How Long Before Testopel Pellets Start Working? (Page 30)
UpdatedJust had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.
Puberty NOT pinerty - lol Typo in my last posting...
Hey Leo!
At the risk of men on this site getting tired of hearing from me, I wanted to address a couple remarks you made. I have found this site to be comforting, informative and encouraging. It helps to know that there are other men who have the same issues, problems and concerns as do I. I know that you were addressing George, but you have Bob, for a moment here! ***heh heh*** You mentioned that you are in your 40s and if I try 'real hard' to remember those days, some 30 years ago, I get a smile on my face. 'Though problems, certainly, things as you get older seem to 'magnify' a bit. The one question I have for you, is (perhaps due to my age, I am not familiar with the term "pinerty" that you mentioned in your post. Either you mis-typed or more likely, I just don't know the word. Can you clarify?
Generally, I am so much a happier man at 71 now, since finding and enjoying the benefits of TESTOPEL, and actually any HRT. I, personally, did not find the inj's. nor patches agreeable to me...... for many reasons. So glad Doc steered me onto the pellets. Were it possible, I'd be taking ten (10) of the pellets every three (3) months, as I used to, but because of other health issues, this is not possible. So, I am committed to enjoying what I CAN have with the four (4) pellets each four (4) months. As I write this, I am in the truest depth of emotions and effects of my obvious low T-level. I am due next Wednesday, November 16, for implantation and look to it with great great anticipation. I become extremely sad, depressed, lethargic and pretty much non-functional sexually.
I can tell from your post that you are a fairly positive guy, acknowledging all of the many blessings that you enjoy. That being said, there is nothing at all wrong with wanting MORE, if it is available to us. I'm greatly interested in the drug (can't remember now its name) that helps with the "transitioning" of bottoming out as implantation time nears. I'm going to ask Doc about that on Wednesday. It would be a great help for me to have something like this to "bridge the gap". Thanks for listening guys, and I apologize if I've 'overstepped' by posting so often.
This is the non medical explanation to Clomiphene. I was told it releases an agent found in your body naturally. That agent reacts to your thyroid and tells your testicles they need to produce more Testosterone. As they keep working their size remains the same. Trick is not to get too much which my doctor has tested for off and on. The pellets helped me from the first week. I think the Clomiphene keeps me from bottoming out at the end of the cycle. For me at my age (Mid 60s) it has been a life saver. I can't tell you much about puberty as I had it in spades. Lack of common sense and all. What I am doing has restored my libido which makes life easier. Hope this helps, I will look up the agent being released after I post this.
Leo,
this explained the Clomid better.
To understand how clomiphene works, you need to know how the pituitary controls the making of testosterone in the testis. Testosterone is made by Leydig cells in the testis. The pituitary releases a hormone called luteinizing hormone (“LH”) that stimulates the Leydig cells to make testosterone. Testosterone is converted to the female hormone estrogen, and estrogen tells the pituitary to stop making more LH. This kind of negative feedback system is common when it comes to how hormones work. It’s just like a thermostat and heater. As the room gets warmer, the thermostat sends less electricity to the heater. When the room gets colder, the thermostat sends more electricity to the heater.
George -- thanx for the additional information. That helps me understand it. Wonder if my Doc would consider this for me. I just "crash" after about three (3) months after implantation, needing to wait -- in my case -- another month, before I can receive again. I appreciate your help. When I see Doc this coming Wednesday, I am going to bring this up to him. Would be very grateful should I find something to eliminate or at least lessen these problems. You're the best, George.
And by that process, how does it end up helping the Flaccid Turttle effect? Testosterones one thing which I understand though, it isn't that I would like to walk around aroused all day. Its Just the Embarrassing Turtle effect that I would love to work out. Is it that the Testosterone i am getting now along with Ciomiphene that does something to like the Blood flow? Does it make it more often? More sensative? As mentioned, I had a pretty sad Puberty and I look forward to better understanding, feeling and self confidence with what I have. Aroused I have No issue with. BUT I can't walk around aroused all day ha?
Also - I am on One week now with the Pellets, What should I feel? I am still quite tired - Not as much. I will share, I have been sleeping Much better the last three nights! Thank god! & the Pellets I guess.
Hi - Leo here again.. aside of my pending questions to all of You out there - I wonder if any has had to get more pellets than originally received? I haven't noticed diferences like mentioned. My desires fairly huge for it and I worry I will just never get there...
I have seen posts in the past where guys have had the number of pellets increased from original implantation. It really depends on two (2) things: what your insurance will cover and your doc's philosophy as to YOUR need. These two (2) things will ultimately dictate the # of pellets you will receive. If I'm not mistaken -- and that has happened many times in my life (believe me), I think the insurance company uses your T-level as to what their 'ceiling' is as to number of pellets. Hope this helps.
