Generic Suboxone 8mg Expensive

Updated

Ok I was on subutex an now supposedly a state law n Tn that they can only prescribe tex to pregnant or nursing women. I now am prescribed suboxone tabs and many pharmacies turned me down even though they were on my list from the dr. So I went to Wal-Mart where I had been going and they had to order the tabs. When I got them they r called buna and r the half moon 155 white round pills, but they r like 8 something a piece! I tried using the GoodRx coupon but the pharmacist said they will only take coupons from the manufacturer and I don't even know who or what to look for. Can someone please help! I love feeling normal but its costing so much money! HELP!

I have gotten the same spiel from my doctor about Subutex yet no law exists to support this claim. I have been on Subs for over 6 years now...back then they were $10 a piece and my insurance wouldn't cover them at all. Here are some pointers that have helped me throughout my Suboxone maintenance. First and foremost, keep in mind how lucky you are to have found a way out of opiate addiction. While I know well that $8-$16/ day adds up to quite a tidy sum, I also know it's a fraction of what you spent on pain pills or dope before you sought treatment. That said, however, an important part of our recovery is economic improvement. I don't think this aspect is given enough value by the doctors who treat us. They figure if we found a way to spend $50 or $100 a day in active addiction then $10 ought to be a bargain for us. What they fail to recognize is that many of us had to chose recovery knowing it would hurt us financially, either by losing the conf idenceof our employer or by harming our professional image when we went to rehab. Others used to steal or sell their bodies to get what they needed, and no one should have to do that to stay clean.

There is a coupon from the manufacturer of Suboxone film for $50 off a month, which is meant to curb the cost of a copay - if only that were our issue!!! It doesn't help make the rx affordable for uninsured recoveri.g addicts. I personally think the pharmacist who rejected your coupon was lying to you, probaby out of prejudice to addicts (which is a violation of the ADA if you are clean and in recovery). The coupons are meant for use at all major pharmacies and I've used them at Wal-Mart. I suggest trying the app ain - in the past I found the best price for generic Sub tabs for $3.80 a piece at CVS, and this was the best price available. Strangely, however, this month they went up to just over $5 using the same coupon and I can't seem to find a generic Sub coupon using the app today. It may change overnight, my best advice is to keep checking the app and use a different pharmacy where the pharmacist is supportive of your recovery and not trying to sabbotage your efforts. You may also want to file a complaint with his supervisor. Good luck and hang in there.

I found the coupon codes you need. Generic suboxone sublingual tablets:
Member I'D: GRX273957
RX Group: AME08
RX BIN: 003585
RX PCN: ASPROD1

$113 for 30 at CVS is lowest price. Price for 60 is just about double. Good luck!

@Ricky,

RecoveryGrrl is right. These coupons are supposed to be accepted at all major pharmacies. So I'm not sure why the pharmacist felt the need to deny your particular savings card. However I find that it's usually only the really tightly strung pharmacists that tend to abide by such restricting policies without bothering to lend you a hand.

If you still need assistance though, this site also offers a prescription drug savings card that works at over 60,000 pharmacies nation wide: Rx Savings Card

Just to make sure you don't run into this problem again, it may even be a good idea to inquire about these coupons at a few different pharmacies in your area, ahead of time...

I hope this helps!

Hello, Im looking for a doctor or psychologist in one of the EØS/EU countries. Belgium, Germany or France f.eks. that I can travel to once a month to get subutex. In Norway you have to go to the doctor every day. And thats not good enough. I used to travel before., but I don't have the doctor's name and cant find him on net. Hope someone can help me. Thanks

Does anyone know what pharmacies carry the 54 411? Seems like CVS never has them. Im in the Cookeville area. And when u try to call other pharmacies they always say they cant tell you. That's ridiculous.

Just ask for the Roxanne manufacturer brand. U don't have to ask what the pill looks like. Just call around to diff pharmacies and ask if they carry the Roxanne brand of buprenorphine 8mg tablets. Most reps that answer the phone doesnt know what subutex even is. Most mom and pop pharmacies have that around my area in High Point, NC and their cheaper and better(that I might add) than the other brands out there.

That's nice to know that the Roxanne brand works great..I called a Shopko pharmacy without me stating who I was or me having a paper prescription this past year asking..."do you carry suboxone 8mg Roxanne?". The pharmacy workers reply was a quick "no" -- too quick in fact. Just a day or two later I was out and about when this gal I know told me it was her who answered my call that day..forgot she is now a pharm tech.. She told me right after she got thru with my call she recognized my voice..(I have a faint Oklahoma Native accent and live in a small Montana town). Anyway she "was on autopilot" right then and would have given me some info had she recognized my voice or if I would have identified myself stating that I had a paper prescription I needed filled. My friend advised me our local Shopko policy on ANY narcotic call like that is to say no to the caller. It seems that that's just part of their safety training.

Go to Walgreens. They accept Rx coupons and it makes it a lot cheaper.

The doctors office should have coupons to give patients with no insurance. I have received them before and the same coupon is suppose to be good once a month for I think a year. Once when I didn't have a coupon a pharmacist at the pharmacy I was using then also went and printed me one out and used it. You should also be able to go to the pharmaceutical company website and get coupons. I hope this helps you. Good luck and congratulations on wanting to change and take the steps to getting your life back. It's a wonderful decision. I am truly grateful I made that decision and am getting my life back and being able to live better, take care of my family and be a productive member of society today. God bless you now and forever, and God be with you at all times during the journey you have chosen to take. Stay strong and believe in a higher power because you can do this and you are worth this. If you ever need someone to talk to or any help I'm always available to my peers, just let me know.
