treated, because letting it continue long-term creates the risk of severe esophageal damage or cancer.

That's why so many doctors are concerned about treating it and not just leaving it alone.

Yes, watching what you eat to avoid triggers can help, but if that's not keep it under control all the time, you may need to take a medication for it.

Yes I have lactose intolerance and am having terrible side affect fron numerous blood thinners, I am at my wits end , I am even getting affect from taking panadole they have lactose in them as well, I have been told I have to put up with the side affects or have a stroke, they also have given me onset arthritis, is there anything else I can take in place of?
