Metolar contains the active ingredient Metoprolol, it is a beta blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac issues.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache.

I am taking daily Metalor AM 50 once in the morning since lst three years.What precautions should I take to avoid side effects of same drug? Pl.help me in this regards.

I am a BP patient for the last 22 years.I am aged 61 years Now. I had a slight cardiac attack during the year 1999. I had undergone Engiography and a panel of Cardiolgists collectively decided not to go for Either engioplasty or surgery. Since then I am taking the following madicines.

1. Metolar 50 mg. (Advised by Doctors thrice daily but I am taking only one per day for the last 7 years).
2. Cardace 2.5 mg.- 1 daily
3. Clopilet 75 mg - 1 daily
4. Pansa 40mg-daily.

Since 2009 it was found that I had type 2 Diabetics . Now I am taking Pioglit MF 15 and Diabend M. on a regular basis. Some times my sugar level goes below normal and on two three occassions I had symproms of Hypoglysemia.

Please let me know whether or not any of the above medicines are counter reactive medicines which cause any harm to my body? Regular use of these medicines may lead to another decease or aggrevate my existing deceases?
At this age What type of surgery is advised? angioplasty or Open Heart surgery?

I had developed pain on my legs for the last 3 years. Is it due to side effect of any of the madicines I am consuming? Previously I used to walk daily in the morning at least 4 KMs. Now I am unable to walk for even a KM. Both my legs start paining especially the portion below the Knees.

Pleae advise me.