As for ME ....................... I'm beginning to SMILE, already, as 25 hours from now, I will be in Doc's office, getting my pellets, after my last implantation in July. By this weekend, I will be starting to enjoy the much-needed benefits of TESTOPEL.
Great for You Bob.... Thanks for sharing as always. GL!
Good morning form the first day after my first pellet insert (10) age 43, levels 215-240 for the last theee years. Little sore at insert spot, right leg below the hip. Previously feeling very out of it, going to bed tired waking exhausted, with sleeping through most of the night. Day 1 feeling fantastic! Been a long time since I have felt this good, just hope it's not the placebo effect. I have been reading many forums this seem most helpful on my decision. I have no other experiences with other treatments of low T. Thanks
Good luck Caca! I'd be very surprised if what you are experiencing is the 'placebo effect'. And, what if it were? If you are feeling that great, do you really care 'why'? Just a thought. Relax, take each day and enjoy what TESTOPEL offers and will give you. I'm thinking you are going to be feeling only better in the next few weeks.
Question guys: my last post, I was excited as the next day I was to receive my TESTOPEL. I got a call from my Doc office and nurse said that my insurance now has decided to pay for only 1/2 of cost of pellets to the Doc and will NOT ALLOW him to bill me for other half! What am I missing? How can this even remotely be accurate? I don't want to name the insurance carrier, as I don't know what repercussions I would have. The nurse knows how desperately I need this procedure and said she will continue to try and work on a solution, even suggesting that she is looking into the possibility of going to hospital for an "outpatient procedure" to get the implantation. She immediately said insurance would be paying FAR MORE this way, but is trying to look into all solutions. I asked her if I could come in the following day and Doc would agree to give me an inj. to help me until resolved. From my past experience, I know that inj's. -- at least for me -- are only effective/helpful for two (2) weeks. She said other men who have the same insurance as do I, are experiencing the same difficulty. HINT: this is a "partnered" insurance w/Medicare. I'm not a "happy camper". Just wondering if anyone else has experienced and if so, how problem (hopefully) was resolved. As always, thanks for both listening and any comments that may result from my post.
Great man! Welcome to the Form. I am feeling better now on my 3 rd week I would say. Still lightly sore/bruised - no issues. I neleive it is changing things for me. Waiting on response from Team here concerning this other testosterone med mentioned previously as it helped with Flaccid appearance. I had fealt slightly dead - hence, Flacid is really small. Aside of that I think I may need more than the Ten Pellets to really feel the diference. So far, daily Woods are here. Lookiing for more insights... Hope You all are well.
Did your Doc give an expected level? I asked after the insertion and he was hoping 300 at the end of 3 mo, I told him I thought that was low and expect higher Like 500 or so.
Mine said 500 to 800. I get 12 pellets every 3 months. Wish it was 800 to 1000 lol. Grass always greener on the other side.
Mine if I recall was 500 - 1000. May need more pellets. Moods better though. I wait to feel more sexually active... Never was like my buddies and I desire that still. Waiting to here more on clomiphene so I feel better about my Flacid as well. If I knew of all this a long tome ago - I most certainly would have started all of this back then! 20 Years ago... My wife will sure enjoy the effects soon! She"s been great throughout all of this!
Not sure I understand your flaccid question. I don’t think any medication will change you from a grower to a shower. The Clomid I take is a buffer at the end of the cycle which helps a lot, it also prevents the atrophy which occurs in the testicles when on Testosterone replacement therapy. That last part is pure vanity LOL. I have not seen any side effects at this point and I have been on it a year now.
I have nothing to add to this discussion, George, other than to say each time I read a post of yours, I know I am going to either learn something or feel good about the encouragement you offer other guys!
Have a great Turkey Day, George!
True Bob - George Thanks! Being a Grower sucks. I was told my Dr is the one I need to ask for the clonid.. Planning on it and yes... My last concern is being a Grower.. Looking to have the same confidence as other Growers I lack! Any tips would help...
Leo,
Have to smile, This almost sounds like me with the atrophy of the testes. I like them larger, and on testosterone they can almost disappear. I ask my doctor how to stop that side effect and he told me of clomids benefits. In retrospect, the best part of it is the buffer at the end of the cycle, but I also like the bigger sac too. The grower shower issue is just like the larger testicles, just a bit vanity.
If what I have read is right, once erect the average of both the shower and grower are the same size.
At some point a gene mutation must have made some showers, or some growers. Growers would have been protected better from environmental events. Showers might have had better luck with the females until they got frostbite. Glad I have warm clothes. I seem to remember a genetic article on body types difference between Northern Europeans and southern Europeans. I suspect this is where the grower/shower gene divided.
Thanks Bob, that was very nice to say.
