Just Moved; Need New Dr.
Updatedok, I moved to south Florida to get what relief I could from the cold. now I am in the position of no dr. to be had, & pharmacist s(with their vast training) can actually refuse to fill your scrip. "their pharmacist s for Christ's sake". anyway, i need a doctor that will help me to deal with my pain issues. "in my younger days I broke, dislocated, split, busted, so on, so forth. very little was allowed to heal correctly. 30 years I'm paying dearly. I just need a dr. I'm not looking to make a living of of my scripts. just to get through my day to day. I am in key large Florida. can anyone help me out. I know absolutely no one, and have absolutely nowhere to turn.

Hello, Manimal! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain.
Due to the new regulations that were set forth by the DEA last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist, now.
Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
And any pharmacist can refuse to fill a prescription, if they feel they have good reason to question it's validity or some reason to be suspicious of the patient.
thanks for taking the time Verwon to ackowledge and reply to my post. I have been seeing pain management doctors for the past 10 years. a referral won't (sbe an issue; I'm just concerned that I will go and see a doctor who does not believe in medication. I have been prescribed oxycodone, methadone, and Valium. 168, 112, 21, respectively. I even had that toned down from what I was being prescribed because it was entirely over the top. What I get now probably, to most, seems over the top as well. Perhaps. I have tried going without, and in a word, it's excruciating (which is a word I entirely hate). that is the best way I know to describe it. I can and will do with considerably less. I fully realize that. I moved to the warmer climate, knowing I was just walking into this. I am perfectly willing to put up with a certain degree of hurt. but the thought of going completely without(not even taking into account my body going to war against itself without my medication). would as well as could more than qualify to receive disability. The missus has been after me for years to file. I know too many people who have, and have ended up disabled whether they started that way or not. anyway, I just don't want to walk away empty handed. hope you can make sense of all this nonsense; "i think I need some cheese with that whine".
