Suboxone Levels Testing

I have been taking 8mg suboxone, twice a day for one year, and my dr s office haste added level testing. I have been not skipping any doses, and my dr put me on probation, so I kept a journal and took medication as prescribed, and once again, the lab said I was taking 4mg not 16mg. Im brokenhearted, I am not being dishonest, but they cut me off. Has this happened to anyone else?

Had you made any other significant changes to your lifestyle that your doctor may not have been aware of, such as increased exercise, increased fluid intake, major dietary changes, or etc.?

All of those facts go into to determining what your level should be of a medication, along with the prescribed dosage and dosing interval.

Thank you for your your reply, I have been drinking more fluids, as I have become very anemic, which makes you drink more fluids, but, my Dr doesn't feel this change would make a difference. Thank you for your reply. I am still searching the web for the accuracy of urine level testing.

I take 16mg of suboxone a day. How much should my levels be? My Dr. said it was 24 last month and 36 this month.

I'm in a clinic and they say my levels for subxone are very low. Does taking the film versus letting it dissolve have anything to do with this?

I have been taking 20 my a day for at least six months 12mg in the a.m. and 8mg at night my first couple of level checks was good and after that they started going down they thought i was taking myself off it and I take my morning every morning and I told her sometimes I take 2 of the night ones in one day but I always make sure I take it the night before my urine so next week I am going to see her and I have to take both my meds the night before and the next morning and see what the results are if there still low we are going to figure out why it's like that

I take suboxone regularly and get drug tested every two weeks. I was taking some Xanax also but quit 4 days before my urinalysis. Will it show up on my test or should I use a cleanse? I need to show high levels of the suboxone so I'm worried that if I do a cleanse and take suboxone the day of the test my levels will be low and I will get in trouble. I just want to block the Xanax from the urinalysis but if I do those cleanse things will it block the suboxone also? I need to show good levels for it and I'm worried. My plan is to take a cleanse the day before and then take suboxone in the morning like I normally do. Will my levels be okay if I do that? Thank you.

Yes...you could be a fast metabolizer, as I am on Methadone.

According to Redwood Toxicology Laborarory's Buprenorphine Drug Information (Metabolism):

Buprenorphine is rapidly metabolized in the liver by the cytochrome P450 system to form a pharmacologically active N-dealkylated metabolite, norbuprenorphine and glucuronide conjugates. Buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine are excreted in urine almost exclusively as glucuronides with very little free drug being detected. Studies indicate that concentration of free buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine in urine can be less than 1 ng/mL following therapeutic administration, but can range up to 20 ng/mL in abuse situations. Total buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine concentrations in urine, ranging from 0.5 - 2936 ng/mL and 4.0 - 4462 ng/mL respectively, have been reported following daily doses between 0.2 - 24 mg. The corresponding median norbuprenorphine to buprenorphine ratio was 0.23. However, there is significant inter- and intra-individual variability in the ratio because the elimination kinetics of norbuprenorphine are slower; therefore, the ratio is greatly influenced by dosage and sample time. Approximately 95% of a labeled dose is excreted within 144 hours, 68% in the feces and 27% in the urine.

Yes! The only way your strip goes into your bloodstream is through dissolving it under the vein under your tongue. Otherwise, it’s not getting into your system. Swallowing it would only mess with your stomach and increase your naloxone levels.

Yes just happened to me but they said that my antidepressants levels were really high and that my Vyvanse levels were fine and that my subutex levels. Were just a lil low? Doesn't make any sense inwas too doing all the right things staying clean etc now here I am forced to be put on suboxone bc this Dr I went to see wldnt put me on the subutex even though I had been onnit for nearly 6 yrs and was documented of symptoms of allergic reactions to when inwld take the suboxone I'm not doing well at all w this I feel like crap no energy sluggish tired itchiness depressed more so now than ever n feel like using
