Help Cost Of Oxycodone Killing Me (Top voted first)
Updatedbeen going to pain managment clinic in tampa florida this entire year the name brand pharmacy;s don't carry the medication so i cant use my insurance. so mom and pop pharmacies carry it but wont take insurance. Heres my problem the first prescription for 240 30mg oxycodone was $260 the next $340 the next $1,500 the next $1,300 the next $1,100 and last month he said it would be $1,300 i told him i could go down the street and get them for $900 then after debating price for 30 minutes he took $890 for 240 oxycodone 30 mg. they also only take CASH. Does this seem legal to anyone?
Yes, taking cash only is perfectly legal, it is the only form of payment in the U.S. that a retailer is not allowed to refuse. They are not obligated to take anything else, including insurance, especially if they are an independent pharmacy.
The price you are paying, however, is really high and it seems they may be jacking it up on you, deliberately, but I don't know how you'd prove that. That is higher than most people pay in cash for the name brand.
What formulation are you taking, is it time released or regular release?
As to the name brand pharmacies, have you tried asking them about ordering it in for you? Most of the time they can do this, so you can use your insurance to cover it.

After an accident in 2004 which disabled me, I have become a Go To person for people seeking information about the Controlled Substance Act and insurance restrictions on certain drugs. As I have learned, as long as the pharmacy gives you a receipt that specifies exactly what you paid that ridiculous amount of money for, dispenses the drug in a legal container stating your name, the medication, a prescription (DEA) number, and usually on the bottom of the bottle, a specific and detailed description of each pill inside, then if your insurance won't pay for it, I know of no law that requires a pharmacy to accept checks or credit cards. You are obviously paying the full price as most insurance does not pay for certain medications. You can call your insurance company and request a list of medications that it pays for. Also, there are a number of other reasons too lengthily to get into that effect your cost of certain prescriptions such as yearly deductables. Again, I would talk to your insurance company.
Medicare doesn't pay for prescription narcotics not dispensed in a hospital environment, especially in a form that lends itself to abuse such as yours does. Most Medicare supplement insurance pays for such drugs instead. Otherwise, it depends on the insurance, co-pay, and other factors. With that said, the sums of money you claim to have paid, depending on the number of pills, appears to be extremely excessive for that medication.
Even Methadone doesn't cost that much without insurance in any pharmacy I know of, but I have no experience with that drug, but my sister does as a victim of several failed back surgeries. She is also an insurance broker. I am just a knowledgeable structural engineer with extensive personal experience.
The chains are always the cheapest place to buy oxycodone.
However, if your CURES record shows signs of abuse they will not fill your prescription. Prescriptions of large quantities from shady physicians, or prescriptions from multiple physcians, overlapping or early refills won't be tolerated.
If you are paying a high price for your prescriptions, you already know why you choose to pay these exorbitant fees.
I have been getting 120 roxies (M's,A's,V's) every month for about a year. It cost me $10 with my insurance. Today on the other hand the pharmacist said my insurance doesnt pay enough and charged me $460
Go to the pharmaceuticals web site and most of them have a patient assistant program. Your doctor usually has to complete paperwork and provide the request for assistance and you will have to send them some records like income tax filings. I know some people who get their medication free direct from the pharmaceutical company.
ROFL...........You can't find these kind of pills over the internet anymore. There are maybe 1 or 2 legit pharmacies left on the internet, the rest are rip offs if they say they have them. It is no longer legal to get Pain Pills over the internet. There was a major change in the laws as of October of 2010. I used to have the entire new list of laws from one of he law firms that helped write them and put them into effect. However my other computer died with the on it. I am sure if you did a little digging, you could find it.
Also as of 2013 the price is about double or triple now for less pills. It is almost $1000 dollars for only 120 30mg oxycodone now. And alot of times they either don't have them or you have to order ahead of time. Now days the pharmacies are having shortages and being also told how many they can order a year. Personally I am no longer on them. I have been off the pain pills since the end of February 2013 and Thank God because I was sick of the addiction and the cost was getting out of hand. I don't even crave the crap. I could care less if I ever see another pain pill in my life. The only way I will ever take one again is if I am in an accident or a limb falls off......lol
Yeah you are paying more than the price if the bame brand for sure I just checked today while at Walgreens... You know, walgreens no insurance price is like $200 for 120 30mg M30s, generics... I'm sure you would have a walgreens somewhere.... And as verwon said, I think they are purposely marking you up- that or your saying you have a script and your paying FULL CRACK at your local street pharmacist lol-
That's actually more than street price your paying too sadly, well at least from what the show on the news said about street drugs a documentary we recently saw about people fienin for diff types of stuff...
