Toridol
UpdatedOct 2006 I was given Toridol for pain and went into renal failure also. I was 82 and I've since been told by a medical person that older people should NEVER be given that drug. I became very cold and rang for a nurse and asked for a warm blanket and then I passed out and they pumped fluids through me as fast as they could which brought me out of it. It was several hours before I came to again I am a diabetic also and now am seeing a kidney specialist.

Marjorie, I am very sorry to hear about what you have experienced.
Toradol is a very strong anti-inflammatory and yes, doctors do have to be cautious who they give it too. However, if you did not previously have any kidney problems and weren't taking NSAIDS long-term, prior to this, then they had no real warning regarding what might happen.
I am curious as to how much they gave you? It is well known that elderly individuals must often be given lower doses of most drugs, because their bodies become overly sensitive to them, so they cannot take the same amount as someone much younger.