There are indipendant pharmacies that are WWAAAYY less than larger ones, for instance walgreens and alberstons r smiths are almost double the ind. One I go to that's just a small one...
If you don't have one like the one I go to, the best and cheapest name bran pharmacy that I have ran into over the years is SAMS CLUB OR COSTO!!! you should definitely try there, and ask for generics like the malinkoft (however u spell it) M30's (they're blue with a boxed M on one side and 30 on the other) OR the amide a215- (blue with a a215 on it lol)
hope that helps you out man... Take care and hope things get better for you and the rest of us, I just got rear ended yesterday crazy enough... It sounds as though I'll never stop being in pain or hurting... Cheers~
do you have health insurance? i mean ir is expensive it depends what pharmacys your using, if u go to walgreens and get a walgreens saving card cost like twenty bucks it takes money off..i pay 94$ for 90 of them which is good for someone who doesnt have health insurance. Also, im not sure where you are from but one time i went to Costco and had a 90 script and it was $49! I was in shock..you gotta check pharmacries around you, some seriously rip u off
I PAY 73.00 FOR 180 30MG ROXY'S WHICH IS OXYCODONE. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO STOCK THAT STORE WITH VASELINE.. OXYCONTIN IS EXPENSIVE BUT NOT OXYCODONE
WALGREENS AND CVS AND LARGE PHARMACYS ARE ALWAYS THE MOST EXPENSIVE. GO TO A PHARMACY AT A HOSPITAL THAT IS WHERE YOU GET YOUR BEST DEAL. LIKE I SAID , I GET 180 30'SM FOR 73.00 AND MY FRIEND GETS 260 15'S M FOR 76.00.. SOUNDS LIKE SOMEBODY OUT THERE IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOU.
I pay $107.95 for 190 Roxycodone 30's, here in Los Angeles at a mom and pop drug store.
Very risky to post such a thing. Obviously you are very addicted to have to ask for such a controled substance on the internet to say the least. Very risky. It would be better to just go through the process and get off of them. I don't want to be nosey but it's obvious from your post that you are headed for trouble..overdose, arrest, etc to get this drug by what you posted. Please get help.
walmart prices on 90 10 mg. oxycodone is about 52.70 or so with a free dicount rx card off the net. I believe it is almost 90.00 without it and this is for the generics. this is in arizona. the rx card is called rx relief pharmacy discount card, it is free.i found a discount coupon online that actually saved me 10. off of the 52.70 price so it was like 43. and change.hope this helps
You will always pay more at a mom and pop store compared to a chain. Chain stores won't fill anything that looks shady..why should they take the risk...they don't own the business. Mom and pops take the risk in order to compete with chains but they will charge you a lot for the trouble.
Chain stores such as Sams and Costco charge about 30$ for 180 oxy. Chains do have them in stock but just say they don't. They don't want the word to get out on the street because filling these drugs are risky and a lot of extra work. Plus admin might come down on them.
If you are paying that much money there is something wrong...bad doctor, diagnosis code,.bad cures report..something.
In Fred area suffering from chronic pain as well. Interested...
I work for blue cross no it isnt call blue cross pharmacy and tell them they will be kicked ot of the network so you need to tell mom and pop what you.r.going to do and they will start billing your ins they cant take the ins and choose what meds to bill ins for or cash for
Listen here... I get 90 30mg Oxycodone IR every month. just turned 26 and my insurance under my parents got cut off so I was informed because my mom works at jewel osco that they offer this savings program called the RX Card & its literally advertised all around the osco pharmacy. I got my 30mg Roxis using this free discount option for the price of $67.00 without my old insurance. Also my 90 xanax bars cost me only 22$ with the same RX card discount. If you have a Jewel-Osco in your area go for it. its cheaper then any pharmacy discount card out there.. NO JOKE. I used to get 180 30mg oxycodone about 2 years ago and without insurance they wanted about $220-$250 at Walgreens So in conclusion I get half of what I used to get and $67 aint a bad price without insurance. Good luck!
please when tryin to fill a script for a narcotic, go to your local pharmacist that you frequent with your regular. scripts ask them on the side if they can order it. shouldn't. be a problem if you hav been supporting their business.I suffer from spinal pain,i wouldn't. kno what. to do otherwise.
